Anyone read Paranormal Romance Novels? I do and I have a small collection building. I been a fan of the genre for a little while and it has influenced me greatly in how I write. People make assumptions that Romance novels are brainless reads but like any genre it depends on what you read. In fact the ones I read have much of a story to tell and bring in mythology and history together. The Dark Hunter series by Kenyon is heavily about the Greek Gods and about the Daimon who are "Vampire" like creatures cursed by Apollo. At one time they were known as The Apolites (which I could be spelling them wrong), but a few of them turned against Apollo and killed his mistress and children. So he cursed them and on their 27th birthday they will perish unless the drink the blood of humans and take their souls... So since Apollo is of the sun, they can't walk in day.

So Artemis created the Dark Hunters, who are humans or immortals that died and have come back to be Artemis's servants. They kill Daimon but can not be out in the day light. They are cursed and for some reason Apollo does not like them.

Anyway a lot her stories involve varies characters who fall in love with woman with powers or have some sort of involvement with the gods or the paranormal etc... I just really enjoy the series and each book brings more information and more characters.

You will defiantly enjoy the series if you enjoy mythology of any kind. She taps into the Atlantis myth, Sumerian mythology and some Anglo Saxon/ Celtic mythology. Very cool stuff.

If you enjoy Paranormal romance novels please feel free to post about them here.

Sounds interesting - I should check that out when I have more free time.

A book that came to mind that qualifies as Paranormal Romance is Sirena, by Donna Jo Napoli. It draws heavily on Greek mythology, and is set in mythological ancient Greece. It is about a mermaid who strays away from her sisters and their quest to gain immortality by winning the heart of a human man. She is horrified by how all their failed attempts only lead to the death of the sailors, and decides that she no longer wants any part of that. She sets off to live alone, but finds herself befriending, and falling in love with, a marooned soldier. I won't give away what happens, but it is an interesting book. The Greek gods also play important roles in the story.

I like paranormal romance, it can give a richer and wider range of plots, plus with paranormal it isn't normal. The Dark Hunter Series by Sherilyn Kenyon is very good but others series like the Immortal After Dark series by Kresley Cole and The Dark Series by Christine Feehan are also if not more good than Kenyons series so far, but Kenyon is catching up and doesn't need to go far to be the best.

Ash is getting his own book soon and I am really excited about that. It should pop her up on my tops very soon. Devil May Cry was an excellent book and prepared you for Ash's story. The Compaign book is great and I love it.

Ash is getting his own book? Great! I would love to hear both Ash's story and who he ends up with  though in a way i feel sorry for Artemis too because she wants him and can't have him properly. That was my sorry moment but other than that Artemis is a spoiled brat who needs a good talking too, she likes being the naughty child, she isn't a virgin, and hides her twisted relationship with Ash like a child caught with forbidden and embaressing things.
Anyway go Ash and hope he finds happiness and kicks @$$ along the way

Well the book is when I believe he meets Artemis and it goes a lot into his life from the past. Also they are blood bonded and can't be apart. Artie is a little of a jerk if you ask me. She did a lot of horrible things to Ash and she still does. She did do something in Devil May Cry that will shock you so much (if you have not read it). Artie is really the Queen B.

I wish he would get with Simi... I believe they were together sort of but she betrayed him. He did manage to rekindle the little affair with Simi but she is more like a daughter to him, then a lover.
