Do you still read bed time stories? I am reading my husband The Book of Three at night before bed, and he is reading me some Neil Gaiman short stories. It is amazing how wonderful it is to do, really try it. Any way am I the only one still wanting bd time stories?

I don't actually read bed time stories, unless it is for my little brother.
My older brother and his girlfriend actually do though.

I usually read all day, so I dont have the need or the desire to read before going to bed. Also, I usually go to sleep late at night, therefore no time to do so.

Ahh but these are special stories, Like I am reading him my favorite book as a young teen. He is reading me his favorite author. I had a feeling I was one of a very few people that do this.

I tell my sister stories when she goes off to bed lol. ITs a fun thing, being creative, coming up with stuff on the spot

I'll read a chapter or 2 before nodding off to sleep.I find it helps me to relax, much better than a dvd.

I don't actually read to anybody before going to bed, but sometimes I will read a couple chapters out of whatever I'm reading to help me get to sleep.

When my sister was little I would tell her the mythology I was reading on long car trips till she fell asleep. We would look out the window, and I would point out the constellations that went with the stories.

I normally read a bit before bed, but its always just whatever I'd been reading in the day. I try to stay away from creepy stories though... My imagination tends to overreact in the dark. Sometimes I make up my own stories as I'm falling asleep. It helps me relax. ^_^

I read at nightime when I can't sleep. Creepy stories don't scare me, its the nightmares I make in my head that make me feel scared D:
My dad used to tell me myths when I was younger :] [By the way, am I really staying on the topic?]

I recall those times, then going to reading a book half out loud then just reading it, now its I just come up with things on my own so in a way I still do tell myself stories, odd but it gets me tired. Likely why I can make characters with such deep stories is due to I start going through those stories and revamping them or adding a different twist to them.

I don't usually read books before bed anymore, just because I don't have any books that I haven't read, and I try to save them for times when I'm bored at school or on the road or something. Still, though...I'm not above popping out some item made to give me wireless internet access and read some fanfiction...which I hate, mind you. I HATE fanfiction. I'm just terribly addicted to it...

Its funny, I can't read to myself before bed, well I can the problem is more I can't stop reading before bed. However, when my husband reads to me, I get all sleepy and cozy. And if I am the one reading, he makes me stop so he can sleep. It is a totally different feeling than when I read to myself. When I read for me, I get all awake and energized, but if it is a BED time story I get sleepy.

Whenever my best friend visits me for a few weeks, we usually tell each other stories before going to bed. Not fairytale stories we know from books but made up stories with us as main characters. :]
It's fun.
When I'm alone I usually read some chapters from my current book. Most of the time this results in me staying up till 1:00 am. and finishing the whole book :P

I love reading before I sleep! Though not really the typical bed time stories, of course... Usually it is either fanfics or novels. A good way to put yourself to sleep.

Cookie, I do the same thing if I read a book I am reading before bed. "what are you going to do on your three days off Amy?" I'm gonna read the new Harry Potter book till my eyes bleed...then be sad cuz it will be all gone..."what worst is I did, I finished the book over night it was gone with in 24 hours. Thats why I am so surprised I like the bedtime stories. For some reason I can only read a bit.
