I read part of Dante's Inferno in my English class this year. We read the part when Dante went into hell with...why can't I remember his name? The man that was his guide, can't remember. Anyway, was very interesting though the rhyme schemes in some areas were very strange, but then again, for the time it was written in, its awesome. I loved creative stories better then other factual stories, so reading part of Dante's Inferno was very nice.

Was his name Virgil? >>;

I loved the 9 levels of hell, how they were portrayed, very nice. ^^

Yep, you're right, the guide's name was Virgil. Virgil guides Dante through both Hell and Purgatory until they reach the gates of heaven, then Dante's guide is Beatrice.

Ah, Dante's Inferno. I've been meaning to read it, but with the lack of time and ability to concentrate I still haven't read it. I bought a copy for myself that has both the Italian version and the English translation, just to make sure I didn't lose any of the original meaning during translation. For those who don't know what this is, you should definitely look into it. :)

I originally had to read Dante's Inferno for school...though didn't know it until I'd read the entire Divine Comedy...

It was interesting to read the abridged version of Dante's Inferno because it left...a lot of things out.
