This man is tied with Garth Nix for my "best author evar" award. He's my idol, having mastered 3rd person and 1st person, and even having tackled and pwned the nearly impossible present tense. Safe to say, I envy him.

Why I think he's so great is that he really does make the extraordinary seem almost mundane. He doesn't put you in some fantastic place that seems impossible. He puts you in a place that should seem impossible, but somehow he makes seem normal. Wooding makes me feel comfortable in the most outrageous of places, be they a swamp full of imaginary creatures, an island-based post apocalyptic type world or an underground civilization with bioluminescent lakes. He just makes them seem less magical and more real, which puts me more into his stories than really anything else.

That and I adore his characters. They're always so fantastic.

Thoughts? :3 I want to see if anybody else loves the man like I do, or if I'm just a geeky fanboy. (Or both. xD )
