I think this book may be my very favorite.
It was just such a moving story.

I picked that book to read in english and just loved it.
Has anyone else read this?

I read the first half and didn't find it interesting enough to carry on.
I may attempt to read it again, but I think it would just go the same way.

It gets quite sad in the second part to be honest.

In eighth grade, we had to read it and perform it for English (I think it was).

Unfortunately [/sarcasm], the teacher wasn't satisfied with "rehearsals" and it ended up falling through.

I wanted to be the mother, but I ended up being "cast" as Laura. And the teacher actually wanted a real kiss scene in there. I was like, "NO. I am in eighth grade, woman. I am thirteen years old and do not want my first kiss to be acted."

Not in those exact words, but yeah. XD

I think I would have liked the story better if it weren't for that experience. =P

Read it some years back and loved it. Felt bad for everyone in the play, though.

It was part of my required reading for my English B 30 class last semester... It was an amazing story. I always felt a connection with Laura. Also a few years back, for my drama class me and another girl did the scene where Amanda finds out that Laura hadn't been going to her class. It was the best scene of the entire class.

I read it for my school. It honestly wasn't that much of a catching story for me. I have read so many stories I've gotten very picky with them.
One of my moms friends said Laura reminded them of me. Just because of her glass figurines.
