I sort of got the inspiration from Pink Floyd's "Brain Damage." I was up at 4 in the morning when I wrote this, which is usually when I write my best poetry anyways.

Brain Salad Girl:

For those who don't know
What the above term would mean,
I'll give you a hint:
It does not involve the spleen.

Way back when
Before the war of the cold,
they could fix your brain
or so I'm told

By cutting some pieces
from your brain
just in order
to make you sane.

But the process can go
horribly awry.
This girl I knew,
They made her brain fry.

Brain salad girl
had voices in her head
telling her left from right
or so she said.

The problem was
the procedure was new
and the doctors were clueless
as to what they should do.

They argued all day
over where parts belong
and due to the arguing
they did it all wrong.

But Brain Salad Girl
doesn't worry anymore.
Sure she's alive,
but she thinks she's a door.

Haha! I'm don't know much about poetry.. (I do study Psychology though? It's kinda related to your poem?) but I really liked this piece ^^ First I was like: 'Where is it going to?' but the end is certainly surprising and funny! ^^;
