Well, I'm not reading anything right now, but last night I finished Le Petit Prince in French XDD The last voluntary (AKA not needed for school) was Nineteen minutes by Jodi Picoult. GREAT book!

Right now I'm reading a book I got for Christmas called In The President's Secret Service by Ronald Kessler. It's about the Secret Service and the security around the White House/President. It also includes anecdotes about the President, his family, and other political officials. I really like it so far.

Pride and Prejudice is light reading for me.=3
In fact, I think that's what I'll read during my break at work today.

Well, I'm not implying it's heavy reading, maybe I should've referred to Dead As A Doornail as my pulp reading instead. :P

I'm currently leafing through various books on fairy tales. It is for an essay, but it's so much fun I keep getting tempted to read parts that are completely irrelevant. Which wouldn't really matter but for the fact I need to finish my essay tomorrow, hah.
I love the more faithful, gruesome versions of fairy/folk tales.

And it baffles me that, when people see me reading Pride & Prejudice, they think I'm reading it for school.

Anyway, I'm going back and forth between P&P, and The Reincarnationist by M.J. Rose.

So far it's been rather fascinating. The only things that force me to put it down are work, the needs for food and sleep, and coming on here.
Or P&P.

It's just because it is so commonly read for school and a lot of people don't like being forced to read a book for school, so they won't like the book on principle. Which is why a lot of classic literature has been stamped as boring in the minds of people (young people especially).

Hm.
Not that it's been in the curriculum for any of the local schools here, but I do understand the view of any classics as boring and/or a chore.

I guess you could say it amuses me, that people think I have to read it for school, rather than that I'm reading it for fun. It's my second favorite book (the first being The Secret Garden), and I don't know how many times I've read it now.

I've been on a Stephen King binge lately.
Finished Carrie a while back, but I've been busy with school finals, so I haven't been able to read a whole lot.
I'm reading Cujo right now. I'm not very far into it. Looking forward to reading The Shining and Misery.

I am currently reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. As much as I love the book it now scares me as ever since my grammar has improved, I have had thoughts in the back of my mind saying things like "Should there be a comma there?" or "has has? Where is ze comma?" Never used to bother me at all x.x I still enjoy reading it though.

Stephen King xD I plan to start reading The Dark Tower - The Gunslinger by him, having heard that he is a very good writer. (Been meaning to read one of his books for ages >.<)

:O Lemon, the Dark Tower series is my favorite series ever! I love those books. I would wholehearedly totally recommend The Gunslinger to you. It's awesome. *thumbs up*

And I think I know what you mean about Harry Potter, heh. I love those books but J.K. definitely improved as a writer throughout the series.

I'm still reading Cujo, but I finally got to the intense, awesome part. XP
Been able to read tons lately due to waiting time at the end of finals during classes.
I'm totally going to read the Darktower series one of these days. But, I'm really interested in reading The Green Mile series. Probably because I want to see the movie again with Tom Hanks.

Right now I'm reading Anna Karenina... but I will probably abandon it when classes start next week. I'll be reading all kinds of different world lit for my Intro to World Lit class. :P
