i had to read the chrysalids in high school and i really liked it but everyone else complained about the story line and the strange characters. i just wanted to know if anyone else has read it and what they thought about it. it was a few years ago that i read it but it still bugs me lol

yeah, i read it in grade 9 and felt the same way, it was a really interesting book. But most everyone in class said it was boring and they didn't like it. I think it has to do with the fact the they were forced to read it and not about the book itself. In seventh grade my class had to read the outsiders which i also though was a really good book but most still did not like it. :(
