So which books do you like that has been made movies of??

I really like Percy Jackson (don't judge me please ;D) I do love Harry Potter too, but i haven't read the books, so it doesn't count....

I like both of those, but also liked the Eragon book (which was killed by the movie.) I'm quite excited for the Hunger Games movie, as well as the City of Bones one. Ooooh, also Going Postal, which was a book by Terry Pratchett.

Is this supposed to be about books we love that have been made into movies or books we love that have been made into movies we love? If liking the movie product is a requirement, I struggle to think of any of my favorite books that have been made into movies that I love.

Its supposed to be books that you love that has been made movies of (don't need to love the movies)

THE GODFATHER.

I actually liked the book more than the movies still, but the movies are also awesome. <3
One of the only instances where I absolutely love the movie adaptation and the book.

I also love the Harry Potter books and (less so, but still enjoyable) the movies.

Watership Down is another book I love and it has a really old movie but I've never seen it.

To Kill a Mockingbird (I love Gregory Peck as Atticus! <3)

I did really enjoy the Percy Jackson books, not the movie as much but oh well.

Hm... there are more. Interview with the Vampire I think I actually like the movie more, but it depends on my mood. And on how much I'm crushing over Tom Cruise as Lestat. Or Antonio Banderas as Armand. <3 (Louis can take his puffy chipmunk cheeks and go away x3)

The V for Vendetta movie was alright, but they missed so much of the books and changed too much for my liking.

The cartoon version of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass... was alright, but so much better than Tim Burton's version (shutter). Of course, the books are the best versions.

The Watchmen movie was probably my favorite movie version of a book. It was very true to the books, leaving out a few things that weren't too important to the story and I can forgive them for that.

Ohmigosh! How did I forget that one! I loved the movie, and Claudia was perfect, but Armand shouldn't have been old and Spanish. Wasn't he supposed to be in the body of like a 19 year old?

Claudia was as good as she could've been. Kirsten Dunst played the part very, very well, but bringing that character to life on screen is simply impossible with a child actor. Interview With the Vampire is one of the few movies that I like as well as the original, though Armand upsets me a bit every time I watch it. Silence of the Lambs is another decent movie adaptation.

Where everything is getting remakes these days, I could stand to see a movie of The Vampire Lestat.

Hm, you guys do make a point. I think Armand was supposed to be a lot younger/smooth sexy. However I am completely biased because I think that all incarnations of Antonio Banderas are sexy by default no matter what. And his voice! *dies* Although why they had a spanish guy playing a frenchman I don't know.

Oh! That reminds me. Phantom of the Opera was another book I love that got made into a movie. And a silent movie. And a play/musical. ^___^

Wasn't that a Sweeney Todd situation, though, where the book was made into a musical and then the musical was made into a movie?

Well, yes.

But the point is, it started as a book and did eventually end up as a movie lol. Never mind my lack of chronology. There have been so many adaptations of Phantom of the Opera. <3

A book I love that will be made into a movie is Scarecrow by Matthew Reilly. A great book but I don't understand why they are making a movie of the third book first. If people watch the movie without reading the books they will not understand a lot of things.

Lord of The Rings was good too. I only wish they had made The Hobbit too. Alas, you can't have everything you want.

The Hobbit (2012 film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Making a two-part movie out of the shortest book in the series. I don't see how they can cut anything in good conscience. :)

I usually prefer the book behind the movie to be honest. I liked the Harry Potter movies and Memoirs of a Geisha though.

I've read plenty of books that have been turned into movies... the only time I've ever liked the movies better than the books, however, is when they came out with the Lord of the Rings Trilogy!! I am probably going to get lambasted for this, but I HATE JRR Tolkien books... I can't read through them all the way without falling asleep... sooo many useless details and not fast-paced enough. The movies, though, were awesome!

I'd say Communion. It wasn't a FAVORITE book of mine, but it was actually pretty good. But the movie I don't think lived up to what the book was trying to say. Hell, they actually got a few scenes wrong in the movie. :/

I loved the Dragons Fire and Ice series, I really want to watch the tv series they made called a Game of Thrones. What killed me is the fifth book in the series wasn't released until several years later when they made the tv series.

Yeah! I thought the Game of Thrones series was actually pretty good!! Still not as excellent as the books, but they did a good job on it.

I can't wait for Season 2 of Game of Thrones. It'll be epic!!

I haven't read the books yet that True Blood is based off. I love the TV series, but I hear the books are quite a bit different. I'm not sure if I want to read them or not >.<

I'm the same way, I like not knowing whats going to happen next in True Blood and if I were to read the books I wouldn't be able to stop myself from finding out what will happen next
