Love in a Dead Language. It's a paean to the narrative concept of Lolita, done in the manner reminiscent of Exercises in Style, and couched in Classical Indian Scholar-ism. It is not PG-13.

Hmm... Way back when, I used to worship anything by James Patterson. I don't as much anymore but I still enjoy his books from time to time, and the first Maximum Ride book is one of my all time favorite books. I recently read The Lost Code by Kevin Emerson and really enjoyed it. I've loved everything I've read from Terry Trueman. One of my all time favorites is The Princess Bride, and I think that kind of speaks for itself. There was a book I read for school once called 'Freak the Mighty' and I really adored that book. It was one of the few books that made me teary-eyed at the end (Oh dear god at least it wasn't Of Mice and Men which had me sobbing at the end). XD I also really loved Wicked Lovely and Beastly. I think that there are more than that, but that's what I remember. XD

Well my favourite books would include such books witten by Patricia Cornwell, Faye Kellerman, Derek Landy, Paul Jennings and Jane Austen. My most favourite book of all time would be Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen, seems it is just a beautiful book!

My favourite book of all time is probably Clan of the Cave Bear by J. M. Auel. The whole series is good, but the first book is really where it's at. I first read it when I was about 13 and I sobbed my heart out!

Then I have a whole list of (mostly) children's and YA books that I still re-read from time to time:
Adrian Mole, The Mennyms, Famous Five, Pollyanna, etc. The book I've read most is Grasshopper Island. It found its way to my grandparents' house from the school library at some point during the early 1970s, so you can imagine the state it was in by the time I got hold of it. I read it every time I visited them, then rescued it from a clear out they were having years later. It's more sellotape than book by this point, but I can't part with it. :)

I really enjoyed reading Dracula by Bram Stoker and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.

I am currently looking for my copy of The Little Prince, as this was one of my favorite books back in the day, and I hear there is a really nice movie coming out based on this book soon! I would like to be able to re-read it before I watch the movie in the near future.

I love the pretty little liars series. If you've never heard of it,it is actually a TV series on ABC family as well.I believe that the books are better though. It centers around a clique of teen girls and the queen bee of their group who died under mysterious circumstances. The girls get mysterious texts from someone named A who blackmails them with their darkest secrets.Great series!

Pick one? I can't pick just only one!
So far as single novels go I adore these:
Lucia St. Clair Robson: Ride the Wind.
Margaret Mitchell: Gone With The Wind, and Alexandra Ripley: Scarlett

I really love to read so I tend to lean towards whole series.
I love all the tie ins between a lot of Stephen Kings books.
My fav of his is the collabs he done with Peter Straub, The Talisman, & Black House.
I love Anne Rice: The Vampire Chronicles and the spin offs of those.
David Eddings: The Belgariad series is a must.
JK Rowlings: Harry Potter series is a staple.
Christopher Pike: The Last Vampire. Thirst, and Chain Letter I grew up reading Pike.
V. C. Andrews: Petals in the Wind and it's connecting books.

Then we have ones that were gifts that got me into the series.
Lilian Jackson Braun: The Cat Who series. The first book gifted to me was The Cat Who Saw Red.
L.M. Montgomery: Anne of Green Gables series. The very first book was my gift.
Tim LaHaye & Jerry B. Jenkins: The Left Behind series. The full set, and hard back editions to boot even.
Not something I would've picked out for myself, but they were all well written and interesting concept wise.

My favorite book has always been Daughter of Venice by Donna Jo Napoli - I could read that book again and again and still love it every single time! I also enjoy all of Jane Austen's works and could do the same - reread until I died! Pride and Prejudice and Emma would have to be my absolute favorites though :3 I've also watched many film adaptations of Jane's work and some I adore, others I just want to chuck out a window. Certain movies I can watch over and over again though, kind of like the books - just depends on how the casting was done and how the directors worked with the script! :3

Narren7: I'm with you on Rowling, Andrews, Rice, and Montgomery! They're all brilliant! :D

I can't just pick one, I've read too many books to decide on just one or two lol. My favorites are probably Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice (made it hard to read other vampire books), Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry, The Wayfarer Redemption Trilogy and Hades Daughter by Sara Douglas, The Way of Shadows Trilogy by Brent Weeks (I keep rereading it, love it), Harry Potter, The Hobbit, and Flowers in the Attic by VC Andrews. There are a few others too but my mind is drawing a blank at the moment. Terry Goodkind is a good author too, I got halfway through the Sword of Truth books and ended up dropping them for something else. I liked Girl with the Dragon Tattoo as well but actually liked the movie versions better.

Edit// I forgot about Dune!! I looked over and saw it on my bookshelf. I bought the movie for it not too long ago. It wasn't the same :(

Emma Corrin: Which adaption was your favorite for Pride and Prejudice? I watched the one from 2005 and instantly crushed on Mr Darcy. Did you watch Death Comes to Pemberley? Its on Netflix and I ended up staying up ridiculously late to watch all of the episodes for it.

The 2005 version is my absolute favorite! Matthew Macfadyen is one of my favorite actors! First met him in the miniseries Pillars of the Earth - instantly fell in love! Another favorite is the '95 miniseries with Colin Firth - really enjoyed their version as well!

I haven't yet but it's on my que!! Is it that good? I've been afraid of it being done horribly and it ruining the book/movie for me! The 1999 Mansfield Park did that to me. That movie was horrible. The acting was good, but the narrating and pausing, looking out to space, then continuing again was just ridiculous. Just. No. I haven't watched the 2007 version yet but I'm considering it!

The 2005 version introduced me to the story and it ended up making me read the book for it. I haven't seen him in any other movies beyond that. I'm probably gonna end up watching that mini series now lol.

It wasn't as good as the movie was but it wasn't terrible either. I like what they did with the story though I was a little disappointed with how they portrayed Elizabeth. I felt like they could have done more with her than what they did. I watched Mansfield Park but I never read the book so I don't know how they compared. I wasn't a huge fan of it, it seemed like they could do a lot more with that as well

Seriously do - he plays a monk and it'd kind of about religion, but it's so good! I'm not very religious and so I don't like heavy religious things, and I enjoyed it so much :3

Oh funny!! I grew up reading Jane Austen so I've read most of her books! Emma is another favorite of mine - if you're to watch a movie on that book watch the one with Gwenyth Paltrow - such a good rendition of it!

Aw - that sometimes happens with the miniseries - I've had them be a little disappointing before. :( But then you find amazing ones like Little Dorrit that surpass even the movie so it's really hit and miss as to who they cast and how well they act! :3

Exactly. The movie was horrible - read the book and you should change your mind! It's a great story when told right! :3

Do they have it on Netflix or Hulu? I don't mind religious things but I'm not very religious either.

What is Emma about? Is she the one who played match maker or was that something else? I thought about reading Sense and Sensibility too but haven't had a chance to pick it up yet. That and I still haven't finished what I'm reading now.

I liked what they did with Mr Darcy, I think they chose a good actor for him and Wickham. I actually wish the actor who played Wickham in the miniseries was the one to play him in the movies. He was a lot more charming and attractive compared to his movie counterpart. He was a lot more believable and I could see how he could easily manipulate people whereas the movie version seemed more awkward in comparison. You should watch it for him if nothing else.

Haha okay, I'll add it to my list of books to read :) I want to read The Brothers Karamazov after IQ84 and other book I'm reading but I might push it back but an easier read. Have you read any of the Ender's Game books?
