Haha, ah, I remember that feeling.
I had the hugest crush on Sesshoumaru-sama for the longest time. Years! He was so handsome and dark, yet he always seemed as though he was doing what he thought was right. I admired that.

My ex was soo jealous of him. Heh ^^;

George from Tamora Peirce's books is sexy to me. Though I never really fell for him- I've always liked his character.

Severus Snape. Mm.
I disliked how the movies had his appearance- as the books specifically said that he was the /youngest/ teacher there.
The actor really didn't look as I had pictured him- but his voice. That voice was /perfect/. So I'm totally cool with the casting choice ^^

And Alucard from Hellsing. Heh. I have a poster of him above my bed ^^;

I'm absolutely in love with Snape. I see that other people are too :3 so I don't feel as weird.
Something about his character just makes me want to hug him. &in my mind/heart, he's still alive.

I always liked Mr. Darcy; that's pretty self-explanatory.

I'm sure there are others. Characters are always my favourite part of books, so I get more attached to them than some people, apparently. So I tend to "fall in love" with characters pretty easily, unless I don't like the book (which happens when I don't like the characters!)...

Harry Potter was my first crush. Not Daniel Radcliff, Harry Potter. I was in fourth grade. There was Will from the His Dark Materials series when I was in sixth grade, too . . . Let's see . . . Um . . . Oh yeah, Michael Moscovitz from The Princess Diaries series.

Dor, and Gray, from Piers Anthony's Xanth series. xD
Po, from Graceling.
Nawat from Trickster's Choice (Haven't read Trickster's Queen yet...).

I could go on for absolute days... xD

I always love a good book. And some chracters are really great to love. Like Tamahome in Fushigi Yugi the manga, and then the books my Richelle Mead. She makes her male characters lovable, I felt bad for Seth and Georgian in her Succubus series.

I have a huge crush on Augusten Burroughs. But the problem is...he made an autobiography. XD It's a real person.
A real GAY person that doesn't like the female gender. (which I am...)
But his writing is so amazing. His ability to compare and contrast completely random subjects and make complete sense. He gives me words for how to view the world. For example; He compared folding chairs to religions. <3
How I love him so...

When I read the Rurouni Kenshin manga, I completely, utterly, and totally fell in love with Kenshin. After I couldn't get the last few books I went through a horrible withdrawal. It was like living with Satan for three weeks. I also had a huge crush on a couple other characters in the manga but my true love was with Kenshin always...This was also when I was very very young, and was my first manga ^_^

JasperVonViktor 03-07-2010 03:56 PM

Leonardo Da Vinci =3
Ezio Auditore de Firenze
Robin Hood
And if Mangas count as books, then there's way too many of them to write here XD Though it will get me quite a few gold :yumeh2:

OMG. I love them too! Except, I like Nicias from Kiesha'ra more than Zane.

More recently though, My beau is Oliver Sharpe, the Marquess of Stoneville. From Sabrinna Jeffries's The Truth about Lord Stoneville.

Yeah Nicias was pretty awesome too. I think I like Zane more because I first read the book Hawksong a few years ago but could never find the sequel (and I thought there was only the one sequel) so I just reread the book a crap load of times lol. Then I was working at the book store a few months ago and I openned up a box and what should I find but ALL THE SEQUELS!! I think I almost screamed XD
I've also read all of her other books (the Den of Shadow's Quartet, Persistence of Memory, and Token of Darkness) and there are some really good male characters in those books but I think Zane is still my fav.

No I haven't. While I have a vivid imagination, I don't really imagine myself as the main character. I look it at more like a story. I have found characters that I find appealing, but not love. I mean I like Gideon's personality and looks from Mélusine by Sarah Monette(If you like fantasy, twins, and homosexuality/yaoi then it's a great book! well overall it's a good book, a bit annoying at times though). Other than that...no. I mean characters aren't real people, and even if they are based on real people it doesn't mean that person is really like that. It could just be what the author thinks that person is.

I fall in love with characters in literature all the time. It's not like OMG I WANT TO MARRY YOU love or anything; it's just that when a character is so well-defined, I find myself legitimately caring about their feelings and fate.

I think one of the most glaring examples is Florence from Bless Me, Ultima. I felt such pity for him, I broke down crying a couple of times. The imagery that Rudolfo Anaya gives to the character is absolutely wonderful. Even though it's been such a long time since I last read the book, I still think of Florence from time to time, and my heart always gets heavy. =/

WELL, the character I fell in love with was from a Manga, to be honest. I have soft spots for men from other books, but Yami no Bakura from YuuGiOu made me fall HARD. The entire series is pretty ridiculous, but just... Bakura is pretty much my nerdly equivalent to Wonder Woman. The nerds have Wonder Woman and I have Bakura. <3

Cora 03-11-2010 07:34 PM

I couldn't help being captivated by Edward of course...but yes

I fell in love with others....
Dor from Xanth
Beast from Rose Daughter
Prince Ossin from Deerskin

Death_to_the_reaper 03-11-2010 08:46 PM

I don't fall in love with them, but it comes pretty close.
I like Rhys from the Two princess of Bamaere(Sp.)
And I haven't read much since I got in college... so I have forgotten...

I used to get crushed on characters ALL THE TIME in novels, but that was back when I was a teenager.

The weirdest crush of all of those was when I got a crush on "Gene" from "A Separate Peace." LOL, I had to read that in school and it wasn't even a romance book and I got a crush on him anyway. XD It's because he felt so real to me and I could sympathize with him so much. I was always the least popular and pretty girl among my friends and the smart one and I could relate to that feeling deep down inside of feeling jealous of them and almost wishing them harm and then feeling like crap because how could someone ever think that about their friend? He was just so real to me. A real person with real faults and I really liked him.

This guy I went to school with at the time did his report on the book in front of the class and said how he was a lot like Gene and I instantly got a crush on him. XD Isn't that silly? But it happened and I couldn't help it.

Anyway, other than that and in more recent years . . . . . .

I have a crush on Derek, kind of, from The Darkest Powers Trilogy. XD He's all pimply and ugly looking in a lot of ways according to the author and he's quite a bit standoffish, but at the same time, I can't stop thinking of him as a big cuddly bear. >_< LOL.

And I also did get a crush on Edward Cullen. How can you not? He's the perfect man or so I've heard. So unrealistic compared to real men because he's beyond what any of them can live up to? If there was a woman who looked that hot in a book and acted that perfect, I'm sure guys would have a crush on her as well. Doesn't mean I expect my boyfriend to live up to that standard, but it does mean I got a crush on him.

Patch from Hush, hush sounds like he'd be awesome to have a one night stand with. XD But not the type of guy I'd normally want a relationship with.

And that's it for now, I guess. I'll post more in the this thread if I get more crushes.

CaptainCrossbones 04-02-2010 03:05 AM

Right now I am totally in love with Asher from the Anita Blake series

supermango 04-10-2010 12:34 AM
