Ooopsie, I've misread. XD Sorry. Yeah, I haven't seen the unillustrated version, either.

Discworld is alright but I have to say that it is an aquired taste. I only read the Hog father. Its a pretty good book

It's definitely an acquired taste I think... the way the characters sit with each other carries over, book to book.

I don't really think it's acquired (acquired implies you have to really try to like it before you do, or at least get used to it first). I was hooked the first book I read of it.

And yeah, Katurine - the illustrated version is the only one available, it seems. I don't like illustrated books, unless it's a graphic novel, but I don't read those as much as I read actual novels.

I guess it depends on who you are.... What do you guys think of "cut me own throat" dibbler?

World's best marketer. Really, the fact that he sells some of the stuff he does is just amazing. 'Sausages! Sausages! Inna bun! So fresh the pig hasn't noticed they're gone!'

I also love how there's an equivalent of CMOT Dibbler on every continent.

Yes, of course. It's cheaper than buying the food and stick separately, and less work than buying the food and finding a stick! :D

I see!

The wee free men scare me a little to be honest... especially now they have a lawyer

Uh oh :P

Bel Shamaroth scares me a little. I'm not afraid of the Wee Free Men - the house has enough alcohol to satisfy them in it :P

He came up in The Light Fantastic, and possibly in The Colour of Magic. He's an ancient and rather scary god.

Ah... I haven't read those two I don't think.
So far one of my favourites would have to be Moving Pictures though, which also has aincient and rather scary beings residing in it's pages. My boyfriend has just started Jingo... He's loving it, but he doesn't understand the writing style, I don't even notice it anymore.. but I guess to someone who's new to it, it's a bit confusing.

I didn't really find it confusing. I understood very quickly (actually at around the first paragraph) that this was someone who enjoyed humour and making people laugh while still crediting them with intelligence. I rather like that.

I like all the books in the series. Some are funnier, though.

Sorry.. I meant writing style, not the content. But yes. Some are way funnier. Carpe Jugulum was funny. I liked his take on vampires

Yeah, some authors don't write very well at all. And yes; I especially like the black ribboners :)
