Yea, I know what you mean. I've got a huge list of books needed for school and then the books for my pleasure. For me, I kinda pushed Angels and Demons to the top of the list. If you ever find the time to read it, I'll gurantee that it'll be worth your time.

In my opinion, the book was great. Dan had detail and a twisted story, that really told the true meaning of the treasure. Truth be told, he confused me a little from time to time but overall I LOVE IT!! I haven't read any of the other books yet, but I have a feeling it's his masterpiece, even being made into a movie

Btw, any ideas on what book I should read next by him?

I built up a very large hatred for the book just because I found it so overrated. But, in a now totally unbiased opinion, I found the story intriguing. However, the book itself was horribly written. David Brown is an artless writer. The dialogue was trite. The characters were cardboard cut-outs with typical personality. (ie. handsome, "charming," intelligent professor; "witty," independent, beautiful French girl.) Etc etc etc. I can ramble on but anyways.

Still, the plot was pretty gripping.

I liked angels and demons better.
But The DaVinci Code was still really good plot wise. There was still room for improvement. But that can be said about most anything ^^
I throughly enjoyed the book because murder, action, mystery and puzzles are just exciting like that. ^___^

I loved how they had to keep on the run all the time, and then they get off scot free because of Langdon's friend was behind most of the crime. Haha, I love that XP

I also liked TDC the most, although some people might find it slow and might like Angels and Demons more because there is more action in that one.

But yeah, TDC ftw.

*whew* Almost finished with Angels and Demons. 600/700 pages. XD

It seemed like the entire book was the climax...so it was impossible to put it down. I can't believe how many plot twists there were, and who really turned out to be the bad guys.

Anyone else noticed that Robert always end up with the female heroine in the story? o.0

I think I'm a part of a minority on this, but I didn't like the book AT ALL. It seemed like it took me forever to read it, but I just couldn't get interested in it. Same goes with the movie.... the only reason I rented it was just because it was a new movie, but I didn't think there was anything great about it. Could be just because I don't believe any of it, I don't know... just wasn't my cup of tea.

^ Was it the plot you didn't like, or the writing style, or just the overall effect?

I think it was just all of it. I had heard so much about it being such a great book, and everyone hyped it up so much, and then when I started reading it, I couldn't get interested in it. I guess it didn't help that I just don't believe in that whole theory that the book was proposing.

really? D:

I LOVED that book, though being a strong catholic, a lot of the ideas he presented as "facts" was a bit, eh. D:
but that aside, I really did enjoy the book :3
though I actually preferred angel and demons more :3nod:

as well as his other books~

i hated the movie though D:
wasn't up to par with the book, big disappointment to me ):
though I do suppose it would've been tough to match everything and such~

@Deniece: I do get what you're trying to say. The entire proposal seemed far fetched. But then again, most of the historical things are facts. As for the people who kept saying how awsome it was, half of them never read it and just wanted to be cool, the other half watched the movie..

Though I guess this kind of thing just isn't your cup of tea. I personally like a fun adventure filled with historic fiction and action.

Yes, I agree with you full 10 on that. Sure, the movie was good, but the book was 10 times better. :D

It's just weird though..I mean he's like 40 something and the women he gets together with is half his age.

I hate that book! It made me sick within the few chapters. And I can't believe the author makes his book sound more like a Bible. -_-

Umm...how does the author make the book sound like the Bible?

Besides, was it the story that made you sick 'cuz it was poorly written was it the gory plot that make you sick? At least make a good point before saying you hate a book...

  • Lots of my friends are reading, The Da Vinci Code too, and I hear its really good. They bought the book and everything, and I see them reading it sometimes. I was going to buy it one day, but decided to buy manga instead. xDD

But today, I might go and get it, since I'll be going to the mall. I really want to read it though. It seems very interesting. :]

The Da Vinci code was an excellent read. :3

I've read it, along with every other book written by Dan Brown. He's an excellent author.
