Has anyone else read the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett?
Man, that has got to be my favorite series EVER.

For those of you that don't know, Discworld is a really great satire series.
These people have written a much better summary of it than I could,
or you could spend a moment browsing the Discworld wiki.
Either way, you should definitely start reading it.

I haven't finished reading the whole series yet,
but my favorite book so far is probably Going Postal.
Mainly because of "the curse that lives under the floor." o vo

Enough chatter from me.
What are your favorite Discworld moments?
Do you think it's a series you'd be interested in?
[Hint: YES. > u>]

Spend a moment on the discworld wiki? That thing is enormous. Anyway, I love the discworld series, particularly the night watch and the witches. The wizards (wizzards) talk to much, and it gets tedious.

But saying that, I did love The Last Continent. The bit where they have to explain reproduction to that god is crack up.

It is really big!
That's where I first learned about Discworld, but I was too
intimidated by the size to spend more than a moment.

Ffff, the God of Evolution, wasn't it? Good times xD.

Naw, a god of creation. Obviously not a very good one, but creation nonetheless.

Discworld is one of my favourite series of books - Terry Pratchett is a genius. I just wish I could write as well as him.

The first book I read in the series was Small Gods. It's weird, 'cause there are loads of references in that book that only make sense if you've read the other books, e.g. the Omnian version of Dibbler. And even after reading about 3 times, I still didn't realise "Brutha" was pronounced like "brother"...

Why is it that in a lot of stories when there is a lot of bad things happening around and in front of them they want to sit there and talk and talk and talk bla bla bla bla... >_>

It really is a tremendous set of writing. Even outside of the Discworld novels, Terry Pratchett is a fantastic author.

Thanks to a Waterstones gift voucher for my birthday, I found a hardback graphic novel containing The Colour of Magic and The Light Fantastic, both of which I've read in print before but never seen in other forms.

I love that there is so much more to it all than what can be contained within just one book. Like flicky1991 said earlier, there are references throughout books, and I find they give you as a reader a little extra something in pleasure if you pick up on them.

I've still yet to get my hands on all of the Discworld novels, but I'd like to collect the whole set one day, so I can take my pick for re-reading whenever. :P
