Actually, thats how my favorite author (Diana Wynne Jones) writes (jummping arround). I think linear is best for accademic writing, but its too structured when you're dealing with fiction, especially longer pieces.

Jones... name sounds familiar. What are some of her books? I might have read or few... or maybe I haven't. @[email protected]

Linear makes it sound like a math problem. @[email protected] I have tried a couple times, sometimes it does work sometimes it doesn't. My newest story is sorta following a linear structure... but that is also because I have a timeline I can work with (it's a FMA/HP crossover, I'm looking forward to see how it turns out).

I've also tried with no linear structure, no jumping around before too. Also didn't work out. @[email protected]

Well Jones is a common name, but judging from a FMA fandom, we can start out with the author of Howl's Moving Castle.

Also theres a list in a thread [here].

OH! Yes! I remember her!

I was going to read that book as soon as I can get my hands on it at the library. (the library never has them any copies! Wah!) My friend won't let me borrow hers, but she told me it's an awesome series.

Castle in the Air was the sequel to Howl's right? (Miyazaki also based Laputa off that if I remember correct). I think I read some of her children books... they sound familiar.

Yeah. She sounds like a great writer, and I just need to hop on that train of her work. xD

NOTICE: (not that there are many people here to -read- anything) I have come to the decision that my next project shall be more different characters with a different list(s) and shall be opened in a new thread. *nods*

So yeah basically I'm going to make another thread (after I finish here) and just use many different lists and many different characters. *nods*

Now back to drabble writing. xD

Drabble 52: #49. Candle
Characters: Safara
Pairings: Nope
Location: Angelus

A finger touched the wick of a tall red candle. A second later, the wick flickered and suddenly burn brightly. Safara smiled to herself. She really love doing that. It saved money when it came to buying matches.

Taking a deep breath of the scent candle, she moved on to light the other ones. This was her way of relaxing. She just turned off the lights and one by one, lit each candle until they glowed like fireflies at night. She loved her powers as a Fiamma.

Safara smiled. The candles were her sanctuary.

Drabble 53: #33 Umbrella
Characters: Yi and Deirdre
Pairing: Nah
Location: *stares* Cataraeta

It was raining. Deirdre closed her eyes and just let the water fall on her. She was feeling in a good mood for once. The rain probably had a calming effect on her.

Suddenly the rain stopped and Deirdre's eyes flew open. The reason why the rain stopped was because an umbrella was now over her head.

"Really De, you're gonna get sick if you stand out in the rain too long."

Deirdre scowled for a brief minute. "Yi, I was enjoying the rain."

Yi shook her head. You'll have to enjoy the rain later. Dinner is ready. Now hurry up before I leave with the umbrella."

Yi quickly followed after her friend.

"I found wood for the fire!"
"Great Ambrose. That's probably the best thing you did all day."
"Shut up Kisei."
-Sigh- "We can't exactly start the fire though. The matches are wet."
"Um guys."
"Well then maybe we can find some rocks and get a spark going."
"Good point, Aira. But it's a little hard to see right now."

"Of course we can. Just give a moment to adjust to the dark."

Drabble 55: #53 Lurk
Characters: Byakko
Pairing: *holds up a glass tube* "It's a a little tiny atom in this tube"
Location: Akuma

Byakko loved his ability to shapeshift into the foxes. Granted there were some disadvantages, of course. He was never got much bigger in any of his forms and thus of lacked strength. His favorite form (and strongest) would have be the Kitsune. Mainly because in this form, he had silver fur and three tails. Of all his forms, only the Kitsune grew more tails.

Tonight, Byakko lurked among the shadows of Akuma. His silver fur glimmered under the moonlight. People often mistaken him for a ghost as he darted from shadows to shadow, for they only saw a flash of silver.

Byakko crouch down under a window. His 'family's' latest target was sitting in the room. A writer, a spiritus just like him. He had to be careful. There was no telling on what forums she could take on. If it was stronger then his kitsune form, then he might run into trouble.

Suddenly the window clicked open, and Byakko's heart nearly stopped. He darted away as fast as he could. He couldn't be caught.

He lurked in the shadows from the roof top above, his ears straining to see if he had been caught. A girl with car ears peeked out from the window. "Someone has been lurking in the shadows again," the girl said.

Drabble 56: #62 Cocoa
Characters: Byakko
Pairing: Nope!
Location: A house.

Byakko wasn't entire literally sure how it happened, but for some reason he was in his target's house. Luckily he choose the more common form of a fox this time, otherwise the girl might have noticed that he was the same one following her.

Byakko sniff the air. Chocolate... she was making something with chocolate.

"Here. I made some cocoa for you." The girl laid a bowl full of warm cocoa in front of Byakko. The girl smiled, her cat tail swaying back and forth. Byakko had the suppress the urge to start playing with it.

"I take it you're not going to going to change back huh?"

Byakko nearly choked on the cocoa. He looked straight at her, sending her a false look of "what do you mean?". The girl sighed. "It's kinda easy to tell you're a spiritus. Foxes normally don't go following me around nor do wild ones live in the cities. But if you don't want to, change I understand."

Byakko went back to drinking the cocoa. For some reason, he was starting to get sinking feeling... it better not be the cocoa.

Drabbly 58: #47 Moonlight
Characters: Kyatto
Pairing: *winks*
Location: *draws a blank*

Kyatto was quite fond of Byakko's kitsune form. She loved it really. He probably didn't know it, but it inspired every time he took that form. She particularly liked it when the moonlight reflected off his silver coat.

That is why she is up tonight.

Byakko left he thought she was asleep. Kyatto had woke up right after he left. It didn't feel right anymore, to fall asleep without his presence being near. She didn't worry too much about where he went. Byakko never went far. He just went outside.

For you see, tonight is the full moon. Kyatto discovered that Byakko liked to dance and play when the full moon came out. It was the most beautiful thing she had seen when she had first discovered it.

A smile played on her face as she watched Byakko play under the moonlight, his silver coat shining brightly. Let's celebrate the moon tonight.

Drabble 59: #77 Spider
Character: Aysel and Ravi
Pairing: <-- I'm beginning to think it's pointless to have this here
Location: <-- Same as above.

Aysel was cleaning.

Ravi wasn't.

Aysel didn't mind though.

Though Ravi really should.

Ravi shouldn't be there if he wasn't going to help clean.

But Aysel had a good reason to why she insisted that Ravi stay around.

And Ravi certainly didn't mind that reason.

That reason was... "SPIDER!"

Aysel jumped into Ravi's arms. Oh how she hated spiders.

Ravi just grinned. He certainly didn't mind being around to get rid of the spiders.

Drabble 60: #65 Spilled Ink
Characters: Kyatto
Pairing: Nope
Location: somewhere

Even as a child, ink never sat well with Kyatto. Actually the ink just seems to spill every time she's around.

That is why it wasn't a good idea that her mother had taken her to an ink store. Kyatto, being curious as she is, merely picked up a pen. The pen shot ink out of it, surprising Kyatto who bumped into a shelve. The shelve wobbled and shook before the inks bottles came crashing down. As the ink spilled everywhere, Kyatto got drench in different colors.

"Wah! My ink!" the store owner cried.

It was then, that Kyatto decides she didn't like ink. Especially not spilled ink.

Drabble 61: #84 Rebirth
Characters: Ambrose and Aira
Pairing: Well, gee, I dunno
Location: In their car while driving. xD

"Hey Ambrose, do you believe in rebirth?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"Because Immortalis wouldn't live forever if there was such a thing as rebirth. We would die just like everyone else."
"But you can die. It's a matter of when and how."
"You know as well as I do, that it's almost impossible to kill an Immortalis."
"But that's still a poor reason to why you don't believe in rebirth."
"Do you?"
"Hm?"
"Do you believe in rebirth?"
"I don't know. That's why I asked. Remember? I'm the girl searching for a reason to live, for a reason why I survived."
"I thought that was because you were searching for your sister."
"I don't even know if she's alive."
"Well that's also a poor reason for not having a reason why you believe or don't believe in rebirth."
Sigh. "You're impossible you know that?"
"Yeah. It comes with being an Immortalis."

Drabble 62: #87. Charcoal
Characters: Keb and Avani
Pairing: Nope less you count father/daughter relationship
Location: Somewhere in Angelus

Keb hummed quietly to himself as he picked up a piece of charcoal. "Daddy what's that?" a small voice interrupted him.

Keb looked at his daughter with a smile. Avani's curiosity knew no bounds "This?" He held up the piece of charcoal. Avani nodded. "This is charcoal. I'm using it to draw lines where I'll be painting."

Avani's nodded in understanding. "Can I try Daddy?"

Keb's smile grew. "Of course!" He picked her up and placed her on her lap. Then he gave her the piece of charcoal and let Avani do the rest. As he watched his daughter sketch and draw, Keb couldn't help but feel just a little proud. His daughter was going to be a great artist one day.

Drabble 64: #9 Trash
Characters: Aira, Ambrose, Kisei, Byakko, Kyatto, Ravi, Aysel
Pairing: I don't think so...
Location: I don't know, technically they never all meet at once in the story.

Aysel looked at the pile of trash. She needed someone to take out the trash.

"Ravi could you take out the trash?"

Ravi grunted. "Sure... as soon as... I put... these boxes... away!" He was pushing a cart of pull of boxes towards the door.

"Never mind then Ravi, I'll ask someone else," said Aysel. She went upstairs in search for Kyatto and Byakko.

"Kyatto," she called out opening the door. Kyatto didn't answer, she was too busy staring at the screen, typing away at rapid speed. Something tugged on Aysel's hand. She looked down to see Byakko in his fox form. Byakko was holding up a sign. "She writing. Can you come back later?"

Aysel let out a sigh. "Sure thing Byakko."

She left in search of Aira and Ambrose.

"Hah! I won!"
"I demand a rematch."

Aysel found Aira and Ambrose playing a video game. Kisei was reading in the corner. "Can any of you take out the trash?" she asked. No one seem to hear her.

Aysel signed once more. She really wasn't going to push it. Aysel headed back to the kitchen. She guess that she would take out the trash.

Generally when you start a noun+with + Adj+adj… etc; You do a repetition thing, and start the previous sentence(s) with the same noun. However, I think I have a problem with the previous sentence, so instead I’m going to say change “Various ones” to “Some”- which needs to be done anyways, with the “others.” – so:
Each jar contained something in it. Some had different types of threads of different colors; others had sand, dirt, and wood. There were also jars with feathers, glitter and marbles.

Characters: Ambrose, Kisei, Byakko and Kyatto.
Pairing: *nods*
Location: A high speed chase.

“Alright, which one of you gave her sugar?”
“No idea what you’re talking about.”
“You know exactly what I’m talking about. Kyatto is hyper. She’s only hyper when she gets sugar. I have never given her sugar after I learned that the first time. Now which one of you gave her sugar?”
“Does it really matter?”
“Yes Ambrose. It’s so that I can smack one of you later about it.”
“Calm yourself. We just need to think of a way to calm her down.”
“And how do you suggest that?”
“Well. Hm. Byakko how do you calm Kyatto down?”
“Three ways, one is to let her calm down by herself until the sugar is out of her system. Two is to give her what she wants. And three is to shock her with something surprising or scary.”
“Quick then. Byakko we’re using you as bait?”
“Wait what?! Why me?!”
“Because Kyatto likes you. Ambrose grab Byakko.”
“Fine. This better work.”
“Hey!”

They tied up Byakko to a random chair. “Kyatto!”
“What are you doing Kisei?”
“Calm down Ambrose.”
Kyatto came at high speed. To her delight she saw her favorite person tied up. She pounced.

As Kyatto played with Byakko, Ambrose looked at Kisei. “You know it’s your fault that she’s hyper.” Kisei merely just smiled.
