Song: Black Betty by Spiderbait Who: Alex Her vision was blurry, but not enough that she couldn't see the man in front of her lunge. He was slow and messy, and she expended no amount of energy to sidestep him and grab his shirt, using his own momentum to heave him out of her way. She heard another behind her, turning just in time to catch the right hook aimed for her temple, twisting the wrist and flipping the owner of it on top of the other who had attacked her. Yet a third was on her, and it was all she could do to put up her arms to protect her body from the rapid punching, grunting in distaste. The rest of the bar wasn't exactly helpful. They encircled the foursome, jeering and roaring with approval at the underdog's ability to dodge and counter the blows directed at her. Not all were so amused, and she could dimly hear a cold and angry voice in her ear, asking why she didn't fight back. Another grunt, and she paid it no mind, as the owner of the voice was why she was in a bar at all. She rolled down to her back, planting her booted feet into the stomach of her attacker and propelling him over her head and onto a table. Slowly getting back to her feet, she wavered, hearing Oz yelling at someone about a weapon; her hazy confusion was penetrated by a dull pain in her right leg. Bleary eyes shifted downwards, staring blankly at the small pocketknife sticking out of her calf. Distantly, she could hear the old seadog groan, commenting that the fight was officially over. He knew. He knew just as she did; as the spot of crimson bloomed on her cargos, her eyes dilated, and the heavy blanket of drunkeness became a mantle of righteousness. Even as the familiar voices raised in question, her expression became calm, her lips drawn in a grim line as Oz explained the one thing her attackers hadn't counted on: Alex never attacked until first blood was drawn. Now the game was over. Now she'd fight. |

Song: Sahasrara by Shoji Meguro (Digital Devil Saga OST) Who: RuiZhi Destruction; it was palpable. It wasn't the post-apocolypse that Hollywood had dreamed of; there was no twisted metals, the sky wasn't filled with debris and the denziens that survived weren't filthy and malnutritioned. Most of the metal and plastic of the town had been burned into nothing - even the atmosphere would be hard pressed to find any residue. The sky was a clear blue, one that reminded him of his idol, who was still back in Shinkami. Taking a light breath, the young man knew it wasn't time to be nostalgic; there were wounded to tend to. That was his job, to make sure those who had survived were healthy, both in terms of surviving their encounter with the Supremists and to make sure there were no manifestations of human virii. Earthen brown eyes looked over to his sister from beneath round glass frames, lifting a hand to catch the salve she tossed at him. "That's delicate." "So are you, kiddo. Chin up." The young doctor smiled, palming the jar with a nod. The casualties were few on the Hierachy's side, and his immunity to their curse - Luna's Gift, as it were - made him ideal for the job. "They aren't going to be happy to see us." The woman snorted, green eyes twinkling. "They never are." "Too bad. We're all they have." |

Song: Deep River by Utada Hikaru Who: Alex His breathing was soft and rhythmic, her own matching his with the rise and fall of his slender chest. He was warm, a constant comfort...at least, when his eyes were closed and he wasn't working. His heartbeat was gentle music beneath her ear, the slow lull of it telling her that he was sleeping, or very close to it. That pleased her; he didn't often sleep this way, with his arm wound around her back. He didn't hold her much, but it made the times that he did even more special. It was truly amazing, how far they'd come. It started with the virus, so long ago now; the rage that he was attacked, the understanding that his brilliant blue eyes would haunt her for all her days had just been the start. The demons - the scars he still bore from saving her life on more than one occasion - brought her to the school, by his own choosing. Their paths had been so different; she had never dreamed her vagabond trail would end with the white-haired doctor, who slumbered so peacefully by her side. There were no nightmares when she was with him. No thoughts of war, no desire to leave, nothing but a warm peace of mind of who she was when she was with him. That sustained her, to support him in all he did. She told him she loved him, and he would only say that he knew; she had been with him long enough to know that his acceptance of her love was his acknowledgement of his own. That was enough. |
Oooh, I see. o 3o I just seperated it in my mind, GO ME! 8D

Song: Caribbean Blue by Enya Who: RuiZhi He did not know how to swim, so he'd never join them; that didn't mean he didn't enjoy to watch everyone else. His sister, screaming and laughing as his brother-in-law would pick her up and dive into the water; his brother, showing off for his flavor of the month; his boyfriend, who went between keeping him company and chasing anyone within reach with a squirtgun. Sometimes they were joined by other students and staff, but this was the usual crowd. They loved the ocean more than any man-made pool, and it was certainly easier on the eyes to gaze over the winking diamond blanket of the beach than the cement structure otherwise. Sometimes he'd get lost in thought, daydreaming about being on a boat, overlooking the cerulean churn of the waters...but that often brought back memories of his first voyage here, and the second via helecopter that was far less glamorous. Despite that, he always found peace to watch his loved ones, swept away in the joy of their summer days. |

Song: Valentine by Martina McBride Who: Crystal The flower girl had never thought she'd find love in a noble; even less, she had never dreamed a noble could ever love her in return. He had proved her wrong on so many accounts, and she was so very happy to be wrong in these instances. He had forsaken his name, his status, for her; she had put her faith in him, her trust and her tender heart. It had seemed an unfair exchange to her, that she was receiving more than he, but when he looked at her with his soulful eyes, when he held her...she felt it even more. He had, in his time with her, been afraid that her lack of seeing her self-worth would end with her leaving him for 'his own good.' It would never come to pass, as Crystal's love was everything he hadn't known love could be. It was not the all encompassing everything read in books; her love was softer, sweeter, the comfort of a warm fire on a cold night, the inviting embrace on a lonely night. And he...he was everything she'd ever wanted, everything she had ever dreamed of and needed. Even her near fatal illness had not kept her from him. She would give him all of her unconditionally; that was how they loved one another. |

Song: Lux Aeterna (Twin Towers Remix/Requiem for a Tower) - Clint Mansell Who: Chrys War. She charged, blind from rage, but her body didn't need sight. Muscles clenched and extended, gripping the weapon of Chaos, spinning, thrusting, disembowling with precious little effort. Her face was perfect and unmoving, a picture of nothingness as enemy after enemy was felled. It was a pity to waste so much manpower, but they would not relent; it didn't matter if they were man, animal or inbetween. If it was in her way, it died. The weight of the other soul trying to return to its owner was crushing, but she couldn't let it go, not yet. It was his life that allowed her to fight now, to unleash everything, and she didn't expect to survive it. Her survival wasn't important anymore. The purpose for her being - what she had become - was less than a mile behind her, and she'd return to him what was rightly his after the threat was removed, and only then. The sound of skin tearing reached her ears, and she while she couldn't feel the pain anymore, she could tell by the way her bones were shifting and the sudden enhancement of her senses that the change was coming. Ally or enemy, they had to move, had to run, or none would survive this one-woman war. |

Song: Ending (Tribute) by Martin O'Donnell & Michael Salvaton Who: Alex It'd been far too long since she'd seen him. Standing there in the soft fall of light from outside, he was alone with her in the hallway, icy blues muted into a softer sky hue. She was gazing at him from inches away, having just hugged him; he held her hands in his, watching her. "A proposal?" she repeated. He nodded slowly, pristine white hair brushing over his face. "Stay with me." "That's terribly sweet," she gave him a puzzled smile, "but I hardly think Norman would accept that as an excuse on why I can't go out on the field. 'Sorry, no-can-do, I promised...I'd...s-stay...'" Trailing off, her eyes grew wider by the second, brilliant shades of green brightening unnaturally, breath caught in her throat. Her head moved in slow motion, intense gaze falling onto the hands that were being held. He finished putting the band over her left ring finger then, expression impassive despite her suddenly tear-ladden lashes. "Is that a yes?" Her eyes wavered, mouth working without words. After several heartbeats, she nodded, a single tear falling between them. "Yes," she whispered. "I'll stay with you." |

Song: Theme of the Advancing Army by Konami Kukeiha Club The waves crashed, pushing and churning, pressuring the make up of the boat to break, to give, to bend. Under her command, the rickety old ship was tossed in the waves but it did not yield to the demands of the blue beyond; the wood groaned against the constant beating of ocean water, the spray soaking the crew, threatening to drown many and making good on its promise, but that was before she took over. She did not yell, but her voice carried, drowning the water unto itself. She did not panic, despite the angry and frantic tsunami of crushing water that poured over the boat. Her feet did not move, even though the ocean tossed the ship, trying in vain to careen the wooden contraption into the narrowly exposed rocks. Green eyes stared unwavering into the distance, challenging the sharp blasts of yellow and purpe lightning, unfettered by the swollen murky clouds, without mercy unto the dark and fathomless depths of her opponent. She stood against the ocean, and she would not be bested. |

Song: Criss-Cross by Yuki Kajiura Who: Alex It is magical, they had said. It is dangerous, they had said. Only a skilled magic user can utilize its power. So why the hell was she standing in the clearing, the oh-so dangerous orb clutched in her hand, with magic oozing out of every pore in her body? Her mind had ached. Another presence had pushed its way inside, and fed off of something within her. Irame had recognized what was happening; no sooner had the elven woman thrown up the barrier than a scalding blast of power pulsed out of the Italian human's body like a nuclear wave. It beat relentlessly against the shield, cracking and fragmenting under the weight of that unbridled magic. Her loved ones were behind that invisible magic wall trying to stave her own power, but Alex couldn't help it. She was grinning. And as her wicked laughter challenged the indignant shrieks of those above, gold-rimmed eyes rolling skybound to survey the demi-humans wheeling there, she knew without a shadow of a doubt: She would kill them all. |

Song: Make a Move by Lost Prophets Who: Neil His life was defined by words. Selfish, egocentric, impassive, uncaring, self-pitying, misery, loss. So many words, so little meaning in his mind. Only things spoken by voices. They meant nothing, the sound of mindless droning that had ceased to make sense. And yet, he was made of these words and their implications. Still...he did not care. Actions spoke louder than words, as the saying went, and it was truth. No one could reach him, none that were not already within his protective circle around his heart. She had once told him that he had hands for delicate and precious things, a fond statement of compliment and consideration. He hadn't thought much of it then - he had been more interested in things far more grand and obvious than little knick knacks - but it came back to him now. As his rough fingers rolled over a small, perfect glass replica of Laoise, her beloved garter snake, he realized that he had missed the bigger picture in all his efforts to make some noise. He was quiet now. Defined by words he neither listened to nor heeded, but he was making his own story. No one had to read it, no one had to like it, but to let go of all those words he cared little for but had held dear to his heart, it meant the world to him. |

Song: Six Underground by Sneaker Pimps Who: Astaroth She moved in the way a perfect woman should: light of step; a swivel of voluptuous hips in just the right roll; back straight with a generous chest held forward; shaped arms flowing around her body like an invisible wind. Beauty in motion, elegance defined, a vision of dark attraction that plagued artists in the form of pain-staking murals and sweated sculptures. A muse, a lady, a velvet something undefined. She was an angel in all the ways she was not; a demon in all the ways she was. Loyal to two - herself counted against the impressive number - bound to the world for mortal eyes to admire only when she chose, flippant that her bonds were her own choosing. None other could truly fathom to lay claim to her without her blessing. And so she walked the world of men, one Fallen of many laying chaos among the beloved of the one who had discarded them, a greater enemy to a larger cause. |
