Oliver Wood from the Harry Potter series. And this was before he was played by the yummy Scotsman, Sean Biggerstaff. *still can't help giggling at his name*

I loved Oliver because he was a fanatic, completely obsessed with his true love: Quidditch. I have an obsessive personality and I'll completely get into something. I'll have to know everything about it, own everything I can on it, draw it, write about it, even RP it. So I thought Oliver's manic love for his sport was just too endearing. XD (Tell Harry to get the snitch or die trying. Priceless.)

Then he just got even more enticing when Sean played him and I was like "WOAH! He's gorgeous!" I was so sad when they didn't put Oliver in the third movie because that was supposed to be his BIG WIN. ;_; I was heartbroken there was no Oliver crying for joy over winning the cup in his final year at Hogwarts.

So Oliver's been the big one, but I've also got soft spots for Terence Higgs and Marcus Flint thanks to a bunch of naughty RPers who like their naughty Slytherins. :3

Am I like totally missing something having not read this Twilight series? I mean considering ya'll are madly in love with the characters. Don't get me wrong I adore a brooding vampire as much as the next chicky.

Nocere 01-20-2009 03:06 AM

I fell in love with Morpheus aka Dream from The Sandman Comics. Actually, the appearance of Dream in The Books of Magic is what got me interested in comics in the first place.

It'll seem a bit creepy, but I also loved Sirius Black in the Harry Potter series. I cried when I read the fifth book. I was so angry at J.K. Rowling for that.

ShadowFlamedWolf 01-20-2009 03:34 AM

oh my god where do i start,

Supreme Commander Gavrila 01-20-2009 07:21 PM

Pierre Gringoire from the Hunchback of Notre Dame.
He's just so damn adorable! >__<
He can't shut up when he should,
and everything that can ever go wrong, goes wrong for him.

@Shmougie:
I had the same feelings for Holden from the Catcher in the Rye!
It's such an intimate thing, watching someone go slowly insane, isn't it?

Nenerheste 01-28-2009 01:20 PM

After a thoughtful half hour I have compiled a short list of who I can think of right now

Anime: (I know they aren't books but let it be let it be)
Fakir from Princess TuTu - is it possible not to love him
Kiba from Naruto - he had a cute puppy
Nakatsu from Hana Kimi - there's nothing cuter than a guy questioning his sexual orientation

Books
Simon from Lord Of The Flies - Hate the book but can't help but love Simon wish he wasn't 12 and dead
Howl from Howl's moving Castle - I have to agree with Iltu
Murtagh from Eragon - an interesting character
Will from His Dark Materials - i don't know why but i do
Artimus Fowl from I bet you can't guess - super rich evil genius who follows fairies what's not to love
Mr. Clent from Fly by night - don't know much about him yet but like Mosca i'm taken by his use of words
Cayay the immortal Prince from the Tide lord series - Oh how I wish I was Akady
and what young girl didn't love Leif from Deltora Quest.

I have never read Twilight so I don't share your passion for 'Edward'

Country_Bella_Rose 01-30-2009 05:39 PM

I have fallen in love with at least one character from every book I have ever read. Now, that would be way to long of a list to write out. I am not however in love with Edward Cullen, Emmet Hale, Jasper Cullen, Jacob Black, or any of the other Twilight men. :) Yes, they are cool, and yes someone like Edward would be fantastic, HOWEVER, Rob Pattinson totally ruined him for me.

Junizul 01-30-2009 05:57 PM

Illidan! from the war of the ancients series, and all those warcraft games. haha.

icekat311 01-30-2009 06:07 PM

Hah! And I thought I was the only one in love with that Mouse.
I have to admit that I had a soft spot for Gonff too.

I think the first one was Schmendrik from The Last Unicorn - an Idiot savant of a wizard.
Then came the Redwall infatuations - Martin, Gonff and any of the Skippers.
Numair Salmalin and George the King of Thieves from The Song of the Lioness and Immortals series by Tamora Pierce
AH! I could go on forever.
Gilgamesh Wolfenbach from the Girl Genius graphic novels.
Howl and Artemis Fowl for certain.
Pippin from Lord of the Rings (yes I'm a pervvy hobbit fancier) and Glorfindel as (not all elves are poncy).
and I think right now I'm madly in love with Benedick from Much Ado About Nothing.
Hopeless aren't I?

Turtle Pirate 02-01-2009 12:41 AM

Hahaha I always have a soft spot for certain characters in the books I've read.
Recently Im reading a book called Enchanting its a historical romance novel and I love the char Raven Seabern he's the perfect gentlemen and he's Scottish and the plight he has to win over his love because she has major trust issues.
But I do love Edward and just about all the chars in Twilight they're personalities are all fun.
Especially Alice =P

Zolar 02-15-2009 12:08 AM

Edward Cullen o 3o <3
(Haven't we all??)
There was another one that I can't remember though. D:
The book was about a girl, and a guy that was a ghost.
I can't remember the name of the guy but yeah him too.
I usually end up liking the charactars that die too. ;__;

Remaro 02-15-2009 09:21 PM

I have to say amazingly there's little characters from other author books I've fallen in love with. I do say though, I fell for
Jasper from Twilight (Don't bother asking XD)
Dustfinger from Inkheart (I find him so funny XD his personality is great.)
Momiji, Shigure and Haru all from Fruits Basket (Momiji's so cute!)
Sasuke, Gaara, Kakashi from Naruto (What can I say? I love the angst)
L from Death Note
Akkarin from the Black Magician trilogy

More often then not though I fall in love with characters I or my friend have made. I've cried countless times when we've had to kill a character off, even if they've only been appearing for less then a chapter I've fallen for them so badly XD

Pandy 02-16-2009 01:59 AM

Cameron Quick in Sweethearts
Jason in Story of a Girl
Both books were written by Sara Zarr.

-sigh- Alright... Jacob Black, too.

Lost_Ninja9213 02-16-2009 03:26 AM

ahhh, I never did.....I like real people better than made up characters

woopdidoodoo 02-16-2009 11:58 AM

I haven't fallen in love as such
but more like crushes or
dreamed about them

22Tsuji22 02-17-2009 08:38 PM

I see tons of Edward fans xxD Lol I personally prefer Jacob in the series. Hmm I actually can't think of any xD I know there are characters that I go -sigh- I wish guys like him existed. I just cannot for the life of me think who they are.

Keaira 02-17-2009 08:40 PM

Edward is... for lack of a better description (and because it is just SO TRUE)... HOTT. [sweatdrop] And I didn't really see the whole attractiveness in him as Robert Pattinson until I actually saw the movie. I had read all the books before the movie came out, so I knew what was going to happen, but actually seeing a character such as that fleshed out... man.

Anyway, on another note, I am personally in love with Draco Malfoy. :D

22Tsuji22 02-17-2009 08:45 PM

Oh wow seeing all these Draco fans makes me happy >< Although I think the love for him is a huge help from the smexy Tom Felton. But also everyone's love for bad guys. I love the twins from Harry Potter, they are tooo funny xxD. Also from Hana Yori Dango, Tsukasa and Akira(playboy tea guy). Buncha manga guys. Mangaka know how to make the guys irresistible xD it's their versions of prince charming.

Mint Car 02-17-2009 09:45 PM

This happens to me quite often. The first two are Austen men. The great Mr Darcy who is loved by most and then there is Mr. Knightley who is a little less well thought of.
After those two I have a thing for Remus Lupin from the Harry Potter series. I cannot help it or explain it but suffice it to say the most of my friends have given up and just let me be.
I have a slight obsession with a character from the Dragonlance series as well. It is Dalamar who is this random side character for most of the books but I seriously search out any and all books in that series that even mention him.
Howl from the Howl's Moving Castle series. I like him in the movie too but he is even more dramatic in the book and it makes me laugh.
Lastly since I truely believe that it is almost impossible to come away from the book without at least a little crush because of the way it is written, Edward Cullen.

`Kitami 02-18-2009 05:45 AM

Mr. Darcy.

Lestat de Lioncourt, from The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice.

Nathaniel and Asher from the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton. (I have a crush on Jean-Claude as well, but he's not on the same level as Nathaniel and Asher. >_>; )

Frost from the Merry Gentry series by Laurell K. Hamilton.

I'm also pretty infatuated with Ron from Harry Potter. The twins as well. >_>;

L from Death Note is just yummy. But I don't know if manga should count as a book, exactly...

....Maybe I read too much.

She wrote her husband Abelard a bunch of letters that were so loving and beautiful, I not only want to be loved like that, I also want to have her love me like that.

She is really an amazing woman, and her life was something that is so...gosh you know, just read the letters of Heloise and Abelard.

(And no I am not a fan of his. I can understand his distance from her, but still, he treated her in a rather poor way.)

I have a female character that I'm really fond of, her name is Violet Beauregarde. She's from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and I named my avatar after her. I positively hated how she was portrayed in the 2005 movie! Yes, I am 100% straight. Don't laugh at me, :/! *walks out*

Lexxistar 02-18-2009 07:59 PM

Yes I have fallen in love with a charecter from a book. two of them to be precise. The first is from Janet Evanovich's books his name is Carlos Ricardo Manosa aka Ranger. The second would be Wrath from J R Wards books about the blackdagger brotherhood. Both fairly dangerous men, but who care very deeply for the women in their lives.

cuddlyemokitten 02-21-2009 09:52 AM

Gawd yes!

Edward Cullen and Jasper Hale - Twilight
Hunter - Sweep
Howl - Howl's Moving Castle
...I'm not even going to name the ones in the manga I have I have
Way too many...
