I've been writing poetry for as long as I can remember, though I've only kept works from when I was 12 and on. It's one of the few things that keeps my mind from twisting into the norm of a society I find to be sadly lacking in so many ways. My mother would call me the Jack of All Trades. Knowing everything, master of none. This is the one thing in my life that I feel I can say I'm a natural at. Not to be egotistical, but because any form of poetry cannot be accurately judged as it is a piece of the heart and mind given life, and who are we to say when life is imperfect?

So I offer a small part of my life that few know of or get to see. Whether you enjoy my works or not is of little importance, but I do hope that you lay no judgments on what little I have left of my heart.

This one is inspired by S.Shakespere and is done almost entirely in iambic pentameter.

~These times of shallow heart and vanity filled grace
Have long since grown to take on perfect face
So now to find the sin in man's unfailing faith
One must look to demons of forgotten place.

For in their minds the secrets that they keep
Are not lost and gone, til claimed by sleep
For Father Death hold's dear the deeds of man
As shattered faith, like bones, fall to the heap.

And love not lost is taken into mind
To loosen bands of darkness meant to bind
As cold heart of simple man can often find
That sin holds hopeful love once left behind

But still that beating heart of thin lined gold
For one's soul is just in shallow minor hold
For he who keeps man's deeds in Book of Sin
Has yet to take the mind of hollow mold. ~

Haruko, be sure not to sign your name to your posts, as it's considered flobbing/spamming and is against the rules. I've removed it from your post, but just FYI for the future.

Lovely poem as well! :D

Noted and will remember that for future reference on any and all postings. Sorry for any inconvenience. ^_^ And thank you.

For the moment when my mind can't stay awake long enough to listen to my heart talk about the world it hopes for, compared to the world it lives in. In a moment, anything can happen. In a moment, everything does. But if the people aren't listening, aren't watching, then it's just like everything else.

Truely insignificant ---

I have no titles for my poems, I've never been good at coming up with them. This is for my faith, my style of living rather than my religion. For Buddhism is a philosophy more than any other title.

~Too many times my mind has bent and twisted
These thoughts of what is right are too far gone,
To be the norm for those who have them listed,
Their own thoughts having taken them too long.
To them our life is perfect just as is,
To question is a life that's lost in sin.
Our lives should always be forever His,
Or hell will be the path that we'll fall in.
For others, time is of no consequence.
We live our lives for other's happiness
And only we can stain the innocence
The hope that one may live in perfect bliss.
What is this judgment that we use to rend
To tear apart the truth of one's own faith?
Why fret about the things one can't amend
Instead of proving yours is all that's right?
For truth holds strong in everyone's intent,
For Faith is what will keep one bright and true
And we don't all have to be heaven sent
To understand: Our worth is what we do.~

Gosh, I hate to be that guy, but another bit of information for you: Double posting is also not allowed here, unless it's been at least five hours since your last post, or if your thread has fallen off the front page of the forum. In Lit Spot, we also allow double posting if a writer has multiple chapters to a story they're posting and if each post is at least one page in Word. Instead of double posting, we prefer that you just go back and edit your previous post. :D

I went ahead and merged your double post for you, but just FYI for the future. If you do accidentally double post, just click the report button on the second post and tell the moderators that you accidentally double posted. They'll take care of it, and you won't get into any trouble. :D

Dedication to my Guardian Puck

Shame what pain the heavens bring to mortal ground
That even Hell is haven, whence snow comes round
Yet little do they know the thoughts we see
in heaven's tear,
Too blind to know the love that we once lost
is what we fear.
Demons share with Angels, beauty's face
So then do joy and pain share equal place
For gods do lack the memories we share
of hope, of love, the pain it brings, we bear.
