vampire books

Anita Blake
Laurell K Hamilton

Should have plaques saying the best when it comes to vampires.
If you want to create your own vampire novel though Vampires by Nigel Suckling (i think) has history of vampires from different countries, just the usual stuff,
so if you want to look up the history of vampires Nigel's book is good value and size (slim book)

There is an awesome novel I read called Thirst. There is Fledging too, and for comedy/romance lovers there is the Vampire Queen Betsy series. It starts with Undead and Unwed, Undead and Unemployed, Undead and Unpopular and so on.

Good books, these vampire make.

I love vampire stories, but I was never really into Hamilton or Rice... I just don't like their writing style...
...I'm picky like that...

I'm thinking of writing my own vampire novel...
...I must get to work on that...^_^

I love Vampire Books. I had this addiction since summer when I first read Twilight. I already finished off New Moon and Eclipse.

I also finished 'In the forest of night' last night. It pretty good novel.

Also I hope you enjoy Twilight as much as I do.

Oh my golly goodness! I love vampire books! I buy novels on vampires all the time! I go from novels to even manga. I love reading books, and it’s like one of my favorite hobbies. I at least read one book every single week and for at home, or even at school! I’m a big reader and I guess that what makes me, well me me. If you just under stood what I said, you must be smart because I don’t even know what I just said. Laugh out loud. If any of you get a chance to read this post, I would be happy that some one read it. I hope I can get avis that look as good as all of yours soon. But one can only dream. –sigh-

try Kim Harrison shes a fantastic writer, the books feature all sorts of creature, werewolves, vampires, witches, fairies, pixies, great fun ti read!

I'm going to put in a word for Christopher Pike too. It looks like he was mentioned a couple of times but he's one of the authors who isn't mentioned as often for his vampire books. While I realize they're YA, Sita's such an awesome character and he writes so well, it really doesn't matter.

There is Peeps, By Scott Westerfield
It's a Great book about Vampires, A real pager turner. I Highly Recommend this book.

The only vampire book I've ever read was The Silver Kiss by Annette Curtis Klause. It really sucked. It was angsty and emo and annoying in the extreme, and made me wish I'd picked Hiroshima as my summer reading book.

There is a series called the Noble Dead saga, but Barb and JC Hendee. It's about a half vampier that hunts vampires. Really good

Well, I've never been a fan of the pretty pretty vampires having sezzy sex with their beautiful kin.. xP But I am a fan of the whole vampires and the undead genre. :3

If you aren't looking for something to masturbate to, then I'd really suggest the Darren Shan series. It's quirky, and fun, and yes, a little childish at times, but the plot is good and it's nice and easy to read. There are twelve books in total in the series, but they're all pretty short so it's a quick read overall.

A quick cap up of the series is that it follows the adventures and struggles of a boy from the UK named Darren Shan, who becomes a vampire to save his friend's life, even though said friend wanted to be a vampire and Darren didn't. So, anyway, that's about all I can say without spoiling things, but it does get a lot more interesting.

And a lot of people die. >.>

My vote definitely goes to Amelia Atwater-Rhodes.

She writes them in an absolute lovely manner, emphasizing the dark nature, but keeping themfrom either being wimps, or being monsters at the same time. Good oppostion in her world too. There is a balance, and you don't have to worry about bloody scenes of carnage...*rolls her eyes* that's too distracting to me. The ones I've read are:

In the Forests of the Night
Demon in my View (<3 Aubrey)
Shattered Mirror (<333 Nikolas&Christopher)

I probably shouldn't love Nikolas so much...But... well....<< I can't help it...

RoyalSquishy 10-14-2007 11:34 PM

The only vampire book I've have seen is Interview with a Vampire, I guess its pretty good, if you don't have to do a report/project on it. :P

I don't remember the author, but I think her name was Anne Rice. Interview with a Vampire is the first of the series I believe.

Vampire Chicka2 10-15-2007 06:56 AM

I have tons of Vampire books im thinkg of copying the books online for people to read but i dont think i can. but yeah theres a series called Vampire Kisses, Kissing Coffins, Vampireville, and Dance with a Vampire. another series called Cirque Du Freak its really good no romance like Kissing coofins or Twiglight more action than anything but still really good. and another called Vampirates witch is new and totally awsome its about twins.

blind_phoenix 10-17-2007 04:51 AM

Twilight and the rest of that series are amazing!

Morrigan's Cross by Nora Roberts. Personally I have a deep hatered for Nora Roberts and romance novels in particular, but the Morrigan's Cross series is very unique. It's about a war to end humanity lead by Vampires and 6 chosen people have to stop them. One of them is a Vampire who has left the vampire path and is helping them.

Over all it's a pretty good series if you can stand all the romance in it.

Gwendill 10-19-2007 01:29 AM

there is a good one i'v read called "Silver Kiss" you mite like it.then there is also um i think it is called freakshow or something like that they are both good in my opinion but one is realy sad.

YukiDemon 10-20-2007 09:12 PM

Hey I know this has probably been mentioned but there is the Vampire kisses series...speaking of which, does anyone know if there is a thread speaking purely on that series, I would not want to make a thread on it only to get it locked because someone else already has written about it...thanks

Blackfoxakujin 10-21-2007 07:29 AM

Personally, I LOATHE the Twilight series. To me it's too cliche.

If you really want to read a good book series, I suggest Dead Witch Walking, it's got vampires, werewolves, witches, demons, elves, etc. all in one big mumbo jumbo, but it's not confusing and makes sense, even with all the characters it has. I think the 5th one was just released in August (I think itwas the 5th one...Maybe the 6th) and I'm still attached to it, I didn't get bored with it like I did Harry Potter, which I didn't even bother reading after book 4. And I probably won't bother reading the sequel to Eclipse, whenever that may come out.

Some other good books I've read, if you want something with just vampires, are Love at First Bite (Sequel is Bite Me if You Can )
and The Turning (Sequel is Posession, and the third book is called Ashes to Ashes ).

I like both of those series because they actually have an interesting, original, and dynamic plot while still sticking to the old fashioned vampire fantasy thingys.

By the way, if anyone knows of any good demon books, let meh know. xD

Takuto 10-21-2007 03:11 PM

The Anne Rice ones are the best.
