These books, are HUGE! My mother and my sister read the series, I personally hte reading and got to page 2 and got bored. The Twilight book series was very slow moving. I know there is one part in Breaking Dawn where they stand there thinking about what to do for about 5-10 pages. (not exactly sure how many pages) I would rather watch the movies, and get it over with quicker :D

I read all 5 books of Twilight saga (5th - The Short Second Life Of Bree Tanner). The 1st one was pretty boring but only 1st few chapters. Action begins when Jacob told Bella a legend. I don't remember which chapter but i think it was 6th. Generally for me this saga was a comedy :D. Bella's thoughts was very funny for me ;). If you don't want read those books, you won't lose anythink. Some thinks in the movies are completely different. But remember some books are boring from the begining ;P

The movies have poor actors, but maybe its just me emulating my hate for Kristin Stuart. I preferred Robert as Cedric in Harry Potter 4.

The books, i'm sorry to say, were very childish to me. I read all of them and the second one was the only one i liked because she was depressed throughout it and those books appeal to me. Meyer writes very poorly, and it always feels like i'm talking to a middle school student who doesn't think things through. Breaking Dawn was the end of it for me, but i don't want to spoil it for you so i won't say anything. I DID get through it all, and I was very unhappy with everything.

You are right. they spend an ass load of time just thinking about planning to strategize about the fight that will be sometime in the future. lol.

(hate the series, but team edward just for kicks ;D)

I'm currently on the third book, rather surprised I made it that far to be honest. For me, these books are the brainless reads one does to pass time. I still don't see what the obsession with them though. Bella seems to be kind of a spoiled child who still screams 'mary sue' to me, even with her perfect flaws and looks that are supposed to be utterly different than everyone else in Forks, cause she's a unique snowflake darnit! I don't care much for Edward, to be honest. Even if anytime Bella is describing him, he's beautiful and cold and perfect. But I won't get started on stalker mcstalkerface Edward.

I have a few nitpicks about it, such as the ehh..'half albino' thing. Wut? You either are or aren't. You can be pale, to be sure. I've met some albino folk, and ah..their skin isn't like fine porcelain.. And they certainly don't have dark locks unless it is from a bottle. But I digress.

I'm glad that I borrowed them, and I'm even lazily enjoying the comedy of the books (thrills and chills? Not as much). Would I ever read these books again? Not likely. Would I buy them? Ah. No.

I did get a giggle out of the no shirt comment from Edward and a real 'heh' when it was mirrored in the movie. >.>

It really depends on what you're into in terms of reading. I, personally, find the books extremely annoying, because of how brainless and lovestruck Bella is. She's just not a likeable character, from what I've seen, as I've never met a person who liked her, even if they were a 'Twihard.' They are good for a laugh though - the way Meyer spends paragraph upon paragraph describing his body, skin, and eyes is hilarious. By no means is it realistic at all, even for a fantasy book with vampires and werewolves, because even the humans in it seem to be from a far off world.

The real problem for me, though, was in the last book when Bella does something literally physically and medically impossible. It just irked me very badly. But, I guess it all depends on the type of book you like. You've probably already been turned off from the series though. All the feedback on this thread is saying that it's horrid and only worth it for a good laugh, haha.

Step back. I have personal experience.

Everyone's already shared some of their problems with the series. For the most part, I agree. Generally, I have stayed apathetic in discussion, though. But, I have learned the truth. I did it last night.

So, I was just standing in the school commons, minding my own business (for the most part) when out of nowhere, a buddy backs into me. This causes me to fall onto their back, at which point they grab me and pull me up for a piggyback ride. I'm all, "Okay. Cool. Whatev," when they suddenly begin to sprint. This person is a track star of sorts, so this was pretty darn fast. They also begin yelling something about being Edward Cullen (since when am I a Bella?) and scaring the living crap out of me.

Down to what matters, this situation could never be romantic. I was bouncing all over and afraid of falling and it hurt like poo, and this person wasn't even a rock-hard lump of ice.

Moral of the story: if ever one tries the apparently romantic scenes from Twilight in real life... they better darn well be prepared for at least a bit of therapy.

BACK IN THE DAY...we didn't have the Twilight movies out. We had to read! And boy, was it awesome. Proud Twihard. If it weren't for Twilight, I would have never even read any other books. Twilight made me want to read books. And I used to HATE reading. Now I'm a book nerd.

I personally thought they were good reads. After the first few chapters there is lots of excitement. I found the characters believable and well-built, and the plot was creative enough. Bella is witty through the entire seiries, which I enjoy. She is also drawn to the danger, which makes you think she's a little crazy. It makes it interesting.

I dislike the movies, but I can never enjoy the movie after I read the book. I think Kristin's monotone voice and childish acting can put anyone to sleep. I figure this is the reason Twilight has been turned into a 'Who's hotter?' contest.

In theory, every girl wants an Edward in her life. Dangerous, romantic, gorgeous, and head over heels for you? Heck yes. But that doesn't happen, so we pretend. We read.

2 pages? Someone has a short attention span. The first few chapters in Twilight aren't very good, I'll admit, but after that they are. I used to be one of those fangirls that would kill you if you didn't like Twilight. Luckily, I'm not anymore, but I still like the books.
