I remember loving Clifford and the Berenstain Bears XD I'm totally reading them to my kids when I have them.

My favorite "childhood" stories were always the Grimm Brother's Fairytales. My favorite of those has always been the Frog Prince. I can't explain why, but it's always given me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

I love books when I am little....and I don't know why. I love Alice in the Wonderland and the Little mermaid, and fairy tales. I love them and sometimes I thought they are real..(I was very little back then) I still love them even though I am too old for them.

I really loved Dr. Seuss, my mom would always read the books to me, but my dad didn't like the books that much, I remember when I used to call him the grinch. XD I think my favorite was The Lorax, since I could really relate to loving the forest, I lived in one and still do. XD

I really liked this one book series about a cat, Ally Cat, since it was spelled the same as mine. That was back when I first learned to read. In first grade, I remember that my favorite book was Sarah, Plain and Tall. All through elementary school, though, I was all about the Babaysitter's Club and Nancy Drew, though. I remember reading a whole BSC book in a day (100 pages is a lot for a 9 year old). All my friends were so jealous.

When I was in elementary, I loved "Witch Week" and "Charmed Life" by Diane Wynne Jones and "Moon Child" whose author's name I have forgotten. Jones' books were imaginative and wonderful while the ending of "Moon Child" made me cry every time I read the book.

Lol probably my favorite books to read a a kid were the goosebumps series, and then probably the Talisman by Stephen King and peter Straub...yeah..I read it in the 3rd grade lol

I used to read books all the time when i was little. My mom said i used to sit with her and read until my dad come home. I think my foavorite books were the Juny B Jones books. They were so cute! and pretty funny too!

The very hungry caterpillar I use to brow that book. form my elementary school so much the one other I use to like as mom said it was called the pickle book. I have not read that book in years I wonder if it is still around?

But I know I loved a story called Golden Hairs and Golden Stars... which was weird but cool to little kiddy me. Red Riding Hood was my favourite fairytale. I always felt sorry for the wolf =3 |
Lewis Carroll's writings are my absolute favourite children's books, and overall, for that matter. :) My dad used to recite part of the Lobster Quadrille to help me tackle stairs.
When I was young I also really enjoyed A.A. Milne, not so much Winnie the Pooh, but my sister and I had 'When We Were Very Young' and 'Now We are Six' respectively. |
ZOMG...so much childhood to put down...let's see...I would have to say anything by Dr. Suess (that man was perfect with his stories) and one of my all time favorites as a child was Are You My Mother?

Alan and Naomi
I can't remember the author, but I found the book Alan and Naomi by Myron Levoy. I was searching google or something a few years ago, and ordered it. I read it over and over when I was about 7 years old. It's about a post-holocaust New York resident who had fled from Germany (a young girl about 12) and her neighbor - a native boy about the same age. The girl was very mysterious, never spoke, and constantly ripped up maps. She was shy and ran away from everyone. The boy tried to make her friendship, he had to try very hard. They eventually do become friends, they become very close friends. But all in a second, something happens and it is all unravelled. Then there is an effort to rebuild everything. The moments of happiness described in the book brought tears to my eyes. The ending was so beautiful and sad and heart-rending ... it was a truly satisfying book. It impressed me greatly and made me feel some sort of longing and inspiration that I couldn't describe. it awakened and set the scene for my artistic personality for the rest of my life.
If you can ever get your hands on it, read it. I can't even type about it without crying. |
I like Dr. Suess' Green Eggs and Ham.... Sam I am, I will not in a boat, not with a goat, I do not like green eggs and ham Sam I am... LOL!! I thought that was the funniest part.

My absolute favorite childhood book was The Velveteen Rabbit. I was given a copy by my grandparents when I was 5. I still have that very same copy and I read it to my children now.

Well does being a ten year old count as a child? I would consider it a child. My favorite book was Howl's Moving Castle, but I still do read it every now and then. My father used to read it to me on stormy nights, and whenever the lightning would strike, I would pretend that Howl and Sophie were protecting me. (I had a wild imagination)
And when I was 11 I also really enjoyed Nancy Drew. It's funny to think that I would still read some of these books after all these years, but hey, who doesnt? |
When I little I always read The Hungry Hungry Caterpillar and all the Dr. Seuss books. As well as any horse book I could get into.

Watership Down, hands down. ^^ I was maybe... 9 when i read it? Borrowed it from the library and then bought my own copy. It's so cute! I can still read it now, and that's what makes it amazing.
Like, from a really young age though, I'd have to say The Rainbow Fish. It's the only one that ever really stuck with me. [: |
My favorite childhood book... (If i can remember that far xD unfortunately i can't remember much of my childhood nor much of anything ;o) but i believe it is or i should say was the three little pigs ^^
