Books I never finished? Let's see... there was this one book that my boyfriend lent me, called The Devil in the White City. Kinda dusty.
I know there have to be others, but I'm having a brain fart. X-P If I think of them later, I'll come post them. ^_^;

I can never finish Lord of The Rings books.
I try, but I guess they're just not fast paced enough for me.

I know a lot of people who have had that problem. But honestly, Tolkein isn't for everybody.

I too couldn't finish the Lord of the Rings series, I got to the second book and when you don't see Frodo for about 200 pages I was kinda like... yeah moving on to something new.
Also, Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series I got bored with quite fast. After the forth book I was annoyed it wasn't going at all well for the poor characters so I stopped reading it.

Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. I don't really know why I never finished it, maybe I should pick it back up some day... Also for some reason I could never finish the first book in the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton.

Ulysses and Unbearable Lightness of Being? I'm disappointed in you.
lol actually not really, I'm sorry. But I did like those books very much. Kundera is one of my favorite writers next to Burroughs and Kerouac.

ZOMG - Moby Dick is one of my favourite books ever! I had to read it last summer for AP literature and it quickly climbed to the top of my favourite books list :D It's so much fun to sit and analyze *dork*

Mister Monday from that series by Garth Nix. I've tried to read it twice and, really, I do like it, I just haven't been able to finish it ever.

His Dark Matterials Series
The Subtle Knife~ The first book (The Golden Compass) was okay... I became disinterested in the second book the first 10 pages. I don't want to read to books to get to a supposed awesome ending in the third book. ;___;

Les Miserables (unabridged) by Victor Hugo. We were assigned to read it during my freshman year of high school and I couldn't work my way through the entirety of it. I think I got to the part around the sewers before the test came up and I simply stopped reading. It might have been due to the severing of obligation.
The Count of Monte Cristo (also unabridged) by Alexandre Dumas is another one of those books that I set out reading with great intentions and put down never to pick back up again. It's currently mouldering in my bookshelf, the poor beastie. I'll have to make another attempt at reading it sometime this summer.
A more modern example would be The Dragon Prince by Melanie Rawn. I was actually at the very end of the novel before I threw it down in disgust and refused to ever pick it up again. If you've ever tried to read it, you should know why.
Finally is the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton. My friend gave me the entire set a few years back, and I read up to The Circus of the Damned before the focus on sex drove me away.

The Other Side Of The Mountain.
This book is like what...150pages? It's really short and small, yet I couldn't even get past chapter 3.
It was just damn bloody boring and repetititve. Nothing exciting happened. I even flicked through the whole book and found nothing. So yeah, now its just sitting there in the bookshelf rotting away.
edit: ooh since lots have mentioned it, Lord of the Rings. Honestly, I couldn't get passed the first paragraph. I read thee same thing over and over again for 30minutes and nothing processed in my head.

Usually if I don't finish a book it is because I am really busy and I get distracted (or need to return it to the library) before I finish. I rarely put a book down because I don't like it.
Wicked, was an exception, though. The play was so smegging fantastic, that I went out and got the book. The beginning was not promising, but I kept going because of my love for the play. The middle was terrible, and I stopped after reading 3/4 of the book. That book was nothing like the play, and it puts a stain on the name of literature.

I only have a few xD
Lord Of The Flies -- Just didn't like the concept, really, really weird book.
Great Expectations -- I was supposedly forced to read for school work, but I never finished it, and skipped a few bits to the end so I could get it over with.
I also never finished The Abhorsen Series, it sitting on my shelf waiting for me to read it, or try to read it again.
I can't believe lots of people didn't finish Lord of the Rings, it's my all time favourite trilogy, and I love the movies also. x) I enjoyed the Hobbit, but I prefer LotR as it has more going for it.
I'm not so hooked on Harry Potter, I have to admit I hadn't read the first book till after the others, as we could never find it in the book stores. Dx I enjoyed the series, and I thought it was okay, but it was nothing great. I by far prefer the movies, as some of the books are very slow moving. ^^;

I have a bad habit of only reading half of the Arthurian stuff I pick up. I read half of The Mists of Avalon, and half of The Once and Future King, and quite a few others. I get to the part where everyone is happy in Camelot, and stop reading. I just want the happy ending, so...yeah.
