I picked up this series a few weeks ago, and I've already read through all three books that are currently out, and I really have to say I'm enjoying them. They're a great urban-fantasy read, and the main heroine kicks butt, but without the apocalyptic levels of powers you see in a lot of female lead characters at the moment. She's still vulnerable, she can still be hurt, she doesn't 'carry lycanthropy and vampirism without suffering from it', or some other such, frankly, Mary-sue like trait. She's not sleeping with a dozen men...etcetera.
Ive been enjoying reading about her learning about her powers and trying to understand them, and struggling with a world of people that mostly doesn't accept, or understand, anything supernatural. It's been a real breath of fresh air for me, as far as fantasy.
