Try reading Christopher Moore's A Dirty Job. It's general fiction, but it's twistedly funny.. and has a few scary parts and some romance. Little bit of everything. I couldn't put it down when I started reading it.

I have been absolutely devouring books lately - I just finished Empire of Ivory - the fourth book in the Temeraire series by Naomi Novik; and I'm already almost done with Mississipi Jack, a Bloody Jack book by L.A. Meyer.
I'm not sure what will be next... probably Seeing Redd, the second book in the Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor, or maybe I'll start Jim Butcher's Dresden Files. I can't decide!

I just recently finished Valley of the Horses, which is the second book in Jean M. Auel's Clan of the Cavebear series.
Now I'm reading Naked in Death by J.D. Robb. A friend has been reading her books for years and swears by them. Since she and I have practically the same taste in books, I wanted to try them out. Of course I'm hooked and love the characters. It's set in the future, but the near future, and the main character is a woman cop who is investigating the murder of a licenced companion (prostituting is legal in their future). She is so sassy and funny, and such a joy to read.

Am currently reading "I am the Messenger" by Markus Zusak. I loved "The Book Thief" so had to pick this one up as well and it is quite good, touching! I'm hoping to finish by this morning sometime.

I'm reading for school - alternating between these three "fun" books:
Black and White Manhattan by Foote
The Perils of Prosperity: 1914-1932 by Leuchtenburg
and sections of Democracy in America by de Tocqueville.
I am looking forward to graduating in December so I can read fiction again!!

Right now, I'm reading too many books. I'm reading "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley, "Death of a Dark Lord" by Laurell K. Hamilton, "The Earth, My Butt, And Other Big Round Things" by Carolyn Macke, and I am also reading a story on fictionpress.net by Caleynder called Divinitas. It's really good, too. She deserves to be published.

Though I hope I do before the over due date! It's such a thick book, ^ o ^ but then again I read true story books pretty quickly.
