Cirque Du Freak is my favorite book series. It's about vampires and a freak side show and all kinds of weird things. I was wondering if any of you guys have read these books and if so what you think of them?

I don't like them, but that's just me.
I don't like wierd things like that
I've heard lots of people like it and it's pretty popular though

I've read a few of the books. They're not bad, but I kind of lost interest in them. They're awfully predictable.

I have read the first 6 and they were pretty good. I have 7, 8, and 9 but I haven't read them yet. I do intend to finish the series though.

I really enjoyed the first book, but the second one seemed kind of boring to me, so I stopped reading them. I loved some of the concepts, though. And I liked the style of writing in relation to the genre. Good stuff.

I found the first one in a book store, I started reading it and I liked it very much. Though my short attention span made me put the book down and read other things, but one day I will finish it. It's very good so far, lol.

I own the whole series and have read them all! I thought they were great books! Give me Darren Shan over Harry Potter any day. I thought the ending kinda sucked though. I mean.. I was expecting something else.

I love the series. I keep trying to convince my mom and little sister to read it, but my little sisters like "ew, those kinda books suck!" and mom is like "Hmm. interesting. -wanders off to the romance section of the library-"

I've read the entire series besides the last one and I'm currently desperately searching for it. The library and bookstores aren't cooperating.

Ah, I've been reading this for years xD I forgot where I left off, because school's been catching up with me. Alas, my early years of freedom are gone.

I liked it though--I've been thinking about rereading all of them this summer, and perhaps I will. Vampires are my sort of thing.

One of my favorite series, I really enjoy the books. I'm not done the series though, I'm only on book 8. My favorite character is Darren.

I kinda lost touch with it due to I got lost/rushed on the seventh book. *sighs* I like the concepts that I did get to read, though parts of it just made me almost toss the book away from me just due to the sheer sadness at times, mainly when you get to those chapters where it is nothing but sadness.

I have read the first one, I can't seem to find the second one at the library. I will have to eventually get it transfered from a different library once I have time to read it after reading the other books I have checked out. LoL. But it is on my really long list of books to read eventually.

The ambiance of the stories were lovely. I loved how morbidly strange it was... but it never really broke out of typical for me. I read two. I like to look back at them, but I wouldn't read them again.

*swoons* OMG, I love this series! Darren! I can't wait for the movie to come out either. I'm still trying to figure out if they are going to mesh the entire series into one movie or not.

I read the series in the spring of my senior year on the advice of a friend. She had continually told me how great it was and that she wanted me to read it, but she didn't have the first book. So, I went out and bought the book on a whim and feel in love.

My only problem was the ending. I cried my eyes out for poor Darren (then again, I'm overly emotional and I'll cry at the end of books that, yanno.. aren't sad). I was wondering how he was going to end it, because the way the books were going, there wasn't much of a choice of what had to happen.

Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed the series, enough so that I am currently buying my own set. =3 Yay! Darren!

I prefer Demonata. Ha, I just made a topic about Darren Shan without seeing this one.

It's going to be the first three in one. You should see the actor that plays Mr. Tiny, he's perfect!

Yay! However, I don't see John C. Riley as Mr. Crepsley... That decision was.. not very good in my opinion.

I agree. Personally, Vancha and Mr. Crepsly are my favorite.

Oh, and that evil trick in the 9th? I felt like traveling to Ireland and kill Mr. Shan.

I adore those books, they are my Favourite series ever.
I've also met Darren shan, and had the First three of the series signed.
I've also been keeping up with the new Demonata series, whcih isn't quite as good, but is defintitly growing on me.

They are going to be making a movie on the cirque du Freak series, but annoyingly they are going to be making it in the U.S, and the thing is throughout the whole series he hints at the places being In the Uk, and that is going to drive me Insane.

they had better do it Justice.
or I am going to be severely mad >.<

Oh I read the first and second of the series. XD I'm always one for vampire novels, even when they're for juniors and I'm like... an adult. But anyways I thought it was a pretty fun read, it went at a pretty good pace for action and the ideas were great. I should try to get back to it... but unfortunately I'm out of the country and this series isn't really famous enough to be imported all the way out here.
