That book slightly confuses me.
It's very interesting though ><;;
I really have no point to this forum, just posted out of slight thought due to the fact that I'm reading it right now.
Anyone else read it? : O

I've read the beginning and ending when in school then watched the movie to fill in what I didn't read. It was kind of chilling the kind of society that formed over time with the children.

I never had to read it for school, instead we read "A Brave New World". But I did hear about LotF and how demented it was.

Lord of the flies is a very good book
and if I'm not mistaken it's about the inate evil in human beings.
The loss of innocence, Each person has a role to play in the society, and main character also represents something
I like it
it was pretty good, and I also like The Great Gatsby
and The Catcher in the Rye.

I read some of it and watched some of the movie. I had to do so for school. It is pretty messed up. I should probably read the whole book sometime. I'll understand it better if I did.

I had to read that last year.. It would have been a good book to read, just for the sake of reading it, but being forced to, and having to have at least 1 annotation for each page was horrible.. and they had to have deeper level thinking in the annotations.. gaaah..
But beyond that, it was actually quite interesting.. a great book to depict the animalistic instincts, the darkness within mankind, and the loss of innocence..

I'm forced to read it for my honors english class, at first I didn't like it, but I'm on chapter seven now, and so far Simon is my favorite since he seems to be the only truly sane one left

I read it the book a while back, and personally, I detested it. Out of all of the English and Honors English classes I have taken, Lord of the Flies is by far my least favorite book. It was interesting all right, but not in a good way for me.

I read it last year for English class, and wrote about 5 essays on it. :(
It was a good read though, I cried in some parts.

Jeez.
That book was terrible.
Not because it was boring to read but because of just how horrible it all plays out.
Poor everyone ]:
Good book. I only remember the big things that happened.
But I don't regret reading it.
If you're confused, believe me... what every happens in the next chapter will make you forget your confusion o.o
And just stare in disbelief.

I read that last year, actaully.
A very mind-screwy book, but I like it. Very sad, though.

Wow, this book brings back memories from high school.
When I first began to read this book I HATED it, back while I was still sitting at my desk throwing spitballs at the guy in front of me. As I kept reading it though I found a new love for the book, and I ended up adoring it. I love the symbolism of the "Lord of the Flies", the essense of the creature Beelzebub that was placed within. I also find the human mind fascinating, so being able to watch a group of civilized people go mad due to a situation they had no control in is rather amazing.
It's been quite a while. Wow. xD

I think I remember reading that book when I was a freshman. All I remember is that my favorite character died though. But, I remember I enjoyed it as well. :)

That was the only book I had to read in school that I really liked. I hated Crime and Punishment (it was a crime that book was ever published and it is a punishment to read it.) The Lord of the Flies was good, but not my favorite. It's missing something, but I can't remember what it was missing. oh well....

We were supposed to read it in 10th grade, but my teacher hated the book so she tossed it over her shoulder and said, "We'll read this instead!" (it was of Mice and Men I believe). Anyways, I ended up reading it by myself a year later thanks to another English class assignment. It was a bit confusing at first, but once you know the general idea of what's going on, it's not that bad anymore. And while all my friends said how horrible the book was, I actually rather enjoyed it. I keep meaning to read it again, but I always get distracted by other things.

Yeah, I read it in 10th grade as well and it was good... Very depressing though and I hated Jack. My teacher was really into the symbolism-but that aspect of the book was cool too.

I had to read lord of the flies for a home school book group thing I did last year and I HATED it. So weird and creepy and not interesting. I had to listen to the last half as book on tape to finish it in time. I cannot understand how anyone would like it but I'm going to stay open-minded. Explain to me why someone would like such a book?
