Has anyone checked out any online material from places like Fictionpress.com, Fanfiction.net, LiveJournal.com etc.
There are some really good stories up there. ANd of course there are some that just have you thinking, yucky.
Have you read any online stories, if so what the title, what site did you see it on, and give a description on what it is about as well as a rating for it.

I love Fictionpress there are some amazingly talented people who write on there. It's amazing how creativity can flow. I usually go on there and check out the romances, some of my favorites being the more unique and just mind grabbing ones, such as We've Got A Big Mess On Our Hands by Pixiepoptartz, She Had Somewhere To Go by S.L. Gunn, Cut The Curtains by Destination and lastely (as dumb as the title may seem to some it's a great story..) Hot Topic Sneezed On Me by Jasey Rae.

I love fanfiction.net, but the site seems outdated and difficult to find something on. If it wasn't recently published, it's probably near-impossible to find. That being said, fanfiction is amazing. It lets you take someone else's characters and put them into completely random situations.
My favorites are actually Sailor Moon fanfiction, because the main characters in Sailor Moon had such a range that they can be put into any other story and still make it work (Matrix, Christmas Carol, anything!). It's really imaginative the things people have written. I also am a big fan of drabbles (100 word short stories), which can be found frequently on fanfiction websites. They're short and sweet and nice to read when you have a few spare minutes at work (like me). Alicia Blade is my personal favorite of both fanfiction and drabbles. She really has a lovely and creative mind :3

I love both of these sites I found fanfiction while I was young and Fictionpress a little after. I'm mostly a fan of slash but even then on the Inuyasha Fanfics I loved Sesshomaru and Kagome pairings and for Gundam Seed it was anything with Cagali or anything with Kira nad Athrun.

I really like both those sites. I've been a member of both of them for a few years now. There really are some gems in there if you look hard enough. For fanfiction.net, it's nice to see a different perspective on your favourite fandoms sometimes and see how other people interpret things. And it's nice to see some fresh ideas and budding writers on fictionpress.com.
My only problem with fictionpress.com is that it's a little hard to navigate and find what you're looking for. Their categories are just so broad and hard to narrow down. Like in the fantasy section, there's no way to narrow down to high fantasy or more urban fantasy and the like. Otherwise, great sites.

I'm on FanFiction.Net all the time, but I never really got into FictionPress and I don't know why. For some reason, I don't mind reading fanfiction online but I don't care for reading general fiction unless it's in my hand in book form. As for LiveJournal, I never really thought to look for reading material there. I poked around a bit years ago but never stayed with it.

oh i adore fanfiction.net and livejournal. i'm always following people's links to their stories, though, so i've come across a lot of sites that are really good. fictionpress, dreamwidth, delicious, a blog of our own...
i love them all, i'd have to say my favorite fandoms are: star trek 2009, harry potter, supernatural (even though i've never watched a full episode), the covenant, glee (occasionally), psych, final fantasy, power rangers, spiderman (or FF4, or ultimate marvel, wherever he will be found.)
i'm really addicted to them XD i'll read almost anything that turns up in my search filter on ff.net. i rarely put in an exact fandom, just so i can see what i'll pick up.
i mostly read slash or yaoi, 2 boys for those of you who don't know. i'm just not that fond of the straight or femslash relationships :P the gay ones are so much cuter and schmoopier. ^^

I've read way too many to list on here.
But some of them hurt me. Like.....I felt brain cells dying as I read it.....but I couldn't stop because it was a train wreck. You want to look away, but are unable to.
I tend to read Yaoi....so I've come across some male pregnancies. Some good. Some that I felt like I needed some brain bleach afterwards. And then some written in script format. I HATE THAT FORMAT! If I wanted that, I'd go read a screen play.

I started reading on fanfiction.net but I've since moved on to harrypotterfanfiction.com and grangerenchanted.com because I'm a sucker for Harry Potter fics (specifically Dramione). I've found some decent ones but there's a lot of fanfictions that can be painful to read.

Fanfiction is actually one of my favorite sites to browse. I don't have any favorite fandoms or pairings. I don't have any preferences between heterosexual and homosexual pairings, either. I'm just there looking for a good read :3.
The best stories, in my opinion, are true to the original story. I've found some authors that manage to keep in-character no matter what the location or plot. Those are the stories that really keep me interested and make me smile.
The only problem with Fanfiction is the large number of contributors who are just plain illiterate. It really bothers me to read a story that's written in "FuFUfU iM s0 D35u 1337 n 5tUf!!!1 mY st0rYs r SuUuUu mUCh b3t3r d3n u'r3s d35u~!" speech, with script format to boot. (Seriously, I've found stuff written like that. It was duly reported.) Those writers are also the ones that tend to favor completely stoic characters going all soft and... lovey, to keep it PG, for no valid reason whatsoever. It puts me off my tea. D':

I've read stories like that. I've beta'd stories like that. I felt sorry for the poor girl but I had to give up on her. I just couldn't do it anymore.
I enjoy m-preg when it's done well. I even write it sometimes, but instead of "random reason to cause male character from fandom to get pregnant" it's because I created an entirely new species. >_>;; I have a bad habit of doing that.

Usually, if I do a m-preg, I set it off with the male having a genetic and because of that tricky phenomenon as well as whatever is happening in the story the character also has to go through harder prenatal vitamins than any woman.

thats the only kind of mpreg i appreciate reading. i like the carrier gene; the weird magic stuff or, in supernatural's case, demonic/angelic curse gets kind of old really fast. in star trek i really like the carrier gene especially because i'm a sucker for spock/kirk or bones/kirk with kirk mpreg; but also they have the certain alien species rule which allows males to get pregnant XD

To Mrs.Thief, I can totally agree with that. I really hate to find that and sometimes I'll leave a review, however nowadays and even when I first started reading fan fiction, people do not know the meaning of review. I hate the I like it update soon, because whats the point in reviewing if that's all you're going to say. I like something legit, you know, even if it's only a "Why does Rein hurt Seth?", at least you read it and it tells me you're following. Or hell give me criticism, I mean that's whats reviews are for anyways.
I went off on a tangent, but yeah, you leave a review and the writers flips out and threatens to take the story down because you tried to give the person advice. At that point I just tell them to go ahead, and to never expect to become a real Author if you cry over ever critique. Maybe it's blunt but it usually gets the point across.

Back on topic even though I do completely agree with you Azriellia the only Fictionpress story that I absolutely LOVE is Beckett David Saunders and His Red Backpack it's so sweet and tragic at the same time because the main guy has Asperger's Syndrome and he gets really paranoid but she still loves him even though everyone else thinks its a charity case but it's not. I would give it a nine out of ten because sometimes it gets predictable...Still worth the read I think unless you hate mushy gushy stuff then...don't well try but ah just try :)

Theres a site called quizilla.com it's from lyrics poems stories and quizzes. I like their story called 1 - 42 bruises and scars * a.k.a my boyfriend is abusive and the only one who can save me is my totallly hot new teacher. It's really good so far to me. I'm on chapter 14. Granite the author makes some spelling mistakes - nobody's perfect- it has a really good point line and story base. There's stories from nature and school related stuff through fiction and vampire werewolf mermaid types of stories. The site is amazing and it's for any one who loves to write. And express themselves.

I used to go on Quizilla when I was younger and let me tell you there were some very interesting stories on there. Lol, but it was always really good stuff, no such as thing as censors when I was young. Or maybe the places I went to were just lax when it came to censoring.

My favorite AND most hated story ever ever put on the net is probably REALLY famous already. However, let's name it, shall we?
My Immortal, by Tara Gillespie. First seen on fanfiction.net then removed, thus a "prepp" or maybe "gothik" person put it on a site made just to host the story. P: The synopsis of this is rather .... impossible to say the least, the plot is non-existent and it is rated mature for the horrible spelling and grammmarrrzz!!!11!one ;3 So, good luck to those who are trying to read it for the first time, it's filled with l33t0rz!! xD
However, I'll dish out what is obvious. It's a modern-ize Hogwarts fanfic, however everyone is "emo" and "gotik"/"goffik" or well, gothic to us "prepz". The main character is a girl named Ebony Dark'ness Dementia Raven Way, however she is also known as Enoby and other various spellings of her name, and she is a vampire witch who is like total in LOOVVE with the OHSOHOTTIE Gerard Way. Lyke, he's sooo hawt. Tsst. ;3
Anyways, this fanfic is really just read for the lulz of life. I totally reccomend it. P:
(Even though I was nearly ripping my hair out at the stupidity of it, and getting pretty sick from mine and my bestie's at the time's drinking game with soda.) P: Yeah, that's all I got for now.
Oh wait, I remember this Vietnamese one, was amazing. Had a sad ending, but people wouldn't quit bitching so she made an alternate that was happy. Sorta sucked P: More info on it is like, they were in a gang and she ran off with some guy... The girl was often abused by her mom or step-mother? Something like that, yeah. So if anyone knows that one, yeah I love you. What's it called again?
