Seito hasn't done one of these in a long time. xD this be a private Round Robin between StrawberryOctopus and myself.
Feel free to come in and read~ <3 |
There was time when the world stood still and let itself be engulf in complete and total darkness. It fell silent and all that made life bright and vivid all but disappeared.
The sky became dark and gloomy, the plants wilted and died, and the seas became harsh and choppy. Joy and laughter all became a thing of the past, as hope vanished and faded. Buildings crumbled, disasters hit, floods destroyed towns, storms sanks ships, earthquakes buried cities. It was a dark time indeed. No one knows for sure what exactly brought for this darkness. But this, this is where our story begins... |
Within the very inside of the core of the earth all humans once called home, under all the doom, destruction, and dieing, a stiffled light stirred. Life as the face of the earth knew it was gone, but it was a natural thing for the earth to live, so it did. Something hid within, as a dark force trampled on the outside, but what was it to do? There was nothing left more than a couple of powerless humans that where resorting to eating their own. Surely the light couldent use them. Though, the light knew, that somewhere hidden away, there was something it could use - something that it'd have to train, to mold, to create. The lights problem was, after all this continuos destruction, how would the earth react to the light suddenly flinging new life into its bounds..If life was reinterduced, surely it'd be eatem by what darkness roamed..
|
So, light came to a conclusion. It would become human, it would introduce life back to Earth, and once it stablized, it would shed it's moral shell and return back to the higher plane.
The light did this. It recreated the animals and the plants, the easiest to mold and grow strong. A touch of light was all that was need to make sure it could at least fight back against the darkness. Humans however were harder, trickier. The Light didn't understand humans, how they thought and acted. There were still humans left, the Light could seek them out observe them, and finally recreate them. Small push with its power would show to him the people they were before the darkness came. |
After many nights, and days, the light observed its creations, and made sure that all was in order, and it was. Seemingly years went by as things grew intelegent, and independant. Clans where created, and humans could but observe the other species form. Now that light had set things in the order they needed to be, Light desided to personify itself, so it could observe, and enjoy its creations. Light decided to settle in the small town, Balgrog. Within Balgrog, The tavern lies in the middle, surrounded by the inner circle of shops, and buisnesses, thus surrounded by homes, and farms. Looming over the entire city of Balgroc, was the grand, gothic style castle, which held the kind Ithodor, and queen Iris. This kingdom, was ruled by Oynx dragons, but most species where told by light to hide their true forms from the remaining humans, buy mocking their very appearance. Light sighed, as it wondered in its mind, what form will I take?
|
Cyne tipped his glass back and forth. The tavern was bubbling with noise. Chatter about the latest bounty, the newest marriage, the hottest gossips.
Cyne paid no attention though. None of that held his interest. All he felt was restless, like an itch he couldn't reach. The problem was he didn't know -what- to do about it. He wanted to have an adventure but bounty hunts held no action. He wanted to do something but didn't know what. His ears twitch, picking up the sounds of soft trending of feet. He turned just as the door to the tarven opened. |
With a smile, Cyne greated the well known face that was his mate as she lingered in the doorway of the tavern. Brushing back his long black hair, his pitch black irises, and contracting white pupil gazed over the elegent form of the young girl that entered. He rembered just how they had met, and a nice story it was. As she approached him, he smiled, and recaped that day.
Sitting far off the town of Balgrog, a feild only dragons could access sat. This feild was comonly known as "Tai" dragoneese for "Training". Here is where young dragons, royal and lowly alike, went for cortship practice, and at the end of training, a grand ball was held. Maria found it rather trivial, but as a dragon, she had to be there. At said grand ball, dragons and dragon maidens fought for their mates, even if they where already chosen for them. The whole process, though, was what discusted Maria. The fact that they had to prance around in human form, and atract their mate with the fleshbag costumes that the light gave them milenia ago. To have to fight over a dress, a man, and a position in the future dragon hiarchy. "Rediculous" Maria thought, but was it really? |
"You're late," Cyne teased.
Maria tossed her long brown haired ponytail over her shoulder. "And your point Cyne? I like looking presentable. Even in this so called disguised." "Vain as ever I see too." Maria punched him in the shoulder. "A lady always look presentable." Cyne smirked, his voice still light and teasing. "Sure~ Maria, sure." "So what did you want to talk about, that you're calling me at such an ungodly hour of the night?" Maria took a seat next to him. Cyne chuckled. "Yeah sorry about that." He glanced at the clock. It read 1am. Looking back at Maria, his expression turned serious. "Look, Maria, I know this is sudden. But... I plan to leave this town in the morning." Maria was startled for a second. She had never seen Cyne look so serious before. "What are you talking about Cyne?" she asked. "Leave and go where? Why?" Cyne smiled. "I just want to go out there and explore. I want to see the world for myself. I alway feel cramped up in this place. I --" Maria burst with angry at that point. "THERE'S NOTHING OUT THERE CYNE!" Everyone in the tarven actually stopped talking for a moment to stare at the young couple before chalking it up to another one of those lover spats. Cyne let out a sigh. He knew Maria wasn't going to let this go. Cyne stared her right in the eyes. "I'm going Maria. And you're not going to stop me. The question is whether you're coming with me." |
"Where am I to go, when there's nothing out there, dear Cyne?" Maria asked, flippantly. Her voice was still raised slightly. With a flippant raise of her brow, she looked stubornly at him."Cyne, we have dragonly duities to tend to, what are we going to do in the middle of nothing?" Her tone remained mocking as she asked her question.
"Father will understand, im sure.. and mother, she'll know im just being me. But thats not what I asked you, are you coming or not?" He continued to pry. "Because the queen needs to know if her best war rider is going to be gone for an extended time." He continued, peering ideas in his mind. Maria sighed. "Well, what should I report to the king and queen tomorow? That their son and best warrior is going on a vacation? Right before Lybra?" Lybra was the celebration of Light, some dragons belived that Light itself graced the earth on that day. "What is YOUR father going to think? I'd rather not be the bunt of his anger. Nor your mothers! This isnt FAIR!" Maria was whining now, and quite loudly. "Maria..sweets..I-I need to go! I WILL go! Its in my blood. Now, answer me, are you to leave me by myself, and break every law of cortship camp? You that lies so heavily in the pool of tradition?" He pryed more, softly taking maria's hand. Whispers gathered in the tavern, and eyes started staring at the couple. |
Maria stared at him. "You.. you ARGH!" It was just like Cyne to use her sense of duty and honor against her. It was just one of those times she swear she would hit him.
Cyne smiled at her. "Yes, me." Maria punched him again. "You..." She growled, her eyes gaining a dangerous look. "FINE! I'll come with you but only AFTER Lybra." Cyne's smile only grew. He leaned over and kissed her on the cheek. "I knew you would agree. Truth be told, I wasn't planning to Lybra but I didn't want you to really sit and think on it." Maria stared at him in dumb shock. "What?! You..." She didn't say anything, she just grabbed Cyne's cup and dumped its contents over Cyne's head. Then she turned around and stormed out of the tarven. Cyne chuckled to himself and pat himself dry with some napkin. Nothing less expected from his future wife. |
Now, even in his damp state, Cyne smiled as he thought of the faces gauking at him as she stormed out. He was to concentrated on how he'd house them in their travels. The only weakness he held, was how much he was deeply in love with that crazy girl. Though he was extreemly excited about their adventures, and the bonding they'd get to do.
"Sometimes I wonder." Grumbled Maria, then her voice and eyes grew soft. "I love that guy. even if he is a diffrent level of Devious." She continued to herself, as she gazed at the sky. Seemed to be a nice day to fly, but not this close to Lybra. Mingling with humans was such a dreadfull thing, her inner dragon urged to escape. Sighing, Maria entered the grand gothic castle that loomed over her home town, and rested on one knee infront of the throne of the king, Ithodor. She was wondering, silently how to adress such a silly motion as leaving the day after Lybra. Where would they go? "King, grace me with speach?" Requested Maria. "Oh child, havent I told you to call me father? I mean seriously, child! Someone as adoribly rare as you is at the same level as I! Come, off your knee. Sit." Demanded Ithodor, praisingly. |
Cyne dried himself off the best he could. There was only so much one could do with a bunch of napkins. His glass had been nearly full when Maria decided to dump it on him.
Twenty minutes later, Cyne wander slowly back to the castle, knowing full well that Maria had mostly like gone to report this silly idea of his to his parents. Hopefully his father was still up at this ungodly hour of the night. He wasn't too worried though. His parents would understand. Or at least he hope they did. Cyne stared at the mountains in the distances. It would only be five more days from today. Tomorrow Lybra started and five days of dancing and celebration would make everything hustle and bustle like crazy. Something was waiting out there for him. If there wasn't, then there was an adventure to look forward to. Time to take the road less travelled. |
Maria found herself peering out of one of the castles balcony windos, down at Cyne. "Hi there. Im sorry to have waisted your drink." With a gracefull leap, she hoovered down to where he was. "Sometimes I wonder if you love those mountains more than you love me, you know." She teased, softly punching him in the arm.
"I wish you'd see what I could see, Maria. Then you'd want to skip Lybra all togeather - something that would throw all the dancing an-" Time itself suddenly stoped, and Cyne's face stayed there, just as glowingly wishfull as before. "What the? Who are you, whats happening?!" Maria demanded. "Hush child." Said a soft wisper of the wind. "Im certainly not a chi-" Maria attempted, "When your as old as creation itself, compaired you everyone is a child. Now hush, and listen." Nothing formed before her, but maria was drawn suddenly to the moutains that Cyne had previously gazed on. "There's nothing out there..nothing; nothing.." Said maria in a sleepy, almost sad tone of voice. "There is nothing out there to you, child..But to Cyne, there is everything. But - Without you, there realy is nothing. Do you realize that, child?" Maria blushed slightly. "I..well.." She din't really have words. "Your heritage lies in those mountains, and your afraid to let him see." Said the whispers of the wind. "He has to know. Its a proven fact that oppisates attract, and for a good reson." It continued. "He'll be killed in Rosila, I'll never be welcomed with father and mother again. How can I go back to them, and at such a time as Lybra? I cant bring more sadness into my life..not into their lives." Her gaze left the mountains, and rested on Cyne, and she noticed a soft, motherly face gazing at her. "Go with him tonight, or Lybra this year will be one your very soul will yearn to forget." |
((I think you've lost me again.. xD))
Time resume its normal course. "dancing and and celebrating out the window and leave tonight," Cyne joking laughed? Maria sighed. "Fine, we can go tonight." Cyne blinked and started. "Seriously?" |
(Its okee, dear. It happens alot. XD )
"Yes, cyne. Just..lets go. Forget about Lybra." Her emotion filled eyes flickered at cyme's as she fumbled for an explination she was sure to be demanded of. "Whats the matter with you? Are you ok?" Cyne asked, with a puzzled look. "Im fine, lets just go. Your father and mother are ..well, your parents. Im sure their usual reation will be in store for us when we get back. If we get back." Maria paused and looked at the sky for a moment. |
((xD Okay...))
Cyne's eyebrow raised. This was oddly not like Maria. "May I ask what brings about this change of heart?" Maria fell silent and turned away. "It's nothing." |
