I like the book "The Knife of Never Letting Go".
Its dramatic and adventurous and really makes you think about things. Interprets the obvious oppositions and common communion of genders, but uses Southern slurs to add flare to the main character. Really good book, I recommend to anyone who finds it, as its new.
And if you do find it, look at the quote on the back, its really funny.

The back story for Cry Wolf can be found in On the Prowl.
Also, if you like Briggs, try Simon R. Green's Nightside series.

My absolute favorite book is The Stand by Stephen King. Stephen King is my favorite author and I really enjoy most of his books. I also really enjoy Sophie's World but I don't remember who it is by.

To be quite honest, I'm so sick of hearing Twilight this and Twilight that, that I'm just sick of hearing about vampires in general.
Maybe I'll get around to it whenever the Twilight hype has the courtesy to die down.

The Cique Du Freak series(All of them(I highly recommend you read them))
and Dr. Suess books!
Im more of a Fantasy/Horror person, If you would like to recommend a book for me please message me! I need a new book!
NOT TWILIGHT!! The book was good untill I saw the movie, Then I stopped reading the series because it was so bad.

Oh God twilight.... to be honest with you i have never finished reading the first book cause its just way to much mush.
She= needy psycho
He= Creepy Stalker
and that all i really got out of it.
I'm not a fan at all....
hell no.
I used to be a die hard vampire fan and stephanie mayer rape the genre. :(
But yeah once the hype has died down try Morgan ville vampires. there good. =3
If you're not up for full blown vamp-novals atm... (or not at all)
read Grey walker <3
Great book. I loved it.:squee:

It hasn't turned me off of Anne Rice at all, I'm just not reading any of the books right now.
But yeah!
I'm not going to hold my breath while waiting. I have a feeling it won't be anytime too soon.
In the meantime: don't tell me anything about Bone Crossed! I'm waiting until the paperback comes out, which won't be til next year sometime.

Sorry, I find it a smidge irksome that this is a thread about books and the thread title is grammatically incorrect!

I love Chekhov's plays, even performed in "The Cherry Orchard " as Madame Ranevsky. I haven't read but a few shorts, but I love "The Shooting Party," his novel.

I love the (inaccurately named) Hitchhiker's trilogy by Douglas Adams, as well as the Larry series by Janet Tashjian (The Gospel According To Larry, Vote For Larry, and Larry and the Meaning of Life). I have a lot of individual favorite books too, but the only ones I can think of off the top of my head are Walden (by Thoreau) and Little Brother (by Cory Doctorow). I might edit this post later to add more of my favorite books.

The best book ever is The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
it's narrated by death himself. I love the way he talks about the colors and the whole story it not just about a single character, well mostly it is, but you also get a sense of the other characters and everything seems so human not as glorified as other books... I don't know if that makes any sense but....

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak is good. It made me cry, so I kinda hate it too....
XD
The Artemis Fowl Series, all by Eoin Colfer and the Bartimaeus Trilogy, all by Johnathan Stroud are also good reads. :)
I mainly like reading fantasy and fictional stories.
