Okay this is to discuss one of my favorite Authors T.A. Barron.

For me it all started with The Ancient One, which remains one of my favorite books, and from there I devoured everything he wrote.

So is there anyone else out there who has read his works? We can discuss specific books but let's try not to spoil them for anyone though, okay? Let's just get them interested enough to go read the books themselves! =D

Well this is depressing, does no one know who he is? He wrote The Lost Years of Merlin Series, the Great Tree of Avalon trilogy...

T.A. just came out with a new book that I believe is going to be part of a series. It's called Merlin's Dragon, has anyone read it yet? I have it sitting at home but due to school and work I haven't had time to start reading it yet ^_^;

I remember reading some of his books middle school and liking them. But unfortunately I don't remember much more than that.

(please don't double-post)

I did, and I'm slightly surprised no one else has. He did a merlin series that I loved. And I read the ancient one. I don't know if I'll read any of it again, but I can't bear to part with them yet.

Unfortunately that was a few years ago and I had borrowed it from a teacher who didnt have the rest of the series so I never got around to reading the last two

The lost Years of Merlin is a good series. I have read the whole series and it is very good. If you love magic books this one will be great for you. if you ever come by it read it. read my other book forum Eon: Dragoneye reborn. They are both good.

So has anyone out there read Merlin's Dragon? It sounded kinda like a prequel to the Merlin series, I was wondering if it is. Sadly the book is still sitting on my shelf waiting to be read, there is just too much to do and not enough time!

I read The Lost Yearsof Merlin a while back and liked it. They went a little slowly, but were entertaining nonetheless. I really just like that it's Merlin; somehow it wouldn't be nearly as cool if it were just a completely original character.

I don't know why, but then I really couldn't get into The Great Tree of Avalon... This was a while ago though, so I may have to give it another shot.

I've never heard of Merlin's Dragon before, but I'll have to check it out now!

I have to agree, as much as I love original characters there is just something so mystical and intriguing about Merlin, it would have been a completely different story had it been anyone but him.

I liked the Great Tree of Avalon because it's based in the same world as the Merlin series, once I find something I like I tend to stick with it. XD Plus the more that is written about a place the more alive it becomes to me and I love thinking that somewhere out in the universe these kinds of places could exist.

Yeah, I just looked at the book jacket for Merlin's Dragon, and it actually sounds like it is going to be written from the perspective of the dragon, Basil (I can't remember exactly but isn't there a dragon in the other books? Does anyone know if it's the same dragon?) The little blurb mentions Merlin and the Great Tree of Avalon....oh heck I'll just type it up XD
