When I was younger and lived in the country my favorite place to read was out on the front porch. We had a nice-sized wooden porch swing and I would go out and read for hours during the summer; it was awesome.
Now, I prefer to read in the tub (I have a bad back and must take epsom-salt baths u_u). Otherwise, I wont sit still long enough to read. >_>;;; |
I think my favorite place to read is on the couch. I can curl up and lean against the arm and just concentrate on the book. However, if I am reading something on my computer, than I prefer to read in my desk chair only because it gets a little uncomfortable to read on the couch with my computer.

My favorite place to read is on my bed snuggled in a blanket, with a book in my hands. With no one bothering me,until my li'l bro comes asking me to do something for him.
|
My room at night to no one bother while I'm reading. I don't liek to be interrupt while I'm reading. It completly ruins the moment when I'm reading a supsense and almost finfing something cool to make me think during the next day until I go read more xD
|
my room most likely. there aren't too many people around to bother, and its always nice and quiet. whenever there are too many people around, or there's tons of noise in the background, i really find it hard to concentrate and enjoy what i'm reading.

Well when I read I love to read outside!
It's so relaxing. I like feeling the air and smelling everything. If I can't read outside though, I live in Oregon and it rains a lot..., I read inside on the couch, curled up in a corner of the bed. |
i love the weather in oregon, and its so peaceful =] that'd be a great place to read.
|
In bed! but not at night cos I always fall asleep with the book. If I having a lazy day off work or on the wekend sometimes, I cant read on transport like the bus for long, I start to feel really sick.
oooor sometimes if it's a nice day I'll sit on the bench outside. It has to be quiet tho, wherever I read. Otherwise I find myself reading the same paragraph over and over because I get distracted. |
Haha, Cherry, you sound just like my sister, she can't read in cars or if it's not really quite either!
I don't really like to read outside, just because... --' Well, I don't really like the outside, plus I live in a place where the weather almost always is at extreme conditions. But, I really don't have a favorite place to read either. I guess, I'd have to say any place where it's quiet or there aren't any people around. I don't like to read when other people are nearby, unless it's at a library. But I still do, I read whenever and wherever I can, still, like I said, my fav is when I'm alone. |
I like to sit somewhere comfortable, often on my bed with my back against the wall and my knees up in front of my chest. I make sure the room is well lit, nice and quiet, and I rest the book on my knees and read for hours. x]
I can't hold a book up like in the car or anything like that because I'm a little weak, so I definitely have to be sitting somewhere comfortable I can rest against or else rest the book against my knee in general, so yeah, I usually read at home in general. :o |

I would have to say in my bedroom or during class. I love reading during class because it's the only place where it's actually quiet.

I like to read in the bathroom. Or in my room.

That's interesting. The part of Missouri that I lived in rained quite a bit during the summer months.
And the weather in Illinois is rather persnickety and changes during the day. I love to read curled up in a pile of pillows in the corner of my bed, with music playing. I've found it to be so relaxing that I've been known to nod off with a book in my hands. |
@aki-bara: I read during work time. I'm still stuck in high school. I do it mostly during AP Stats since none of my other classes have work time.
|
More often than not I’ll read in bed, curled up in a blanket. I do like reading outside in the summer time though, especially in a park. I also like sitting out on the porch when it’s raining out. It just makes the experience much more soothing being able to listen and smell the rain. ^^ |
@Aisha: Ohh yes!~ I love reading when it's raining, especially by an open window, the pitter patter is so soothing and the smell of the rain.. ~^^~ Is there a better smell?
@Delilah: Oh, I see. Haha, thats what I do know too, I used to read during class, untill I got a C in spanish in 8th grade cause of it >,<! Oh, well, I learned my lesson. @Skrae: Yeah, the weather here is pretty... formidable. The way you describe reading in bed sounds so comfy! I've never fallen asleep with a book in my hands, but I can see myself doing just that if I were to read sorrounded by fluffy pillows and warm blankets while listwning to some nice relaxing music! ~^^~ |
I've always enjoyed reading in high places. Out on the roof was great I was a teen at my mom's house. I've gone for trees before too. But now that I'm old and paranoid about neighbors gossiping I keep it to the bathroom. I love soaking in the tub and reading. Inflatable pillow to rest on, a bunch of candles illuminating the room...It's a little piece of heaven.
|
Nissa, if I ever did that, I'd be so paranoid about getting the book wet! >< Plus, I hate talking baths, tey gross me out
|
on a bus when its stuck in trafic.
to tell the truth its actually a nice calm place to read if its not too packed. you cant get anywere fast so you may as well make the most of your time and have a read. |

My favorite place to read is either in the school library, because the librarians don't disturb me,a nd the6y know me, plus they have comfy chairs. It's mostly quiet except for when they other grades have lunch. And also I love reading in my room, because I can turn my music on low and just read, and stop when I want to nobody to tell me to keep reading or stop and get out my notebook. So yeah I really do love to read also in classrooms because is anyone talks the teacher yells at them and then it's a lot more quiet so I can read and zone a lot easier.
