I've come to learn that some people write in regular notebooks, some like to write in sketch journals, some like to write in regular journals, some like to type things out on their computer, and some like to write on loose leaf paper and maybe place the paper in a binder or folder.

What do you use?

I tend to do various methods. Right now, I'm using a notebook and my computer.

It depends on what I'm writing.

I keep my journals in notebooks so I can write in them pretty much anywhere, whenever I get bored.

As for my actual stories, though, I prefer to use a computer. I feel like I write better when I'm typing. I type much faster than I write by hand, and I feel like writing by hand, I can't keep up with my thoughts, and a lot of the story somehow gets left out because of that... I'm not sure that that makes any sense, though. xD

When it comes to poetry, I would much rather write by hand, though. It's not really a problem then, because I need time to think through each verse regardless, and I almost feel like typing makes me feel too rushed to come up with something. And I need a certain atmosphere to write poetry very well in the first place, and I think having a screen in front of me would most likely ruin that feeling for me. So I normally write my poetry in notebooks, but then I have a blank, hardcover book that I copy it all down into later.

I have notebooks that I write in and I also write on my computer in Word. When I am writing in my notebook I really do prefer to write in pen, even if I am writing something I may make mistakes in because I want to separate it from my class work that I write in pencil.

As weird as this may sound I write in an a old school diary, that is a book that you're supposed to use to organise your life for the year. I even decorated the back cover, back when I used to write fanfiction. Haven't written fiction in a while though.

I write in notepad on my computer. I can edit it, but I don't get sidetracked by things like font, or italics, or bolding, or anything else fancy.

I write on anything I can get my hands on!! hahaha I prefer notebooks, computers and typewriters. With paper its awesome because it seems more personal, like if your writing for a long time you feel the pain. lol but with computers theres all the spell checking and getting the lines exactly where you want them and everything else word can do. Its also amazing how much faster one can write when using a computer sometimes. :) and as for typewriters, I just think they are awesome and fun to use!

I used to do this too, back in my fanfiction writing days. However now I prefer to either handwrite my stuff or just use a Microsoft Word to type it up.

Well. I'm a lazy person. So, I generally tend to type things out. But I also like filling up notebooks, the flipping through the pages. It's like, fanning around money, but... Word-money.
So it's half an' half for me!

I don't think there's anything better than opening a new notebook and knowing that on the first page, you can create something amazing! n I like your money comparison! its pretty great! haha

What I tend to do is write the summaries of the stories I'm coming up with on lose leaf paper (I usually carry around a big pad of A4 which I use to take notes in my classes) so I've always got paper around. What I notice is that I tend to begin my stories on lose leaf paper too after the summaries and if I think they can go somewhere I'll transfer it to computer where it's easier to edit things. I find that, when I'm writing, the ideas are coming so quick and I can't keep up so my writing...becomes mush basically and really hard to understand. It's at that point that I actually have to stop and think otherwise the paper ends up being useless and I hate to waste paper. I'm thinking of actually starting anotebook with all the summaries I come up with to keep track of them all, especially the fanfiction ideas I come up with. They seem to come into my head at random times and I always like to have something to note down waht I've come up with before it gets away.
That's the most annoying thing, when an idea completely runs away from you and you forget what you were about to write. I absolutely HATE that feeling!!!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely hate writing stories on the computer, but I love writing by hand in a spiral notebook. My stuff isn't any good to me unless I do it that way first and then copy it onto a computer.
