I'd have to say my favorite book of all times right now would have to be "Tsunami Blue" by Gayle Ann Williams. She puts an inside-out torn world in such a realistic and beautiful perspective, and she throws in some nutty characters, with clever twists. This combination is the perfect masterpiece and it's just her debut book. I can't stop reading it and I'm glued to every page.

I have several different favorites. :D
First, I have The Guardians of Ga'Hoole, so it's not so much a book as an entire series. They have completely epic, heart-warming language and I adore the characters. You get to know the real essence of a character, even if they only appear for a short time. Also, they surpass the typical expectations people may have for children's novels; they explore some very deep truths and are extremely thought-provoking.
The second favorite is The Tale of Despereaux. I'm a sucker for stories about small heroes, and Kate DiCamillo really captured that essence in this novel. Despereaux explores very deep emotions, just like Ga'Hoole does, not only in its main character but in all of them.
Breaking away from children's lit (which is my passion, really) I think my (current) favorite would be... The Mistress of Spices by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni. It reads like a modern fairy tale, and her language is simply rich. The way the author describes the simplest things can set such a beautiful image in your mind...

My absolute favourite book isn't actually a book. It's a play, but I feel it can apply here as I did in fact read it rather than see it. Anyway, my favourite book/play is written by Arthur Miller and is called 'The Crucible'.
I really enjoyed it as the content was always something that I was extremely interested anyway (The Salem Witch Hunts were probably the most shameful period in American history, I loved hearing the ins and outs of it all) but to see it come to life in an action packed play was just the icing on the cake.

PHANTOM OF THE OPERA...
But when I want something I don't have to think too hard about, I constantly pick up Scott Westerfeild's UGLIES series. I enjoy the read, but I don't spend all my time having to read between the lines. When I have a REALLY busy schedule, I can read the series because it's light enough to not interfere. I've probably read it through 5 times.

i like reading love novels, i like the suspense of wondering wether or not they are going to make it as a couple or if they are just going to throw it all away, and i really like the obsticles that some go through just to prove that they love each other and they arent going to throw their love away just becuz people dont want to see them together. and some of the novels i have read i feel like i can relate to in some way or another.
some of my favorite books are:
-Dave at Night
-Searching for David's heart
-and the chicken soup for the soul books, they have a lot of very touching stories.

I loved a Confederacy of Dunces -- very funny book that was extremely well done, although I lent to someone who absolutely hated it. :(
Dr. J and Mr. H was interesting as well -- it's darker than I usually like my stories, tho...but I loved what Alan Moore did with the character in the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen...

It was quite interesting, read the whole thing in one day. Very, very, few books have me do this xD
