An attempt to get to know my characters again

Very unoriginal title, I know. XD

In any case, I've been wanting to do some more character development for my oc's, which is why I decided that drabbles would be an excellent way to get to know my characters some more. Hence, this thread~! Hurray! XD

I'm going to try to follow the list in it's current order, for now. I may change that according to how easy I'll be able to continue, but that remains to be seen.
Also, if you read any of my stories, drabble or no, don't hesitate to write a comment or give constructive criticisme. I'm a writer in the making, after all. <3

|| |Loved Ones

Helena Moonwatcher was horridly bored - and truthfully, she really didn't care what her pupils might think about seeing their headmistress resting her forehead against the window in exasperation, like she was doing now. It was uncommonly warm on the schools' island for a day in the fourth month of the new year, and it hadn't taken a lot of effort to find out that some of the younger Fire Embracers had decided that today they were in the mood for tropical weather. Steam was rising out of the steam girds all around the island, and it was a shocking (and somewhat pleasing sight, Nena admitted to herself) to see girls of all ages walk around in their summer dresses. A quick tap on the door of her office caused the silver-haired headmistress to jump up as if caught. Not bothering with appearances, though, she simply called "Enter" to whomever was behind the door, continuing to admire the tanned legs and arms of the many pupils who were her own age.

It didn't take Nena long to identify the decisive step and sweet fragrance, and the young woman turned happily to great her girlfriend, lover and beloved wife. "Cyrra! This is a pleasant surprise," she stood up with a smile, making her way to embrace her most beloved counterpart. "I thought you had courses to give." The fair-haired and fair-skinned woman returned her partners smile, resting her hand against the black woman’s cheek in greeting, before replying, "I could not bear to keep the young ones inside with this weather, Helena Selene. It would have been too horrible for them." Cyrra leaned in, her short blonde hair tickling against her lovers' cheek as she stood on tip-toe to press her lips against Nena's neck. "But that is not why I came," she said while leaning back, pushing Nena's hands away with a laugh as the Moonwatcher raised her eyebrows suggestively, "And neither was that. Tell me, dearest Helena Selene, do you know what day it is?" The other woman blinked lightly, arching her head curiously as she thought it over. "It's the fourteenth day of the fourth month, no? Why do you ask?" Carefully she guided her partner to sit down on one of the chairs at her desk, somewhat disappointed that Cyrra hadn't come to her for some afternoon loving, but still not wanting to break contact. The blonde smiled lightly in reply, "So suspicious, so soon, Helena Selene. But you are correct - it is the fourteenth. Today, I found something quite interesting in the library," her smile widened as she cradled Nena's hand in her lap, drawing circles in her open hand with her finger nail, "In one of the dimension, today is a day for loved ones." Nena's silver eyes widened lightly, remembering something like that, but not having remembered that it was today. "Oh really?" Her girlfriend nodded, "Yes, it seems they call it Saint Valentine's day - although I do not know why. So," Cyrra continued, rising from her chair and taking control, leading Nena carefully towards the window, "because it is a day for loved ones," she carefully pushed the silver haired-woman towards the window, lleaning against her as they both looked outside the window at a group of people, "I decided to invite the loved ones of the one I love." Feeling like she was dreaming, Nena raised her hand, waving at her four childhood friends their partners and children; only to have them all wave back in their typical joyful and chaotic ways. The 24-year old headmistress grinned hugely, wrapped her arm around her girlfriends' waist and kissed the woman happily. "Thank you, Cyrra." The blonde smiled, eyes and cheeks glowing, "You're welcome, loved one."

|| |Ribbon of love

He watched her from the shadows of the library as she tended to her little garden. He noticed how she had used his favourite ribbon to tie back her hair, the silky orange one, that fitted so nicely in her thick blonde locks. Twigs poked out of the holes in the ragged old scarf she always had around her shoulders, these days. She had said that her grandmother had worn that scarf when she first held her, and she considered it to be a good luck charm. His eyes trailed from the golden skin of her face to the swelling underneath her beautifully made brown dress. It was a miracle that they had conceived the same day they decided to make love - and partly he thought it was her doing. No, he knew she had done it, with her earth-bound magicks. It sounded like just the silly thing she'd do, having children with a man she had never even experienced physical love with. He would've thought her nymphomaniac best friend had taught her better, but apparently she hadn't.

All of her friends were insane really, and he smiled to himself as he remembered their reactions to her pregnancy. He'd feared it, really. He was sure he'd first be drowned by the princess and then burned by the queen. Instead they'd started doing that ridiculous thing women tended to do and started squealing and congratulating the both of them. Honestly, he was old enough to be her father! Well, maybe just not that, but he certainly felt that old now, as he watched this 18 year old mother-to-be. And wife to be, he figured, as he eyed the reason he had come outside in the first place.

She had this weird thought in her head that a ribbon meant more than words or any other gesture, and he figured she had just been marvelled by the handfastening the Queen and King had enjoyed. He smiled ruefully - he hadn't even been there as her partner, back then. He only knew her as the annoying little friend of her majesty Princess Merleana, a friend who had a tendency to hug his arm for no apparant reason. Then, he had still thought he'd be forever alone with his books - a 36 year old scholar was not eligible at all. He sighed a little and moved out of the shadows, carefully avoiding the numerous herb patches his young partner had managed to place in the two months of her living with him. "Ginny," he called out softly to her, holding back a little to observe her. And, as usual, the young blonde didn't dissapoint him. She turned abruptly, an extremely joyful smile on her lips as the sun reflected her hair and caught the light in her blue eyes, giving a purple gleam to them that always caught him off guard. "Wrenn," her voice radiated happiness, just like her face, and he wondered how he'd ever gotten through life without her. "I hadn't thought you'd be able to have a break today," she noted quietly, leaving her shrubbery to itself as she walked over to him, "But I'm glad you got to leave your books for a little while, I want to show you something." Slightly nervous, he allowed her to take his free hand and drag him along, already happy that she hadn't paid attention to how strained his voice had sounded earlier. "Oh," he muttered, "is one of your flowers unhappy?" She looked back, frowning at his bluntness, but decided to let it slide. She usually did. And he could never manage to really be cross at her, either. "I'm sorry, it's just really busy today, and with the weather..." He tried to explain, but she waved it away, not interested in excuses when she knew just as well as anyone else how blunt and uncaring he could be. She stopped at the bush of blue roses - causing him to swallow nervously, yet again - and pointed at one that seemed to have grown purple around the edges.

"It's a blushing rose," she giggled, clutching his hand tightly and looking up at his face with such adoration that he had to keep himself from just scooping her up and taking her home. "Oh?" He managed, coughing a little to hide his own blush. She nodded enthusiastically, explaining herself. "Yes, she says she's really happy about something, isn't that cute?" He nodded, wondering if it had been better to not ask the roses anything. "Very cute. Ah, but, Ginny..." her attention had already wavered for a moment as the flower somehow deepened in colour, but her eyes returned to his face as he said her name, "I actually came out to talk to you..." His serious tone made her smile falter, and he groaned quietly at his own stupidity. "Oh? Not something bad, I hope, Wrynn-kun?" Her face had lost some of it's glow, but her voice remained steadily cheerful. He felt himself shudder at how easily she could go from genuine glee to artificial joy, and found himself wanting to walk away.

Annoyed, he stuffed the two ribbons into her hand, crossly glaring at the flowers. "I would've thought the stupid flower would've been more cooperative," he muttered, pointedly not paying attention to her reaction. It took about five minutes for her to make a sound, and when she did, the first thing he heard was a choked peeping sound. "Is... is this why the rose is so happy?" He swallowed hard and nodded, still eyeing the flower, which by now had grown to an even darker purple around the edges, and somehow he found comfort in knowing he was not alone in his emberrassement. "But," she started, and he felt her small hand slip into his, tugging lightly so that he would turn to her. "But what is the purple one for, Wrynn? I mean..." she was trying not to be too hopeful, he noticed, "If I'm not misunderstanding the meaning of the white one, at least." He sighed and turned to her, immediatly noting the tears in her eyes and the quiet joy on her upturned face. "You're not mistaken it, Ginny. I want you to be my wife... and the purple one... it's the colour of the blushing rose, and the colour of your eyes in the sun..." He felt himself blushing even more - and silently cursed at his own immaturity - but his self-hatred faltered as he felt her arms slip around his waist as she hugged him with all her strength. The wetness on his vest told him she was crying, and he patted her head a bit unfomfortably. "So... what do you think?" He coughed a little - comforting was not his forte - as he looked down on the top of her head, noting the pinkness of her skin there and feeling his mouth going dry.

Once again it took her a while to reply, but this time her face radiated about as much as it had done when he had called for her before. "What do you think of a Rose ceremony, Wrynn?" Her enthusiasme was peeked, and he couldn't even reply as she started dragging him inside. "We could use that blushing flower - I'm sure she would like to sacrifice herself for that purpose."
"But Ginny, she's probably wilting soon..."
"Well, yes, but that just means we have a lot of work to do to arrange the marriage for tomorrow."
"TOMORROW?! Oh no... "
"Why, do you have something better to do than marrying me?"
"Well..."

|| |Nightly chocolates
BEWARE: Semi-mature content.

Slowly, the brunette placed the ball of chocolate in her mouth, allowing the little piece of candy to melt there as she suckled it lazily. "This is actually pretty good," Luna noted, looking up from the mess of sheets as he returned from the bathing room. "Oh?" Teriad smiled and crawled over the bed, laying down on his stomach next to her. He picked one of the chocolates out of the neatly decorated box and popped it into his mouth. "Hmm, you're right," he nodded, resting his chin in his hand as he looked at her. "Why did Ginny send us these? I would've thought little miss sweet tooth would have kept them for herself."

The brunette shrugged, popping another one in her mouth in the meantime. "Hmm, don't know, really." Her disinterest caused him to look up, his blue-grey eyes locking with hers. "Is that so?" He asked, interestedly. She didn't seem to pick up on it, though, and instead, rolled onto her back to stretch her long, lightbrown limbs. "Is that so hard to imagine, dear?" He knew she was watching him from underneath her brown bangs, so he simply smiled at her, instead of indulging in the lopsided grin he felt coming. "It just made me realize how much you've changed. You no longer want to know everything about everyone." He inched closer to her, lovingly kissing the star tattoo on her cheek - the sign of her honesty - before exchanging a deep, loving kiss with her. "I like that about you," Teriad admitted, clear voice dropping an octave. Luna, in turn, chuckled lightly. "I've changed?" She reached out to his face, caressing the 5-day long grey-brown stubbles on his cheek. "You do realize that we haven't left this room in about a week, right?" The poor man tried to hide his blush, but failed miserably, causing Luna to chuckle again. "Well," he boasted, "Maybe I did that all the time with other girls."

Luna managed to wait an entire second before bursting out in laughter. "You must be joking!" Teriad sighed a little, knowing very well he was lying, but slightly upset that she had dismissed it so easily. "Why couldn't it be true? I have had other women, you know." He knew his cheeks were still tinged red, but he really didn't mind. Never had, with Luna. “Yes, I know. But....,” she started, pushing a piece of chocolate in his mouth and giving a kiss after it, “I know you've liked me for the longest time...” Teriad almost choked on the sweet, barely managing to swallow it through without further damage. “Excuse me?!” In all their conversations, this had never come up, and suddenly he wished it hadn't popped up now, as he felt the blood rush to other places of his body - and draining out of his face. Luna giggled and leaned in, leaving a long, sensual kiss on his shoulder.

He knew he had to ask, but was afraid to. “You read me?” The brunette looked up at her beloved, noting the strain on his voice, and immediatly she put him at ease. “Dear, no offense, but back then I didn't like you enough to want to know you. So no, I didn't read you.” The muscles in his shoulders relaxed, and he crawled nearer to her, taking her firm body in his arms and holding her close. “Then how did you know?” There was no use in denying it, after all, he had liked her. Luna shrugged lightly and turned around in his arms, facing his chest and lighly kissing it. “No one seemed as bothered with my slutty ways as you. Friends leave eachother be to make their own mistakes. You weren't my friend, nor family, but you seemed more angered about it than everyone else.” She crawled up to him, pressing her full length against him and entangling her legs with his. It seemed ridiculous to imagine like he hadn't loved her for a long time - though Luna somewhat regretted she hadn't loved him before. “But tell me, my Teriad....” she started, a teasing smile on her face, “what could we do with these chocolates...?”

Once again the blood rushed through his body, but this time to a region far more southern as he kissed her neck. “Oh, I think I have some ideas...” The smile widened. “I was hoping you would~”
