^ That makes sense...kinda...=]
I just don't think it's right to compare 2 things when you haven't experience it for yourself yet..

sometimes its the feel of the thing?
When you start reading anything
you start to get the feel of the volume

you may not have finish reading it yet when you went to watch say the movie or the animation

and you get a different feel from the movie or animation
and you may not like it
thus you may conclude that hmm the original book form is better

hehe

I'm going to get murdered.

Lord of the ring. I couldn't finish it. I suffered through the first and second book and never found the courage to buy the third.

Bram Stoker's Dracula. I swear I tried. I went halfway through it (10 pages at a time, and then I fell asleep.)

I couldn't finish the Eldest, either ( second part for Eragon) .. I think it was the movie's fault .. It was so horrible I just can't get through it .. haha.

OMG, Shezzy~ Guh, the first book was so horrible to me x_x; I tried so hard trying to finish that book. I "succeeded" in finishing, but it failed to give me enjoyment lol. I just wanted to finish it because it had cost me money to buy that book XD; The "#1 Best Seller's List" thing tricked me, I swear.

I was planning on getting the second book, too, but decided against it after the first book. lol I didn't care if the characters ended up dead or not XD;;; Did you like the movie at least? I never watched it... Seems so OOH, PRETTY GRAPHICS, but since I know that I couldn't stand the book, I have no desire in wanting to watch it XD;

Simplixity 04-02-2007 09:53 PM

@neko79: I don't like you....you make sense..XD

The Hobbit, and A Tale of Two Cities. xD

I'm pretty good at making myself read boring books, but these two were something I just couldn't do.

I think I read a few pages of The Hobbit and just put the book down and refused to read it. xD This was back when I was 12 or something.

As for A Tale of Two Cities, I just couldn't read it.. I don't know. xD I like classics, but this one was too boring. I think I read a quarter into it and realised that I wasn't actually absorbing anything from the book. *__*

unfinished:
1. Da Vinci Code
2. Inferno (the whole commedia except Inferno)
3. Series of unfortunate events
4. Spiderwick Chronicles
5. Narnia

~Misread the question, EDITED

1.) Eragon

Marguerite Blakeney 04-04-2007 03:38 AM

Emma by Jane Austen. Seriously, I do pick up the book, TRY to read the first few pages but then it's really boring and I don't understand it at all, and the only thing I know is that the series "Clueless" was inspired by it.

I've had the dang book for 7 years and I never got through page 10. Anything else I just completely skimmed over.

Oh Anoni, the ending of A Tale of Two Cities was the best part! I really loved that story, though it was dry in several places. The tale itself was beautiful, though!

jazzkitteh 04-04-2007 04:26 AM

The star war episode 1 book by terry brooks u.u I love the mans fantacy books but when it comes to Sci Fi i'd rather watch a movie.

dbz2004 04-04-2007 04:32 AM

for me-any of the Lord of the Rings books. They are too long and too detailed for me. I nearly passed out when I started reading the books.

Aeva 04-05-2007 10:10 PM

I never finished the Lord of the Rings. I tried to read it, but I couldn't get through it.

The only book I wish I would've stopped reading is Totentanz by Al Sarrantonio.

Flying Wings 04-06-2007 02:08 AM

The Redwall Series. xP

[Kags] 04-06-2007 02:12 AM

So far Eldest, Queen of the Damned, the DragonLance series, Some Starwars Books... that's just about it XD

Classical 04-06-2007 06:17 AM

mmm all the books that i haven't been able to finish?
all my calculus made easy books :9
paradise lost (skipped through it)
a bunch of psychology books
that synopsis book about the lord of the rings, i read the trilogy, but when it came to that back it was sooo boring.
i might think of others, but i normally try to finish the books i'm reading or don't even start it o 3o

Winterwolfgoddess 04-06-2007 06:23 AM

Oh yes. As much as a book lover I have become, there are those infamous few I have yet to finish and I doubt I ever will.

Echo by Francesca Lia Block - I bought this one because it sounded interesting. I was looking at it for a couple of weeks, and finally said what the heck. I couldn't finish it and have had thoughts of burning it. I can't stand the book.

Kira-Kira by Cynthia Kadohata - My sister actually bought me this. The book isn't bad, it just didn't hold my attention.

Right now that is the only 2 I can think of, but I know there are atleast 3 more I have yet to finish. I just do not remember the names, which is just as bad :P

DragonsRage24 04-06-2007 01:47 PM

I couldn't finish The Pearl by John Steinback when we had to read it early in high school because I had read it two times before, but I have a horrible memory so I just went with what I could remember. So boring :x

Mariu 04-06-2007 08:17 PM

I have so many books I've started and not finished it's a tad ridiculous.

Interview With A Vampire- Anne Rice: Sad because I've seen more or less all of the movie and liked it. Plus I actually bothered to start reading it, but for some reason I'm still at page 10 or thereabouts. joyous...

Les Miserables (Volume 1)- Victor Hugo: I read the second one before the first and now I have no motivation to go back read it. More than likely it's because the book font is extremely tiny, so it's off putting.

Lord of the Rings Trilogy- J.R Tolkien: Compared to the hobbit this one just seems overly inflated with needless description. One day I will so I can finally get around to watching the stupid movie.

Eragon- Christopher Paolini: I hate the text in this book. I swear there's a good story in there, but when I read the book I feel the need to go through it with a red ink pen.

I can't think of any more. lol

Silence 04-06-2007 08:20 PM

The Illiad. This is probably the only book I've started and haven't been able to finish. I just couldn't take the endless speeches and descriptions that kept dragging on.

overDo 04-07-2007 04:13 AM

War and Peace.

Simplixity 04-08-2007 09:14 PM

I'm forcing my self to borrow Eldest and re-read it again. Perhaps this second time around I could actually finish it.
I recently borrowed Interview with the Vampire too, though my friends warned me it wasn't the best book by Anne Rice.
