Here is some of the poems i have written. I am considering writing again but would like to first hear others opinions of my old works. This was over two years ago so please keep in mind anything new may not be as good to start with. Thank You!!

The Aspects of Love

Love is an unpredictable and uncontrollable thing
There is none alive or who shall live
That will be able to put an end to its plans
Whether one embraces it or casts it aside
It affects us all the same
The death of a loved one will hurt
Even one who is misguided and kills their beloved

Love is a strange and confusing thing
Some will only love one person
Others shall have the misfortune
Of loving two people at once
Causing a confusion within their very soul
One to which no answers will come
Without the aide of one of their beloved

Love is a great and exhilarating thing
There is none alive or who shall live
That will ever regret having felt it
Whether they be cynic or romantic
None can deny its existence
For even hate cannot compete with its power
For everyone will have a beloved

Love is a strange and mysterious thing
There is none who know
Of its creation or how it works
Except for the dead and they wont tell
The secrets of love
For one to know they must experience it themselves
One cant search for their beloved

Love will present that person or persons to you
And you will always cherish them
Wishing to protect them no matter what they do
Willing to change your ways for them
Love is the only thing that we humans
Will never fully understand

Voice of Serenity

Just the sound of your voice
Can stir up a hurricane of passion
Which cannot be quelled by any storm
Or thing you do to bring me harm
Your song is that of a Morning birds
Rejoicing in the rise of the sun

Just the sound of your voice
Makes others stop to listen
For no other has such a voice
That can calm the very seas
From an anger of the gods
Or bring sanity to a mad man

Just the sound of your voice
causes my heart to beat
Like the wings of a hummingbird
In the middle of spring
All you must do is speak a word
And it begins to flutter with joy

Just the sound of your voice
Brings my mind to a state
Of peace and calmness
It creates thoughts clear as glass
Thoughts that id never would have had
Had you not placed them there

Just the sound of your voice
Makes Palm trees sway
In such a way that it becomes
An act of beauty and art
Even the wind must confess
That it cannot do this as well

Just the sound of your voice
Exerts such a power
That nature itself is drawn to it
Yielding to its every command
As if it was the most enjoyous thing
Serving your voice is its only pleasure

Just the Sound of your voice
Makes the gods envious
They cannot calm seas or
Create passion in others
It is your talent they admire
For you are the voice of serenity

Misunderstood Aspect

The blue spray of the ocean
as its crescent waves crash
upon the coarse rocks
of the sandy shore

The gentle power of the moon
lighting the night sky
as many stars aid it
in its quest to bring beauty

The sun a lonely star
bringing a mighty light
so that none may feel lost
in this world so large

The lion who lies in wait
as its prey the gazelle
grazes on the long dead grass
plots its attack on the herbivore

The ever watchful eyes
of an owl gazing down
upon the forest ground
searching for some small morsel

A cactus stands alone
Its arms forever reaching
towards the skies
almost as if asking why?

A monstrous mountain
Stands tall and broad
neer moving an inch
however strong the wind

A mother gving birth
a father wrought with joy
a new babe gazes around
at his new home the world

Death approaches a door
the occupant inside hides
shivering in a dark cold corner
hoping with all hope that he is not found

One should not fear it
but accept it
for like all other things mentioned
It is a natural event

Masquerade of Indifference

Why do i cry
when none are around
yet while others are
my true emotions
I do hide

A mask of indifference
is who you believe i am
Yet have you ever tried
to see whats beneath the mask
To see how i truly feel

If you could see me
for who i truly am
would you still respect me
Or would you leave me
for i no longer appear strong

My mask deceives all
save for the ones
who i have shown
that my indifference
is all a masquerade

Why do i hide
behind this awful mask
Why must i be the one
Who hides their emotions
Why cant i be comforted

This mask one day
will bring me only pain
for when i do reveal
who i really am
none will believe it

Spirit

A Darkness within my heart
Eats away at my very soul
Corupting everything it touches
Bringing it my whole being
In to the eternal abyss of Sin

A beast within my Soul
Staring from my eyes of blue
Eyeing all i see as prey
Frustrated it isnt let out
Wishing to feast upon my friends

A darkness within my heart
Creating desires most vile
A beast within my soul
Seeking freedom from its cage
Can i overcome them?

Hope

All i see is despair
How do we live
In this world of ruin?
Are we fools?

Or is it for one word
A word that all know
But does it exist
Or is it in our heads

For its not physical
nor is it emotion
therefore how is it real
Are we all insane

How can one word
inspire so many
one little word
yet it affects us all

Some of us heed it more
while others dont see it
but this one word
can save us all

Your poetry is like way better than mine. I really like hope and spirit. They are very good.

Thank you very much. Yeah alot of people liked those two more than the two i liked. But i seem to have been in a block for two years. Nothing i write seems to come out right anymore. It doesnt show what im feeling or thinking accurately enough like the above ones do. any tips to solve this? And yay my posts arent impeding your poems now. :)

Well try to write your poetry when you're emotionally down in the dumps. That's what I do. You don't have to use big confusing words to make your poetry sound great or get the big point across...

hmm.. Ill try. Yeah i know that i dont need big confusing words its just i somehow convey the opposite of what im feeing now. That or its all over the place which would confuse people i think. But ill try your advice *nods*
