Sarah's Site Here

Garden Spells Page Here

As soon as I saw this on the shelf at the book store, right between two others, whose names escape me, because Garden Spells just jumped out. I knew I had to read it, and soon. I reluctantly asked for it as a christmas gift, and waited to read it. Once I did, however, I fell in love immediately.

Quote:
GARDEN SPELLS is so tender and enchanting, it drew me in on page one, and held me captivated—without letting me go for even a minute—until the end. I fell in love with Sarah Addison Allen’s writing, and her world. She believes in love, and that’s her magic: She conjures a garden of moon vine and angel’s trumpet,
fills it with characters who need each other, and writes so well you’ll never forget any of them.
New York Times Bestseller - Luanne Rice
I may Sarah Addison Allen's books a lot because I feel a connection with the protagonists. I've always dreamed of living in a small southern town, with a garden and being all settled. I also have a part of me that wants to travel and fall in love, though, at the same time.

But it feels like the author took all my dreams and put them on paper, in the most wonderful way she possibly could have.

Magic Gardens? Secret Closets? I ate it up.

Speaking of Secret Closets...

The Sugar Queen

When Her second book came out recently, I was ecstatic! I bought it immediately, and read it in a couple of days. It lived up to Garden Spells immediately, though the first is still my favorite. I again felt a connection with Josey, the protagonist, but not as much as I had with Claire in Garden Spells.

Quote:
Allen’s second bewitching offering...is a candy jar of magical charactersand mystical adventures. As in Allen’s previous work, there’s an element of the supernatural (self-help books that literally follow one around; tears that sprout mysterious tropical flowers), and again it works. Words such as sweet, charming and delightful are weak accolades for such a pleasurable book.
-Publishers Weekly
Anyway. I love these books. Read them? Like them? Hate them?

Oh I am going to add these to my list of want to read. These look wonderful, thank you. I may not get a chance to read them for a year, as my unread book pile is getting quite large. Even for me. Giggle, maybe I can find them on my ereader, that would be some much easier...the ereader is an easy storage device to.
