My favorites of her books would have to be The Black Gryphon, The White Gryphon & The Silver Gryphon. Can anyone recommend any other books of hers? Thanks!

love mercedes lackey, i had read the obsidian triology and i would highly recommend it. as well theres now a newer series being written that kinda of takes over many years after the trilogy had ended set in the same rough idea setting called the phoenix unchained. currently i'm stuck waiting out The Phoenix Endangered with its septemeber 08 release date. but it IS alomost here! follows the same fantasy settings unicorms and centaurs and magic :)

I used to love her books. x_x My favorite Valdemar books were the Tarma and Kethry ones, but I think my favorite overall were the Bard's Tale series and Bedlam Bard books. The Diana Tregarde books were pretty good and, I think, that character popped up in one of the Bedlam Bard books. I'm not sure, though, because I haven't read the later ones and kind of refuse to. XD

I can't really think of any urban fantasy series that are close to that, unfortunately. You might find something interesting in the paranormal genre but most of those seem to be romance. Maybe Jim Butcher? I haven't read him, but he's supposed to be really good.

I like her fairy godmother book the other books that she did in that series i'm not to crazy about her elemtal mage series is also good.
