[Attention: This is not a discussion thread. Purely a few questions]

Okay, I've been wanting to read The Princess Bride really badly. My main problem is, I don't know much about the book itself so I have a few questions.
[My Background Info: Middle Schooler, Mature, 10th/11th grade reading level]

Questions:
Is the book:
Innapropriate?
Boring?
Well Written?
Mature?
Hard to read at my age?
[EXPLAIN, please.]
Also, can someone please briefly explain the plot to me? Whenever I read about it online, it's either really wikipedia-ish [Drags on and on] or just plain confusing.

I agree. You're the best judge of your own opinion. ^__^ Take the plunge! But no, there's nothing inappropriate\mature in it.

The plot is the same as the movie(If you've seen it).
If it's worth anything, read the abridged version (probably the easiest to find).
I have the abridged version, it has notes about the skipped chapters and such. Apparently the original was drawn out in many points.
It's not inappropriate and shouldn't be hard to read at your age.
I have met people who either like or dislike this book. So the only way to know if you really enjoy this book is to read it yourself.

I would like to point out that there is no such thing as a version that isn't abridged. That is that only version. Its a comedy, and written in a witty and original way. I enjoyed it very much, just my brand of humor.

It's a great book!!!!! I just read it, and it is amazing!!!! I am 13, too, and it is not inappropriate at all. Just make sure you get the abridged William Goldman version, which is most common. You'll see why when you read it!!!! Trust me, if you like the movie, you will like the book. It is different, but you learn more about the characters, and about the point behind S. Morgenstern's edition (the original). Go for it!!!!

To tell you, the book is quite lulzy, and there is no such thing as too inappropriate, its just your mind set and how you think of things.
There is, however, being too young to understand something o____o
Which is why you should NEVER EVER try to explain politics to toddlers. :3

It is a reeeeally good book, but I think you should read it and judge for yourself, there are differences between the book and the movie and that's what kept me reading.
As far as how you find it, I just went into the bookstore and it was there. I know that's not very helpful, if at all, but that's what I did. lol
I've read the book four times and I keep re reading it. I just love it. Now when I watch the movie I tell my friends the differences so they will go read it too. lol
Seriously, I think ti's worth reading but your call.

No it is not innapropriate.

I did not find it boring at all, but that is my opinion. In fact I found it funny and fun. It's one of my favorite books. I love the story and the characters.

I found it well written.

Mature? Hmm, that's hard to answer. What do you find immature?

I think you would do fine reading it with the reading level you say you.

My explaination might be brief but it's the best I got.
It's a fun story of a group of characters trying to save the princess. Oh and don't forget true love. :P

Like stated by others- Read it and find out!!! :D

I think I'm in the minority here, I didn't like the book. I read it quite a long time ago and found it to be ultimately forgettable. People run around quoting the movie and I only have the vaguest of notions of what they're talking about because it really wasn't all that memorable. The ending stuck with me, but only because of a certain twist that the author added at the end.

Still, it's one of those things that you have to decide for yourself when you read it. If you want to read it, read it. That's the only way you can know if you'll like it or not.
