I'm writing a mystery/adventure/romance book, painful slowly I might add. It's a futuristic book and deals subtly with the issues of our world and how they end up affecting the people in the future. I feel like we need a book that still has the quality of fantasy, which is that it takes you away from this world, and also brings up issues that need to be brought up. One of the main conflicts in the book is whether or not it's alright to artificially create human life and change a human to the point that it's not a person anymore. And if that creation isn't satisfactory, is it alright to exterminate it? Another big conflict is prejudice. It all makes for lots of drama to work with.
The one problem I have with writing is that my idea changes from day to day. I thought up this book when I was 12 and it's gone through countless rebuildings of plot, characters, settings, back stories, events, etc. I'm a procrastinator anyway and if I do get the story written down, by the time I come back to it I have to erase it and replace it with a new idea. I know that if I sat down and just started typing I could do it, however. |
If I were to write a book...
It would be something fantasy, sci-fi, or just a bit off the wall. I'm not a big fan of reality, so you could probably see my little dream world that I've been stuck in since I was little poke through in the words. I can't write many real things. It would probably take place in another world, demension, or time. I'm not a big fan of the here and now. I don't find it very interesting. Anyways, there would probably be adventure, romance, and hopefully humor. I need to work on humor. I also need to work on actually finishing what I start though too! |
I actually am writing a book. Well, actually more than one. And uh... my favorite ones would take a LONG time to explain.
I mostly write fantasy. Not that "high fantasy" stuff with elves and all that junk, but modern, dark, supernatural... all things I've worked with. I guess I like being able to make up the rules. ^^ I've also worked with some realistic fiction and alternate world, but I don't do it nearly as often. |
It would be about ummm i dunno a maid and a prince who fall in love with each other.
|
I've tried to write novels before, and they never seemed to go all that well. I loss interest in them to easy, hence they take to much time to write. >.>
If I had to write a book, they would be a bunch of short stories -mostly horror- in one binding, unless I can actually get rolling with something, but that would be a joke. :sarcasm: So, yeah a book of horror short stories. |
I came up with a story while I started to think about the design of this avatar. I don't know why, but I'd like to see myself write a book about a rags to riches story about a little corpse girl. XD And that's just my mind being disturbing, but I really like the idea. |
I'd porobably write a fantasy book, I have some ideas brewing. I'm nopt gonna say what it;'s aobut incase it's mega awesome and someone steals it. xD And I think opne day i;d get round to writing some books, I plan on writing in my spare time and seeing where it'd take me.

I've been trying to write books since the sixth grade, I think. xD Maybe before that, hard to say.
All of my stories are fantasy related. My first attempt was a bit of a sword & sorcery fantasy, with an entire world created for it. I actually have an excellent idea of how the world works, so I keep that in the back of my head, even though the story has long ago died. At the moment I've got two books going on, though I haven't written in either of them for a while- too much schoolwork does that to a person. One is a dark fantasy concerned with prejudice against half-breeded beings that are mixes of various species. The main character's half-demon, if you get my drift. I don't have enough of a plot for this one, though, so I'm re-thinking it at the moment. The second story is way more plotted out, and actually has a chance of getting finished someday. It's based in that world that I created for my first book, though in a different part of it and the focus really isn't on the world so much that a person comes to that world from a different one (haven't decided if he's from ours or not). So yeah, I pretty much write only fantasy/fiction. Even more short stories involve some sort of fantasy, even if they might not appear to be at first. |
It would have to be fantasy.
Because everyone knows deep down inside, reality sucks. I would like to have characters with depth, so if they died or something, the readers would get emotional. Just NO romance. Gahhh....too many of those these days....... |
I don't think I'm cut out for writing a book, maybe a short story, but books are way out of my writing capability.
I don't know what I'd write about if for some bizarre reason, I was given the opportunity to write a story. ...D: |
This question is easy for me, actually. My favorite thing about writing and storytelling is character development. I love dynamics of relationships and then hypothesizing what a character would do next and why. I'd probably write a drama sort of type of book then. It may even be an anthology but the sort where... The same characters are in all of the books but a small tweak to their personality has been made by way of say... occupation, history, or goals. Something as small as any of those examples is enough to produce a brand new story!
I have characters already created, and I'm in love with them. :) Of course, when I say love I don't mean I've created perfect characters. I think it's their imperfections that I love the most. :D |
Fiction. <3
Well..I have this character Mr. Martin.. The story is about freedom and trust. Mr. Martin, is the story of an elderly man who refuses to give up his independence. Although he is both blind and nearly deaf, Martin likes to think of himself as he was many years ago-sailing the sea with a tune~ For his age, Mr. Martin is quite lively. He's always seen wearing a worn, brown hat, and carrying a cane he's carved himself. The story takes place on a small island -somewhere I haven't put yet- There's a mystery about the place, and Mr. Martin seems to be the only one who knows what happened many years ago. Dubbed the nickname; crazy-man Martin -by most the town-, he's quite the story teller, making anything seem like it really happened. With a love of storms, and a habit of talking to gulls, Mr. Martin sure is an interesting fellow, who constantly has his daughter -a teacher- on her toes. :3 Well, that's all for now..I hope to post it someday, if only a little. I am told I have a way with descriptions..they consume my writings. lol Last time I actually finished something was about 15..or 16 years old, a few things I used to have posted elsewhere. I'd have to say my favorite of these was Lone Wolf-a long bit where I took words such as hope and trust, and told of them through the mind of a lost-soul. ..and one my teachers seemed to like Island of Dreams, is about 4 pages on my alternate world..a place of eternal peace. <3 |
I've had several passing ideas for books in my mind over the years.
I wanted to write a horror series based on my character, called Deady until I can think of a better name for her. She's a terrible shapeshifting monster that likes to eat children. I've also always wanted to write an autobiography. And more recently, I want to write about my character, Eirwyn, that I roleplay. It'll be sad to have to change her history to make it fit for publishing. I wonder how far I'll have to go in altering it. Because she started as a roleplay character, I'd have to get a lot of permission from the people I RPed with to use their characters in my book and made up a part of her history. But all the same, it would be really fun to write her general story- of a girl who was orphaned, and almost became a lot of things (ninja, nun, warrior, apothecary) before she finally settled on "wizard" and later became a lich. I also really want to write a book on philosophy, or self-help, or psychology. I was thinking about writing a book series that would introduce the general layman to psychology and ease him into it. So many people out there disregard psychology and any form of self-introspection whatsoever and live their lives destructively and recklessly, so I wanted to write a book that would somehow get through their mental defenses to get them to see the light. Futile, perhaps, and possibly immoral... but it's what I dream of. |
I have tried to write many books (I just can't seem to concentrate on them for long)
But it would probably be a mix between a Fantasy, a horror and a syrrealistical book. And it would probably be a female main character.... who had to save something from someone/something. But I am not sure if it would be a typical "Happily Ever After" |
Hmmm... actually, I've been trying to start one for a long time about a mad scientist school...
*sigh* I've finally typed up the first chappie... I hope noone steals my idea. |
I'm working on planning out two right now, one of them I just thought of and only have one character and now trying to figure out how to work the rest of the story. This one would be about vampires, even though how one becomes a vampire is by getting a mutated form of rabies.
Then there is a steam punk story were I have one major back story planned I know a few points of the story, but I just don't know how it is that I would get to said point. >< I'm trying to see if I can use the first one in my creative writing class rather then a prompt. |

I would base it on my OCs. ^^ That is what I am doing.
Edit- lol I forgot I already posted here. ^^; |
I would most likely write a fantasy or sci-fi book. Because I love to read them. =D
What would it be about? Hrm... Well I have ideas in my head buuuut. You don't get to hear them. If I ever get around to writing a crappy story I dun wanna find out that you stole my ideas! =P JK but, yeah. My stories run through my head and only my head. No one else ever hears about them. It's a self-esteem issue... I might write them someday. Once I get my life sorted out and headed down the track I like. |
I am actually trying to write a fantasy novel, at the moment. It is about the rivalry of Man and Elf in the struggle of dominance and survival in the new land of Ramnas. The main protagonist is a prophesied saving being for the Elves who is cast into her role far earlier than prophesy intended. Her colony is killed and she convinces herself that she is the blame, has some childhood angst, and vows to hate Man--the beings who killed her family--for the remainder of her days. It goes on of her developing herself to overcome her fears of actually facing up to her role and becoming that prophesied being.
Unfortunately enough, I tried to convince myself that I would start writing on it again this past summer, but I never opened it up; not once! Now school has started and I'm just getting the urge to start up on it again, but now I have no time. |
Were I ever to sit down and actually muster up the patience to hammer a real full novel out, I would definitely go for one of those pulpy golden age science fiction tales. I don't have anything in terms of a plot for it, really-- I'd just use the setting and see what goes of it. It shall be a dashing tale of a young brilliant pilot, his lovely assistant, in a time where ray guns are prevalent, with copper-plated rockets streaming towards the lunar colony, where Mars seems to be a planet just within mankind's reach. Romance! Drama! Green men from Mars! Nefarious monsters from Venus! Ahhhh, yes.
Of course, in the more sensible range of things I'd probably try my hand at some Star Wars short stories. Again, I never have much in the way of a plot, other than I'd like to try something empire-focused, because the Rebellion is lame. I know it'd be fun to write, at least. |

2. A girl who falls in love with a guy who is unattainable and happens to be her best friend. but the twist is that he is unattainable because he is gay. and the story would tell of all the experiances the two have had together and the heartache that the girl endures inside. i kinda already have. It is based on a true story. |
I do like to write, but I don't think I would ever publish. Right now I'm finishing up a sci-fi(ish) book that I wrote, its about a character (or two) that i've had floating around in my head for a while, so its good to have them down on paper with a solid story. I think the story needs a sequel though, it like, begs for it. (Even though only the family will read it. *failfail*)
I want to try to do the sequel this year, but at the same time i'm really burned out, and there's so much stuff to do to get ready for college. *stupid applications* Maybe next semester I would get around to it? |
Well I have written a lot, if I were to write something to publish rather than just posting it online it'd be sci-fi or fantasy but I have quite a few ideas I could develop.
|
I'm actually working on a book right now. It's kind of a long story but in short it's set in an alternate universe and chronicles a three sided battle between a fallen seraph named Atrox, the realm of the Kami, and an organization named Cruxis.
The main characters are a trio of friends - one is the Kerberous of Gehenna ( Atrox's daughter and the only one capable of letting him into the God-realm), A wizard from a prominent shapeshifting family named James ( real name Gunther Vizsla ), and the grandson of Cruxis' leader Tatsurou. It would be really difficult to summarize it like that - it gets so complicated but that's the very very bare explanation. |
