My "library" is scattered all throughout the house.
I really, really need to buckle down and organize everything
because I honestly have no idea how many books I actually have.
I know I have several Buffy the Vampire Slayer paperbacks. Some are tucked away in drawers and trunks, some on actually GASP on a shelf. I've got a bunch of non-fiction books about BtVS too if that makes any kind of sense. Like, scholarly analysis of what the show means, themes and metaphors.
All the Anita Blake books - I think that's seventeen now?
Again these books are scattered everywhere. We found two of them in the DVD cabinet this week.
I just found ALL of my Gregory McGuire books (Wicked, Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister and Mirror, Mirror) they were in a trunk. I know I've got some H.P Lovecraft floating around. What's actually in this room on a shelf and easily accessible to me right at this moment?
A Criminal Investigation textbook.
A book on wand making and wand lore.
A big huge honking Edgar Allan Poe book
A big huge honking Sherlock Holmes volume
An assortment of classic literature like Beowulf, Milton's Paradise Lost and Dante's Inferno.
And there's a crate of terribly unorganized comic books and so, so many more of them are floating all around the house. Writing all this out I feel like I should get off my duff and organize everything but it's three in the morning and I have to work tomorrow.. *headdesk*

Before I moved my library took up a whole closet! The move made me pick and choose between favorites. A close friend is keeping the ones I couldn't bring with me, but I still miss them a lot! Fortunately my friends and family know about my unhealthy obsession with books and my small collection is growing by the day. ;)

Heh, I think the top floor of my house is actually sagging under the weight of all the books I own. >.>
Between my mother and I we have several hundred books lying around or on shelves, mostly paperbacks but a few of our favourites are hard cover because we can't wait for the paperback release when they first come out. <3

I still live in a house with my parents and siblings, so if I count the entire household's book supply, we probably have at least a thousand books lying around. In my 'personal' collection, though, I have a small bookshelf which is currently overflowing, and an entire section of my cupboard filled with the ones that wouldn't fit or I outgrew. I probably have around two hundred to three hundred books in my room alone.
In general, My favourite books tend to be those hardbacks with coverslips that you can remove, and have that beautiful hard covering underneath. I like smelling them, and feeling them as much as I do reading them. >_>; Out of all of these though, my favourite book(s) at the moment would have to be my sister's collection of Paul Stewart and Chris Riddel's The Edge Chronicles. These books are, in all honesty, the most beautifully written and masterfully illustrated books I've ever read. While they are aimed at a reasonably young audience (pre-teens), my mother read them to me when I was nine, and just today I finished my re-read of them. I read all eleven of these roughly 300 page avegrage books in five days. Every time I finished one of the trilogies that make up the overall series, I'd cry myself to sleep because I knew that I was finally coming closer to the end, and because of how beautiful the endings were. I'd highly recommend them to anyone who likes fantasy/adventure, and doesn't mind children's literature.

Ugh, I have waaay too many books. I've gotten some as gifts, others from used book sales, and I've bought some of them myself. They're all piled up on my dresser, on shelves in my room, and in boxes in my closet. That isn't even half of the books I've read though because I used to borrow most of the books I read from the library. I went there almost every day after school. I prefer softcover books for the most part, they're cheaper and more compact. ^_^

I think I have 25 or more books. LOL. Half of them were the ones I bought in my childhood. I started reading books when I was 5 or 6 years old. :XD I'm liking my two James Patterson books, The Beach House and Violets Are Blue. I want to buy more of his books! :XD

I have a library of about 30 books maybe. I always by my books used or on discount racks or on sales. Books can get pretty pricy so i definitly wouldnt always pay fulll prive. I have payed full price maybe twice. But only for books thati really want and absolutly can not wait for a sale then yeah i will pay the twenty or thirty dollar price range.
As for like E-books and stuff like that nah, i prefer my books genuinely real and like concrete and when im done with it i want to put it on my shelf to maybe read later. That is just how i am. :p

I don't think I've ever actually counted my collection of books, but I know I have well over 500 books (not counting my manga). Most of these are paperback fantasy novels, some romance. Some of my shelves have classics that I was introduced to in my mythology courses or from my Honors Colloqium course where we studies a lot of ancient philosophical texts and read ancient poems (translated into English, of course). I kept every single book from college (even the boring ones that I could barely read through without wanting to stab myself), just in case I need them to reference in the future. I'm kind of a pack-rat like that, I guess.
I have a physical library in my house (it was on my list of requirements when I was shopping for my first home... to have a room dedicated wholly to my books), and I LOVE it, though I have conceded to putting a computer desk in there with a desktop and printer in one of the corners... so I guess people could technically call it an "office" now, but BLAH. It's my library and that's that. It's nowhere close to my dream library though. I remember telling my parents so many times while I was growing up that if they would just stick me in the amazing library in Beauty and The Beast, put a bed, shower, toilet, and supply me with meals, I would be in Heaven and need nothing else for the rest of my life. I still hold this concept to be true :-)

Same here only I got the fist paper back collection and then later on the jumbo set with all seven books in all. It's heavy but I love it. I kind of like reading the series in the publishing order. It's fun. I have a total of 400 books mostly series and graphic novels but I have a lot of fiction and non fiction as well.
