I read more than one book at a time. ^^;;

Just got finished with Night Train to Rigel by Timothy Zahn. ((Very good, somewhat realistic science fiction, btw))

I'm STILL reading The Art of War by Sun Tzu....oh! And I have the third volume of Elemental Gelade by Mayumi Azuma((A manga)) sitting in my lap right now.

I swear our school's trying to kill us. Just for English, and History, we have to read five books. I'm trying to read some before vacation starts, and the first one I chose was A Seperate Peace, by John Knowles. A friend had said that it was really good, but so far I'm finding it to be mediocre, and quite boring.

I'm currently reading Congo, by Michael Crichton, and I just finished his The Terminal Man. I've been having a slow reading month so I figured his books would be a good way to get me back into reading, since they are enjoyable and a really easy read.

I read Susan Cooper's The Dark Is Rising at the beginning of the month and it took me an unbelievable 11 days to finish... it was good, but I just couldn't get into it for more than a couple of pages at a time. I'm not sure I felt it was good as I was expecting, considering how fabulous people kept saying it was. I'll still probably pick up the rest of the books in the sequence some time in the future, but they're not at the top of my To-Be-Read list.

I'm kind of eyeing ...And Ladies of the Club for my next read, though the general consensus seems to be that the first 100 pages or so are really slow.

I am reading "Guards! Guards!" by Terry Pratchet, (a marvelous book) as well as Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensabilities" Both books are quite pleasing, though the latter is quite dull.

I just finished reading an e-book called 'Shevraeth in Marloven Hess' by Sherwood Smith for the second time. I'd love to read it more often, but I find that it's a pain to read online and although I printed it out, I had to paper clip the pages and they keep on falling out and books are just so much easier to read.

It's a really good book, although I think that many girls wouldn't really enjoy it as it's more of a guys book. I really only read it because I was already introduced to the main character in another book. I say this because it's a book about a lot of war and military tactics, in fact the Marloven Hess that's mentioned in the title is a military state. It's about a young courtier who, thanks to his family's fear of him being murdered by their King, is sent out of his home country and sent to the country of his ancestors of warriors and he has to not only unlearn all the courtly skills he has learnt (as his deuling and horseback riding are pathetic to the warriors) but also learn their ways and put up with being the first foreigner ever allowed in the warriors military school.

Here's the link if you want to read it: http://www.sff.net/people/Sherwood/w...Shevraeth.html

Long Walk to Freedom, by Nelson Mandela. It's his autobiography, and offers an insight into the culture in which he grew up that influenced how he became who he is (was? Is he dead? I'm a current affairs no-go zone). It's a really amazing read, and easy to follow for everyone - although probably better for those older than 16ish, because of the subject matter. I'm only up to chapter 5 but already hooked.

I've also just finished God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy, which I'd also recommend. We had to read it for school assessment, and although it took me a few chapters to enjoy the story, once you're into it, you will love it. It's so well written, and her use of the English language is better than many native English speakers.

For summer reading I had to read Jane Eyre (again) by Charlotte Bronte. One of my favorites, still, and I enjoyed reading it over again.

Also, I had to read The Chosen by Chaim Potok, and just finished that about 30 minutes ago. Fantastic read. I really recommend it.

And, again, I had to read a third book. I read it yesterday, since it really is a day's read. It was Elie Wiesel's account of his life during the Holocaust, Night. It's really hard to read. I don't recommend it for the light-hearted -- I even struggled reading some of the things and subjects that were written about.

I would love to read more, but I have so much more work to get done. T_T At least I got my summer reading completed already. ;D

The last book I read was Angels and Demons. It made me all hoppy and excited and I loved it SOOOO much!

I just finished the newest Dresden Files book White Knight. Another excellent book, I keep waiting to be disappointed or bored considering the number of volumes but Butcher's writing still makes me laugh out loud.
Though I'll miss a certain character, I wish that part of the story was more involved.

At the moment I'm reading Shopaholic and Sister by Sophie Kinsella. Total chick lit, but it's nice to read something light and fluffy for a change  I actually like this genre a lot more than I thought i would, I guess being a female in my twenties makes it really easy to relate to, and like.

After blitzing through the Harry Potter series earlier in the spring, I've been on a re-reading kick. I just finished the Call To Power trilogy (by Timothy Zahn) and just started re-reading the Vampire Chronicles (Anne Rice). I'm about 300 pages into The Vampire Lestat

I loved that book, but I read it on my spare time. My school never assigns cool books to read. :P

As to what I am currently reading... not much at the moment! T___T
But that's only because I just finished a bunch of stuff. I'm thinking of reading Cardmaster by Clayton Emery. My Mom lent it to me a while back... It looks interesting so far! ^___^

These are for school-- but they're still pretty good:
Tender Is The Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley

These are for fun:
Lord Of The Flies by William Golding
The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera
The Color of Water by James McB- something. It's cut off because it's a ratty old book that I borrowed from a friend. Weathered books with the spine worn are the best books.

This one is also for school-- and it sucks:
A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn (damn APUSH)
