I'm not sure how many because I can normally read a book completely through.
But, recently there were two I couldn't finish.
- "New Moon", I got through "Twilight" just fine but I started reading this and could get passed the first chapter (I was laughing too hard)

- "Founding Brother", It's not that it's a bad book, it has GREAT information in it. It was just boring.

There are many, but some are:

Kiss & Blog by Alyson Noel - I just ugh, couldn't. --Snnooreee-.
The Luxe Series by Anna Godberson -superBORING-
Gallagher Girls Series by Ally Carter -myGODBORING-
..
SO many more but I don't remember.

I usually tend not to finish a lot of Dean Koontz novels. I don't know why, but every time I start a new one, I never get to the ending because I'll buy another one and start that one. XD So it eventually becomes an endless cycle of reading and stopping. =__=;

The only book i have not been able to bring myself to finish no matter how many times i try is the book called 'Wicked'. It is suppost to be the other side of the wizard of oz. How it all started and how the wicked witch of the west got her name and such.

Fixed With Duct Tape 08-01-2009 02:20 PM

The only one I can remember was named Princess Ben. Totally over wordy.

I try my hardest to read all the books that I can, but there's been only two that I haven't been able to get through:

Call of the Wild - Jack London.
& A Tale of Two Cities - Charles Dickens. -shudder- That was horrible.

But besides that, I haven't really had trouble.

Oscar the Wild 08-01-2009 09:02 PM

The Waste Land by T.S. Eliot.

kanoocha 08-02-2009 01:20 AM

The only book I ever remember not being able to finish was Inkspell. I don't really remember why I never got to finish it but I don't think I was reall all that far in the book either. Oh and there was that other book I think it was called The cell or Cell I don't remember but it's one of Stephen King's books it was very confusing for me so I just gave up on that one.

Well, I couldn't finish The Alchemist by Michael Scott... I'm really sure why. I guess it was because I was more interested in the other book I was reading at the time. I guess it started to bore me. I was on chapter 27 too. Another I couldn't finish was The Chain Letter by Julie Shumacher. That one was just pretty boring. It's still sitting up in my room waiting for me to pick it back up again : P I don't really want to read it though DX It was boring... Oh then there's the Twilight Saga. I HATE THAT SERIES! No offense to the people who like it but stephanie meyer just took things from other books that people liked. And vampires that sparkle?! COME ON! Vampires are supposed to be feared! Not sparkle and fall in love with idiot 17 year old girls!!! DX

I tried to read Ulysses by James Joyce too. We were supposed to read a book for class and I chose it... The teacher came up to me and said that the book were really difficult to read... And I was like: I'll manage! ... After a week I had to ask her if I could change my book... It was too strange :P

Other books are:
- Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
- David Copperfiend by Charles Dickens
I have no idea why I couldn't finish those.. I guess I wasn't in a reading mood at the moment or something.

I bought a Star Trek book about Dr. McCoy, and I keep forgetting to read it. I might just have to start over, I can't really remember what was happening. I never finished reading "Dracula", either, because I had a lot of work to do at school at the time and just kind of stopped reading it. This happens a lot to me, it's very, VERY inconvenient.

Kat Dakuu 08-04-2009 07:37 PM

I tried to read the second Pendragon book becuase my freind really loved that series, but I was just so busy with school and other books that I never read past the first chapter!

fiarra 08-05-2009 01:51 AM

>.>;; Everytime I try to read The Silmarillion... I can't get past the first few pages. I have tried SO MANY TIME. But alas.

I also still haven't finished Good Omens. =| Everyone I know thinks it's the ~best thing ever... and I just don't get why.

Knerd 08-05-2009 01:55 AM

But the Silmarillion is so good!

Haha, but I agree that it's an acquired taste. You have to really want to read it.

fiarra 08-05-2009 02:02 AM

Everyone who has finished it is like, omg read it!!! But.. the first few pages are just... I dunno.

Someday I will.

Laynnie 08-05-2009 02:41 AM

Nolori 08-06-2009 08:45 PM

I didn't finish The House of Seven Gables by Nathaniel Hawthorn. I couldn't undestand what Hawthorn was trying to get at. Granted I was in seventh grade when I attempted it, so I'm hoping I can get another go at it soon. I just have no idea where it went.
Huh.

The other was Les Miserables. I stopped because of a few years back finals and forgot where I was, so I need to try again.

Kuro-chan 08-07-2009 03:06 PM

ANYTHING by Kathy Reichs. I love the Bones series, I really do, but trying to read her books.....UNGH. I don't like books where I have to constantly reach for a science dictionary. Or rather, find one.

Animizu 08-07-2009 04:27 PM

I could never finish second and other parts of Anne Rice's book series "Interview with a vampire". It was just too boring for me! I couldn't finish Jasper Fforde's book "Thursday Next and the Well of Lost Books".
I must admit, I haven't read whole last book of Harry Potter's adventures. I skipped it in middle and read the last pages.
The other book I wanted to read but I was not able to finish was Amy Tan's "Rescuing fish from drowning". It started well, but after like 30 pages I fell asleep and never came back to read the rest.

Toxic Fragrance 08-07-2009 06:55 PM

I couldnt finish:
Graceling-I accually really love this book but towards the end it started to get so bad that i could bare to finish it.
Evermore- This book was pretty interesting but it started to go downhill fast

sadieluna 08-07-2009 06:58 PM

I could never finish Sophie's World... Maybe coz I was eleven when I started it...

eCrink 08-08-2009 01:29 AM

The Pelican Brief, by John Grisham.
It has a great premise, but it keeps going ON, AND ON.
I managed to get to around page 300 before putting the book down and saying "Screw this."

Ive started this book so many times. It's ver long and it gets dense at parts so it's tough to get through. Someday I will finish..

21st Century Breakdown 08-08-2009 02:03 PM

Two books I could never finish.

Twilight, I think we all know the reason for that.

Frankenstein, I read the first third of the book and had no clue what was going on.
