So all you girls that grew up in the 1980s and 1990s have to be familiar with the Babysitter's Club series by Ann M. Martin. Well, I read online a few days ago that they're re-releasing the books! I'm so excited! Not that I'll ever go out and buy each one all over again (and my mom gave away all my old ones, poo) but seriously, I know they totally got me into babysitting when I was nearing my teenage years. Did anyone else learn some good babysitting tips by reading them? from the interview I read with Ann M. Martin, she's written a book about the summer before when all the girls were about to be in 7th grade. I'll probably buy that just for the sake of reading it. My favorite baby sitter was probably Maryanne because she had an overbearing father, and she was quiet and shy, but I also liked the books centered around Stacy because she was a diabetic and usually she had some sort of trouble with her health in the books and I've always been interested in the medical field.

Did anyone read any of the Babysitter's Club spawned series? I used to enjoy the Little Sister books for the simple fact that Karen was a whiny brat and I thought I was so smart because I could read one of the whole books in a sitting. There were the California Diaries books too about Dawn and her friends out in CA, but I don't think those took off as well as the others.

I know there are other people out there who read the Babysitter's Club books. There's gotta be some reason they're coming out again. I was obsessed. I had the dolls, board game and took a Red Cross babysitting class as soon as I turned 13. Ohh the memories.

I read a couple of them when I was in elementary. They were the only decent novels in my school's poor, poor library (my school must've been on welfare or something, because it was pathetic there.). I don't think I enjoyed them nearly as much as you did though. ^^'

uhg, I hated this series. It was a pathetic strerotype of the typical pre-teen to teenage girl. *shudder*

I was never into anything like that. During the time when girls were reading BSC, I was reading Edger Allen Poe, and Anne Rice.

I read them!!! But not until the 2000's lol. They didn't influence me much, but they were a good way of switching my brain off.
