Drabbles For My Thoughts~ :D
Okay, I really feel like writing, but sadly, even though I have tons of regular stories I need to finish, I just have absolutely no inspiration to write for any of those. e ___ e;; So, I'm just going to do some drabbles in this thread. They'll most likely be longer than 100-200 words...probably more like short stories, but I'll try not to make them TOO long. XD;; It totally depends on how into the theme I get while writing...
YAY FOR ROMANCE THEME! <3 Oh, and please note some of the characters in the couples will be OCs from my good friend CeiEllem. Quote:

4. The Language of Flowers
Lillian sighed, twirling one of her fingers through her white-blonde hair, obviously completely absorbed in thought. She couldn't help but wonder what Charles was doing...or what he had been up to lately at all. Ever since he went away to Feles' castle a little over a year ago in the event of Ruby's capture, she rarely ever saw him. Of course, she knew that was mostly because of the fact that being gone for so long he had lost his job and moved into the castle. To comfort herself, Lillian just gave the excuse that he was probably absorbed in the library of the palace, which was probably immense. No matter what she told herself, however, the mage was saddened and lonely. She was certainly a sociable lady, but didn't feel for anyone how she felt for Charles. If only he still lived in his old house...then she'd be able to think of better reasons to visit him. "Twenty-Four..." The florist breathed as she stood and looked around at the plethora of plants that furnished her shop and home. "I'm twenty-four years old, and I'm not married yet." Picking up a pot of hyacinths as she roamed about the room, she began talking to herself (or rather, to the plant), voicing her inner grieving. "All the other women I know are married or at least in a couple or sorts," She told the beautiful flower in her hands, "and most of them are younger than me..." Suddenly she stopped, a pained expression forming on her face. "What if I'm...too...too old? What if he isn't interested?" As quickly as this worry had appeared, however, it vanished, her eyes softening. "How silly of me...Charles isn't the kind of person to love someone on looks or age..." Even so, she didn't seem completely assured. Lillian shook her head at the silliness of her thoughts, starting toward the door of her shop. "I'll just take a walk to clear my head," she decided, "I need to finish my carnations, and I'm far too distracted..." Closing her shop, Lillian hadn't gone far at all when who should she run into but Charles himself. Her hazel eyes went wide with surprise. Right after thinking about him, the other mage had appeared! What a odd coincidence. "Charles!" She exclaimed, beaming pleasantly at the golden haired man, "it's been far too long! What brings you out here?" Charles looked a bit startled, as he hadn't really been paying attention, but looking down at Lillian, he smiled as well. "Oh, hey, Lil! It's good to see you! I was actually going to give Clarice and Alyx a visit..." Pausing, he added, "Speaking of which, did you know that Clarice is pregnant?" "No!" Lillian gasped, looking excited. Charles nodded, "It's true, and I was actually thinking that I could get her some flowers to say congratulations...your flowers last so long thanks to your magic, and I know Clarice loves the smell of hyacinths..." "I'll be more than happy to make a bouquet for free," She responded, excitedly taking his hand and practically dragging him into her shop, "Come in, come in! It's getting late, why don't you stay for dinner? I really want to catch up with you! We...never talk anymore..." Charles searched her eyes for a moment, as if detecting something else in her words, but then just smiled softly. Sometimes, he felt like he was missing something with her...almost as if Lillian was speaking a while other language. If that was true, he didn't doubt that it was the language of flowers. Flowers were her life, after all. She worked with them, loved them, smelled like them, and looked like one, as well. "I'd like that, very much." |
11. Knight in Shining Armor on a White Horse
Prince Guy Saffir (formerly known as Aylmer until his recent wedding with Ruby) was beyond ecstatic that his parents were going home to their kingdom. As much as he loved them, they were embarrassing him! His mother kept telling his new wife stories of silly things he did as a child, and his father just laughed and even encouraged her, sometimes reminding her of especially ridiculous little details that she had forgotten. Which, of course, would result in her gasping, exclaiming that he was absolutely right, and give an even more in depth recollection of whatever superfluous event the queen was recollecting. So his wide grin really was genuine as he embraced his mother and father tightly for what would be the last time in a long while. As the king and queen were stepping into their carriage, however, they paused. The king looked as if he was just remembering something, and turned toward his wife. "Dearest," He asked her casually (although it was pretty obvious this was a rehearsed scene), "Are we forgetting something?" "Oh yes! Yes, of course!" She replied, turning to face her son for the final time, "I forgot to tell you that we brought pancakes for you! She's in the stable." Guy's eyes went wide in disbelief. "Pancakes?" He repeated, his voice high with elation. "Are you serious? Ruby! Ruby! I have to introduce you to Pancakes!" His parents laughed as they entered their carriage and it almost immediately clattered off down the road. "Pancakes?" Ruby repeated, looking more than a little confused. She was going to ask if he was feeling alright, but the prince, caught up in his excitement, ushered her to follow him and he took her hand before starting off toward the stables. He would have ran, but he knew that would be a terribly impolite thing to do to his princess, and so contented himself to simply speed walk. It couldn't have been five minutes before they arrived at the stables, and immediately Guy burst inside, looking around him. From his stall, Leonardo the griffin chirped, excited to see his master enter. Guy loved Leonardo, that was certainly true, and visited him constantly, feeding him apples whenever he happened to have any. So, naturally, when the prince brought Ruby to a shimmering and beautiful white stallion the next stall over, he wasn't pleased. In fact, he was completely jealous. The griffin chirped at the prince, stamping his feet and making clicking noises in an attempt to get his master's attention, but Guy was far too enveloped in telling the princess about the white horse. "She was given to me as a present when I was just learning how to ride a horse! She's one of my best friends, and I almost didn't come to Celest because I knew I'd miss her so much..." Pausing, he smiled sheepishly at the princess, adding, "Of course, then I met you." Ruby blushed in response to this, stroking the mare's soft mussel and smiling. "She really is beautiful, Guy...she seems like a sweetheart." Pancakes whinnied happily at the comment, as if she was flattered at what the princess had said. Guy stood there, seemingly admiring the stunning steed, before he suddenly exclaimed, "Let's ride her!" Of course, the redheaded princess was a little shocked by the sudden exclamation, however barely had time to think about this before the prince had gotten a pair of reigns, strapped a saddle to her back, and began leading the stallion out. The only thing that stopped him was a frustrated yank at his fluffy hair from Leonardo. The griffin gave a sharp chirp as he did so, and Guy frowned, stopping to look at Leonardo. After a second, his expression fell into a sympathetic pout. "Awe, I'm sorry, Leo!" He apologized, "I just haven't seen Pancakes in so long! I promise I'll take you out, next!" Rubbing the griffin's beak, he added, "and I'll come back and visit you later tonight, too! I'll be sure to bring you some apples. Alright?" It looked as if Leonardo was going to remain stiff in his jealousy, however when he next clicked his beak at the royals, it was lighter, signifying that the griffin approved of the prince's promise. Once outside the stable, Guy hopped onto his mare, grinning happily as he reached down and (quite literally) swept Ruby off her feet and into his arms atop the stallion. His wife giggled, kissing him on the cheek. "Now all you need is some armor," she joked. |
98. Unexpected Love
When Hestia and Zephyr had given their little music performance, Kit hadn't expected Ailuros to ask him for a dance. Sure, they had gone to the Yule ball together, but she had told him it was just because she didn't have anyone to go with that prompted her proposal. Back then, the sprite prince had felt it was a logical reason for to ask him, and feeling the same way, had accepted. This dance, however, had been different. When he had twirled across the dance floor with Ailuros, Kit had actually felt a little...flustered. Of course, he had done an excellent job of hiding it. Now, that night while he was lying in bed, the prince stared up through the darkness atr the ceiling, too occupied with his thoughts to sleep. Even now, in late December, he was still dwelling on the pains of losing to Chay in his love for Ellen. Why, when he saw Ailuros, did he feel differently about her? In fact, ever since she had asked him to accompany her to the Yule ball he had began to see her in a new light. Sure, she could be nice sometimes, (with extreme emphasis on the rarity of these occasions), but more often than now she had proved to be bitter, harsh, ill-tempered, overall unpleasant to be around, and probably the meanest sprite he had ever met! He had noticed that Ailuros smiled a lot more lately...particularly when she was talking to him. Kit signified that his opinion of her was changing, but couldn't comprehend exactly what it was that he felt for her. It certainly wasn't the same thing he used to feel for Ellen, but it was somehow similar. It can't be... he thought, his face going red at the idea, Am I falling in love with Ailuros? In all his years, Kit never could have predicted this. |
100. Glomp!
Mustela hid in waiting, her eyes shining mischievously as she peered out from behind a decent amount of bushes. Mephistis' house was in sight, and as soon as he came out, she'd pounce, catching him completely unaware. The sprite couldn't wait to see the look on her friend's face! All she had to do now was be patient. Even though Mustela was notorious for being completely and hopelessly impatient, it couldn't be too hard, even for her...right? It would just be a few minutes or so. Hours passed...still no Mephistis. Irritated and officially dubbing this a waste of her time, Mustela stood, muttering some frustrated words under her breath. Brushing the first off of her pants, she turned. Her eyes went wide from under the messy mop of hair that concealed them, but she had barely even been able to do that much as she was plowed right back into the tangles of greenery. "Celestials, you should have seen the look on your face!" Mephistis laughed, propping himself on his hands and looking down at her, a triumphant smirk plastered on his face. Getting over the initial shock of the attack, Mustela scowled up at him and crossed her arms over her chest, beyond frustrated that her plan of action had backfired so successfully. "How did you-" "Easy," Mephistis explained, cutting her off, "I wasn't at home, saw you and realized what you were up to, then hid behind you and waited." "AH!" Mustela screamed in frustration, kicking her legs and wriggling her way out from underneath him. "That's absolutely no fair! Someday, Meph, I swear I'll get you back, and when that time comes, you won't know what hit you!" He laughed, grabbing her in a headlock and rubbing his fist against her head, amused by her attempts at freeing herself by flailing her arms around. "Sure you will, Stela! Just keep on dreaming." |
19. Pair of Doves
Guy dismounted his horse, glad to be back in Celest. The prince, or rather king now that Ruby's mother had passed on, had been away on "official business" for a new weeks, and was just longing to see his family. As if on cue, a sound most pleasant to his ears carried across the courtyard: "Daddy! Daddy!" A wide smile spread across his lips and his eyes shone as he whirled around to face his daughter. The small girl of five years was running at full speed toward him, her red hair that very much resembled her mother's whipping wildly behind her. "There's my girl!" He greeted, scooping her up in his arms as soon as she was close enough and kissing her on the cheek, which had inherited the freckles that adorned his. The child giggled, the small white wings on her back fluttering with delight as Guy spun her around. Her father laughed with her, but stopped when he spotted Ruby walking toward them. Adjusting the little princess on his hip, the kind went to join his queen. He wrapped an arm around her waist and leaned in to give her a kiss. "I missed you," he told her. "And I you," she responded, ruffling her own, large white wings. Gazing upon the pair of doves whom he loves more than anything, Guy knew how lucky he truly was. |
39. Piggyback Ride
Thanks to Cornelia, Luke came to Celest far more often, thus allowing the young sprite to visit his friend, Garnet. Today, it being a beautiful spring day, the two were outside playing in the grounds about the palace. They ran about for a long while, laughing, chasing one another, partaking in games and visiting the animals in the stables before getting tired and sitting down to rest. "I'm glad we're friends," Luke told Garnet, grabbing his feet and rocking as he beamed at his friend. "So am I," the young prince responded with a smile, leaning back on his hands. After a moment, he suggested, "Hey, how about we go inside? Maybe we could go get something to drink." Luke agreed, as he was a little thirsty, and stood. When Garnet rose to his feet as well, he put his hands behind him. The small sprite positively beamed as he climbed onto Garnet's back, giggling as he was hoisted into the air and given a piggyback ride to the castle. Luke wrapped his arms around the teenager's neck for support, enjoying the feel of the wind in his face. |
77. Stalking
Clarice was honestly trying not to let it bother her (or really not think about it at all), but inside of her she felt the cold clutches of dread. For whatever reason she felt as if something terribly was going to happen and she would be completely powerless to stop it. This feeling had increased to dangerous levels ever since Mephistis and Mustela had discovered the body of the dead guard, leading everyone to believe that Rainer was hiding somewhere in the castle. Tonight, however, for the Yule Ball everything was as it should be. Clarice danced with Alyx and everyone was having a splendid time. Finally, she felt completely secure for the first time since they learned that Rainer was the serial killer loose in Celest. The ball, she decided, was going to be a night to remember. This thought was proved to be correct when Ruby appeared, turning out not to be dead after all. Sadly, all good things have to come to an end, and soon the ball eventually came to a closure. Smiling, Alyx and Clarice walked hand in hand through the hallway. Once they arrived at the blonde’s room, the two reluctantly bid each other goodnight with an affectionate kiss. The female aligeri didn’t want to part with her love, but found herself slipping behind her door, and with a final smile and goodnight, shut it softly. The euphoria from the night still seemed to loom upon Clarice as she undressed and hung up her beautiful white and blue gown, humming all the while. Soon, the pleasant feeling was replaced simply with sleepiness, and pulling on her nightgown retired to her bed. Clarice wasn’t really sure how long she was asleep for, but what did wake her was the soft sound of her door clicking shut. Her eyes fluttered open, and the aligeri first realized it was still late, because the darkness in the room was very thick. The second thing she realized was what, or rather who, had entered her room, for the dark figure had approached her bedside. His large eyes penetrated her soul, and her heart skipped. “R-Rainer?” She choked, fear entering her heart and eyes wide, “what are you doing here?” He didn’t answer her question, but his intent was made painfully clear as he mechanically removed his tunic and tossed it to the floor before reaching out for her. Rainer brought himself close to her, quietly telling her, “If you don’t struggle, it won’t hurt.” |
