I bought Vampire Academy about a year ago and read the first few pages and didn't really feel it.
So I put it in my bookcase and let it sit there for quite a while, until I needed a little "escape" and picked it up.
Turns out, I really, really like it.
Rose, the main character, isn't like all the other girls in other vampire series books, especially like Zoey from the House of Night series who's totally full of herself.
Rose is totally spunky and reminds me a lot of myself because I'm so protective of my friends.
I always find myself comparing the people I know and myself to characters in books.
What book character [in any book] would you say is most like you? And why?
Number one for me would be Bella from Twilight and I know how stupid that sounds!
But it's true. I was a freshman when I started reading the books and two days after I got it for my birthday, was the first day of my new school.
So I felt like Bella and I were going through a little bit of the same things, even though I didn't really suspect anyone was a vampire, lol.
But being the new kid, and we had a lot in common and our parents are practically the same. My dad being so quiet and my mom being kind of... eccentric. Lol.
Well, I just like books.
Vampire books especially, I've been reading them since middle school. I'd also like to be a writer someday, specifically on vampire books or other topics that I find interesting.
Okay, so answer these questions:
Have you read Vampire Academy? If so, what did you think of it?
Do you ever find yourself comparing characters in books to people you know or even yourself?
What character do you think you are most like? And why?
If you were a writer, what would be your main topic to write about?
