I just finished reading "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins. It's pretty much the first book I've read in ages that I couldn't put down. I think I'm going to get the sequels soon.
Meanwhile, I've started reading "A Clockwork Orange" by Anthony Burgess.

I just finished, maybe a few days ago, Unwind by Neal Shusterman and I absolutely loved it. It's kind of an issues book, because it takes a literal middle ground on abortion by letting parents retroactively 'unwind' a kid up until 18 years of age for any reason. They say that because the kid's parts are still in use, the kid is still technically alive..
But it takes the point of view of the kids who are scheduled to be unwound, and it makes some good points for both sides. But.. it is also an awesome chase scenes book. I loved the parts at the end to bits and pieces partly because of my fascination for deserts and also the escalating climax.
Haha, I sound like I'm selling it. But really, I loved the characters. They actually seemed to grow. Also I liked the interactions, how one character got into another's head and, well. I did like it so much!
But that's my taste. It actually didn't have a lot of pro/anti abortion stuff. Everything that was, was because the story demanded it, and that I can live with. C:

22% of the way through Catching fire (reading on my wife's Kindle Fire. Lol) I find it annoying that a whole trilogy is written in present tense, but the story is very well related. I often put the book down at the end of the day feeling oppressed and hopeless at the situations the characters find themselves in with the government. I often have the feeling that America could so easily become Panem.

I'm currently reading Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.
Its such a good book, should probably try it, its so interesting. :XD :squee: :eager: :ninja:
Its about a girl named Grace (12), who meets pack of wolves; well technically she was on her tire swing and got dragged by them into the wolves & than she met Sam, one of the werewolves - but was different from all of the others with his Yellow eyes which draws her in. And now she's all grown up about 16-17? Such a good story, don't want to spoil it but its SO GOOD!

I'm finally reading the Eragon series, after borrowing it from a friend to have it collect dust on my shelf. :/ I've finished the first two and am really looking forward to the next two. :) Besides those, I haven't been reading much besides good ol' textbooks and class notes. Too much time spent for school. :/

I just finished reading Howl's Moving Castle. It was so good! Different from the movie, but both the film and the novel were excellent in their own ways. Right now it's a tossup between whether I read this one harlequin romance novel that's kind of infamous for being horrible (I want to read it 'for the lulz') or starting another series. Decisions, decisions.

I am currently reading The Fortune of War by Patrick O'Brian.
This is the sixth book in a series of at least 20 books all about two main characters Captain Jack Aubrey and the surgeon and naturalist Stephen Maturin. It historical fiction set in the beginning of the 1800's and is about naval life and so much more than that.
My favorite part of this series is the description of the relationships between the main characters, the social commentary and the descriptions of the natural world.
Also Stephan and Jack are just simply amusing!

Wow, good luck with that Mr Wink! You're going to have quite a few years' worth of reading if you want to get through all of his publications, though. At least make sure that you read "The Children of Húrin," it's one of his best. :)
I'm currently reading "A Feast for Crows" by George RR Martin.
