Promise of the Wolves by Dorothy Hearst. It's awesome. I waited as long time to read it, but it's great! Then again, I like books about talking wolves, so. And despite the billion characters, I'm having like, no trouble keeping them straight, which means their names and personalities are varied enough to be easily reognizable as someone or other.

I was reading Waiting for Sarah by I forget who, but then I told my mom I was reading it because someone told me it was the saddest book they ever read. That jerk took it from me. o_o And read it herself. Which is why I just started Promise of the Wolves instead. As a result of her stealing my book, her new nickname from me is Mutant Nasty. :P

I'm reading House of Leaves currently. It's creepy.

RE: William Gibson
His writing style was tough for me to get used to... but once you do it is just so good. Neuromancer was just awesome, although I think I liked Idoru and the related novels better.

Pretty simple and basic. Just name the book that you are reading. Stay to chat about the book if you all wish to.

I am reading Alice In Wonderland. I just finished Breaking Dawn. I will be reading Harry Potter 7, Battle Royale, The Chronicals of Vladmire Todd, Twilight again, and The rest of the Cirque Du Freak books. Oh and The Host.

Now it's your turn.

Pride and Prejudice is my very most favorite book!

I just love Jane Austen. Emma is a good book also.

Have you seen the A&E version of Pride and Prejudice?
Colin Firth as Darcy

Currently I am reading Moon Bound by Patricia Briggs. That is if I could find it...I was cleaning house and sorta lost it in the process.

I don't know what A&E stands for, but I haven't seen a physical version of it xD

But still, whilst I'm reading, I picture Colin Firth and Keira Knightley as Mr Darcy and Elizabeth ... which is kind of annoying because I like to picture my own characters. :P

I'm hoping to get Emma some day soon as well. ^^

Ursula K. LeGuin is a fantastic author... but it's a hard read. Most of her books are not what I'd call simplistic.

Right now I'm still on my Mercedes Lackey Valdemar series.
I'm up to Book 2 of the Mage Winds Trilogy: Winds of Change.

Currently I am reading the book, 'InkHeart', by 'Cornelia Funke'. It's a library book, so over the weekend I'm going to read it's pages off. :XD (Not literally, but I wanted something there. Hehe.) Also, after 'InkHeart' I'll be reading InkSpell, them, hopefully, the library will have 'InkDeath', Cornelia's third book of the InkWold series. I can't wait.
Oh, and for English class, I'm reading the novel 'Night' by 'Elie Wiesel'. I finished it, and it's quite saddening. If only I could cry.. but I can't.

Not so exciting... but I'm currently reading YOU on a Diet after hearing some interesting recommendations online. Plus deciding if it's worth telling customers about at the bookstore I work for. XD

I'm a 120 pages into it now and I really like it. I don't know...it's like they are complicated in disguise. The feel of the book is just like any other tale but then her style and ideas change things up. The world that she has created is really interesting and I'm looking forward to reading the rest in the series.
I had never even heard of LeGuin until last week when a friend on gaia recommended the series to me. I will have to thank her.

That assessment intrigues me. I hadn't picked up her books yet, simply because I believed them to be the traditional, easy-read paperback fare. I'm curious now. :)

Finishing up Dream's From My Father, this weekend. I'm also currently on the sixth book of Francine Pascal's (admittedly tween) Fearless series, which I love in large part for the serious femme power aspect. I'm also slated to read and finish Death of a Salesman for class, but there's really no telling if that will ever happen.

Right now I'm reading Strangers in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein. Then I'm moving on to The Host by Stephanie Meyer or Vanity Fair by William Makepeace Thackeray. : )

Undercover With Vampires in America Today, by Katherine Ramsland. It's okay. Although, I really want to instill most of the people she interviews with a basic knowledge of science.

Inkheart is a fabulous book, I just read it! I'm going to be reading Inkspell when I go to visit my cousins in Utah, in a few weeks, and you just reminded me to go put Inkdeath on hold at my library, so hopefully I will have that to read that as well! Night was an exellent book, but very, very sad. It will stay with me forever.

I myself am reading The Dark Mirror by Juliet Marillier. It's a wonderful book, but it feels... very long. o_o

Strangers in a Strange Land is a fantastic book. It's a scifi classic.

I cut my teeth on Heinlein... he had books for young kids, such as "Have Spacesuit will Travel", and "Podkayne from Mars".

But then unfortunately Heinlein turned into a dirty old man... most of his later books leave much to be desired. I think he went more for shock value rather than true science fiction.

Im currently reading, and highly recomend, Jennifer Government. Its a book about a futuristic world where everything is privatized (kind of the opposite of george orwells 1984.
Quote:
"Taxation has been abolished, the government has been privatized and employees take the surname of the company they work for. It's a brave new corporate world, but you dont want to be caught without a platinum credit card-as lowly Merchandising Officer Hack Nike is about to findout. trapped into building street cred for a new line of 2500$ sneakers by shooting customers, Hack draws the attention of a Ms. Jennifer Government. A stressed out corporate watchdog and government agent-"
It goes on but thats the gist of it. I REALLY recomend it.

I know what you mean. I love the way she writes though. It's very descriptive and just beautiful. People who want a face paced book won't find it in that, not that it's not interesting or plot driven. Her books take longer to read usually because of her attention to detail. I did find that the Bridei Chronicles were a little slower than the Sevenwaters series. If you haven't read Daughter of the Forest yet than you should. It's wonderful
