Have you read both?
If not, which one?
Opinions?
Questions?

I read where the Red Ferns grow before. The book is good. But it's sad how the dogs died in the end.

Where the red fern grows is such a sad book. I stole it from my 6th grade teacher because I loved it so.

I read Where the Red Ferns grow in 4th grade and it had me sobbing eyefuls of tears.
I haven't read it since I think, I know I loved it back then, I think I might try to pick it up again and read it. :3

I don't know what you are talking about. But if you elaborate on this a little bit more then I could help you. But if I haven't heard about it then I guess I am not use to this thread. o.o

I haven't read Freak The Mighty; but I have read Where The Red Fern Grows. I personally found the book boring and hard to get through, but the last part I feel is when it starts to get interesting. (Saddly, it is when the dogs die.) Otherwise, I've never picked up the book a second time. D:

I remember reading Where the Red Fern Grows when I was a lot younger... I remember crying at the end. ^^; I was only 7 or 8, I think.

Freak The Mighty is so sad! I think I might have read Where the Red Fern Grows when I was younger, but I don't remember what it was about or anything.

I read where the red fern grows as a child, everyone in my class enjoyed it but I found it a tad boring. Though I did admittedly cry at the end.

I read Where the Red Fern Grows in fifth grade then again in seventh. It was good, but a little boring too. It made me tear up when the dogs died, I didn't want to cry in front of the whole class.

I watched the movie, Mighty. I think I'm going to read the book too if I ever find it in my towns library. As for the Red Fern...I never went past the first chapter.

I read Where the Red Fern Grows in 5th grade, and I remember getting to interested in it, I took it home, read ahead of the class, and luckily cried at the ending at home instead of with the classroom haha. Never read Freak.

I read Where the Red Fern Grows, I loved it as a child and loved it as a teen. I watched the movies too. Yes I cried every time.

I was forced to read Where the Red Fern Grows when I was a kid, and I remember it making me horribly depressed. I haven't looked at it since, but I probably should now that my putting-stuff-into-perspective skills are a bit better.

But, we read Freak the Mighty at my work recently (I work with troubled teens) and the whole group really enjoyed it. It has a lot of stuff that kids from less than perfect backgrounds can relate to. I could see how it would also depress a person too, though. =)

I read both of those books back in elementary school. I loved them, and would love to get my hands on them to read again.

I think that I liked Where The Red Fern Grows better, even though the end never fails to make me cry.
