Eragon all the way they cut out the growth of saphira entirely and basically butchered almost all the details of the book

Blood and Chocolate, A thousand times over.
Take all the characters, kill a few that never die, switch some of their relitionships with eachother. Change the storyline, all of the major events, the location, and even the way in which they change. The only thing that is the same is some of the character names.

I completely agree. My dad and I went out to go see it, since we both loved the book, and we were let down so hard.

I have to say Eragon. The film is the reason I don't like the books any more. I was an idiot and went to see the film and I hated it.
Although Percy Jackson was pretty bad as well

Percy Jackson wasn't that bad.
They changed some stuff around from the other books but it was alright.
The worst movie to book conversion was probably The Twilight Saga.

In my opinion they completely ruined it. I could go into a huge list about exactly what they did wrong... I'll jsut say that they wrecked my favourite character, Annabeth. All she did in the film was fight, Percy made all the plans! When she first appeared in the film I thought she was Clarisse.

ARG! The Percy Jackson movie made me want to STAB something! I'd read the entire series and when I watched the movie I spent around 80% of it pointing out differences to the book :gonk:
Also, Percy was supposed to be 12 in the first movie, not 15/16 :stare: In Itself, a good movie but after reading the book... It wasn't enjoyable for me.

I think the Percy Jackson film ruined the book, mostly because they could just drive everywhere in the film, being around 17. In the book they had to use public transport and ended up stranded several times with no money. In the film all they had to do was find a car and they can drive. Really annoying >_<

Now that you mention it, this is also true... And since Percy is already 16/17 already, how are they going to do the prophecy? :x

I'm not sure they're going to make a sequel. It would be very difficult, seeing as how they've completely mucked up the first film. They also didn't mention Kronos/Cronos at all except at the very start at the museum. After all, in the film it was just Luke acting on his own trying to start a war.

The Twilight series.
The cast is ok. The first movie was absolutely appalling, I know that movies can’t been 10 hours long or whatever. But I felt like they skipped everything I thought was semi-important.
The Second movie was so much better that the first, I really like the new director. I find myself dreading the forth movie…The book was horrible and I’m pretty sure the movie will be too.

[Roze] Exactly! They've stuffed up the storyline so bad D;
It makes me wonder, are they even going to make movies of the rest of the series?

I would easily say Blood and Chocolate. At first, I saw the movie because I had an obsession going on with Werewolves, but then I watched it, fell completely in love with it. And then I found out it came from a book and so I got all excited and read the book.....
I was so flipping mad at the book. It had a complete different ending and too many different things were changed in the movie. I was so mad...but I can't deny that I still love the movie. But still ticked off at the director. -glares at that one movie on her shelf-

My Sister's Keeper and the Twilight Saga.
My Sister's Keeper is an amazing book [definitely #1 on my must-read list] and has an extremely sad twist ending. In the movie, they don't include the twist ending and instead go with the predictable ending. DX
The Twilight Saga... gah. Where do I start?
In the books, Bella actually has depth, she actually has a personality, she actually has character. In the movies, she's lifeless. Everything she says sounds the same. Her facial expression is always the same.
Edward was a bit humorous at times in the books, in the movies - always sounds depressed, always looks depressed. Like, I know his character isn't human, but really now?
Taylor Lautner, in my opinion, does a good job as Jacob though. :3

I don't think so. I mean, they would only do that if they made a fortune out of the first one, which I don't think they did (but I could be wrong). I really hate it when people ruin my favourite books when they turn them into films >_<

Where do I begin? Some individuals already mentioned Eragon and Narnia (i couldn't even finish watching Prince Caspian because I just got bored). I definitely agree. I would also add Angels and Demons and The Davinci code by Dan Brown. I LOVE Dan Brown's books, but the movies just stir up unnecessary media controversy (which mind you, not much controversy came up when the books came out because I guess nobody in the media world reads or anything), the acting is terrible, and the plot line/suspense is just all wrong. /endrant. : P

I didn't think Narnia was too bad. It wasn't exactly loyal to the books, but they didn't change it too much. Well, with Prince Caspian they changed it quite a bit, but there are far worse conversions in my opinion.

Hm.. I'd probably have to say My Sisters Keeper. The book was alright, but the movie wasn't. I laughed in the movie instead of crying haha.
Also, this one called Stardust. Really good book, I loved it. But the movie? Totally had me confused. I almost shut it off 'cause I was to confused. I kept saying "who's that? That's not supposed to happen yet.. No.. Wait.. No that's later.. that never happened!" I got so confused in it 'cause the book was different haha.

Jurassic Park. Lol. I read the book in my Honors American Lit. class and I thought,"Wow! This book is really good! I think I'll watch the movie!" WRONG. It was completely and totally different. :/ They even changed the roles of the two kids. Whaaaat?

hahaha aww Jurassic Park was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I love that cute little poison spitting dinosaur sooo much! <3
I'd definitely have to say Eragon...I saw the movie first and was like, "that wasn't too bad...not a masterpiece, but it was alright." Then I read the book and was like "WTF IS WRONG WITH THE MOVIE!? D<"
I'm confused about what they're gonna do with the Harry Potter series to make up for all of the important plot elements that they've skipped over...
And I REALLY hated the Twilight movie. I didn't like the cast choice to begin with, and then they put on a horrible show and publicly stated that they didn't care. I was pretty into the books after my sister made me read them, but due to the sudden uprising of wannabe glitter vamps and the really bad movie..I'm kinda meh. Didn't bother to see the second one. XD

The second one is actually drastically better than the first. Of course, I totally agree with the massive amounts of vampire wannabe fan girls now. I'm embarrassed to say I actually like twilight for that reason alone. :[

I haven't actually read the book myself but a friend of mine has and she said that the film was actually better. I suppose it comes down to opinion, though

Twilight.
I'm not a Twilight Fan, but I used to be..
When the first movie came out, I was just dying down.
I hate most of the cast.
The first movie was appalling. They changed soooooo much.
The new director took made the second movie a lot closer to the book.
I don't like talking about Twilight, but still, it's a horrible conversion.
